As theorized from the trailer, AJ is very sick and Clementine wants to do whatever it takes to help him regardless of what David says. So she sneaks into Dr. Paul Lingard's tent while everyone else(except Paul himself, who's sleeping) is around the campfire and searches for the appropriate medicine, which it turns out require needle. Just then, Dr. Lingard wakes up from being high and whispers that she should just put the medicine(which is the last he has of that brand) back before someone else finds her and explains that he really did all he could, but he believes AJ is destined to die from his sickness because of this "curse" he has.

While you can technically choose to oblige him, choosing to inject the medicine anyway causes AJ to understandably start crying again, alerting David and Ava to the fact that Clementine disobeyed him. David goes off on her for breaking the rules and even says he should've just left AJ out in the woods to begin with (harsh), citing that that "waste" will likely cost someone else down the road, which Dr. Lingard backs up by pointing out that the reason AJ stopped crying and sniffling like he had been was because the medicine only lessened his pain. David then declares that Clementine is out of the group for putting her selfishness ahead of them, shoots down Paul's suggestion that they give her another chance by mentioning that Joan would do the same if she was around, and orders Ava to take AJ away from her when she decides to quit because "that ship has sailed."

Clementine is naturally upset with him for doing that, calling them all monsters, is reminded by Lingard and Ava that AJ is in no condition to travel and will just slow her down, and heartbrokenly reminds them that she's one of them. Ava asks David to give Clementine the chance to say goodbye, which she can either go through with or spit in David's face instead: if she kisses AJ goodbye, he calls her name as David escorts her away; if she spit in David's face instead, David will simply laugh it off by calling her "a real piece of work" and walks her off by the wrist as Ava tells her she deserves whatever she gets. Either way, David takes Clementine away and Ava walks over to Dr. Lingard(who's holding AJ).

This is okay so far, saving AJ with everything she can, but who knows, others might need that as well.

So it's one of those "fuck your decision" choices that we go in episode 2 essentially where your choice doesn't mean shit, just like telling Ava to fuck off, just like knowing New Frontier was bad news already but the game says "lol no, clem wants to join this ominous; fascist like group regardless, even though she's smart enough to deduce it's a bad idea". Now Clem has this stupid heat-stamped tattoo on her. So it seems like another annoying flashback honestly. Also how long is it? 5 minutes again?

Haha, spit in David's face, that's both an unintelligible action, yet an impulsive one at the same time, I'm nearly surprised it wasn't forced like Clem murdering Eli. Well, I honestly don't like this flashback much, it makes Clem look quite bad it appears. If they were setting up Clem to be forced to steal (despite there being an option), they could've at least made us reallllly hate the New Frontier first. They could've hypothetically hit A.J. or maybe have a friend that gets beat down by David and his men, almost like a Sarah for Clem at the time period, and then you plan to get A.J. medicine and leave before they could catch you, but it appears instead Clementine chooses to say "lmao xD" and injects the shot into A.J. right in front of them. Telltale could've then just carried on with the rest of it I guess, but honestly it does kind of make her look selfish and forced upon, very much forced upon. I'm disappointed once again, and it appears they can't make Clementine great again, but she's still great for me since I simply don't accept season 3 to be a canon version of the game, I just ended it with season 2, and prefer it overwhelmingly. I honestly believe they should've excluded Clementine from season 3, and then have Clem be the season 4 playable character once again, then have Javier and Clem meetup in that season. I'm almost certain it would've worked out a lot better, also the new engine is shit (I don't know why I reiterate this so much, but I do).

That's what it seems like, although I haven't seen what happens if you listen to Lingard. Most likely, AJ gets taken away anyway, since he kinda has to in order for Clementine's grudge in the present to work.

    Yes.

    That's pretty much the point. Clementine had an unambiguously good reason for doing so, but she still did something to legitimately get on the New Frontier's bad side and reacted poorly about being caught in the act. Personally, I very much prefer that they didn't just make the New Frontier the obvious bad guys of that scenario because that'd be detracting from the realistic toughness of the situation for the sake of making Clementine automatically be in the right using strawmen;
that was something I really didn't like about Season 2.5.

Yeah, pretty much. But that's not what they did and what we got is just an example of certain people getting what they wished for: more Badass/Edgy!Clementine.

Yeah there's no way AJ doesn't get taken away, that's a guarantee.

    Yes.

I think that might be a good thing, as it might mean less damage to Clem's character in that time, but who knows, there's a few people who like edgy Clem.

It honestly was just bad behavior on both parties. The New Frontier for not helping as much as they probably could/being assholes and Clementine for stealing in the first place, it's something not completely unjust, it's something both sides were wrong about I believe. Also is your nickname for season 3 "season 2.5", because for me, season 3 segments the entire series for me.

...Are you just being hypothetical about that? Cause if not, the *fuck *was this?! O-O

I meant another reason for Clem and AJ to get the fuck out along with the shot, but getting caught in the process. Not just plain out stealing and getting caught instantly.

Who was saying this to be exact? Telltale Community? Whom? If it was sourced from this community...well we already know they don't give a damn. From the general public though? I'd classify every one of them as complete idiots, as season 2 did a better job at depicting Clementine as someone who could rely on herself by the end, someone who was "tough as nails", a girl that sutured her arm and took a bullet; didn't bitch about either one of them really. These people are not true fans, and I was talking to someone in my IRC channel, and for whatever reason he actually was defending Jane, but too bad he was quite ignorant regarding TWDG, and I proved him wrong completely. I'm pretty sure he only liked her because he thought Jane was hot or something...that's just weird. He started using the "Kenny was going insane! He tried to kill Jane!" argument, and a few others, but they're all weak, and I pointed out how shitty of a character Jane was. Well that was quite off-topic.

No, it refers to the moment Nick Breckon wasn't the writer and Pierre Shorette started off with In Harm's Way. So, basically everything involving Jane's presence.

I don't really like it, as much of Clem's personality change is too forced, and this just adds onto it so far.

Pretty much the segment of the fanbase associated with the whole Edgy!Clem thing, Sarah-haters, people who saw Carver as a great guy, Janiacs, people who didn't like Clementine as a playable character, etc..

    Edgy Clem - Awful

    Blatant Sarah hate - Awful

Seeing Carver as a good guy - Awful (I thought he was a cool character, but he's a sack of shit)

    Janiacs - Awful

Not liking Clem as the playable character - Subjective, but I ultimately preferred playing Clem (instead of Javier or some random dude) because it feels more personal, but I'd say the only negative is that edgy Clem can occur sadly, but that won't affect me, and you can be douchebag Lee, so there's that.

What do you think Jaime looked like?

  • Thanks. I'm cool with my choice.

He says that Javier shot Rufus in the back and that they found the body near the crash.

  • No reason at all, maybe she just didn't have a picture.

Also I think she looked like Jane kind of, but maybe with brown, straight short hair down to the neck kind of, freckles, I really don't know honestly. Jane herself changed her hair around the apocalypse probably to keep it away from walkers, so who knows, we don't really know much about her family at all, just her sister and her parents getting mad that she broke a glass of rum (I think it's rum), and ate the glass shards from the bottle.

  • my Clem has never stolen.

What about the CG's supplies for her wounded arm or the walkie-talkie for Luke?

  • Those two were justified, stop trying to strawman. I'm referring to stealing with complete malicious intent, or something that could've been avoided. My Clem even apologized to the Cabin group for stealing and they forgave me, as Clem was going to probably die if she didn't suture her arm. Also they still had the supplies Clem borrowed regardless. The walkie-talkie was to escape a camp you were never supposed to be put in, and they treated you guys so bad that you HAD to try anything to escape, and guess what, they got their radio back regardless. My Clem so far has only took things in life threatening circumstances such as infections in her arm (blood loss as well) and escaping a labor camp that you should've never been thrown into in the first place, which also has a dictator who acts insane, who will murder people for the sake of doing it. Point being, I'm angry that Clem in season 3 tried stealing from Javier as "payment" which is completely unnecessary, and then tries to rob her own group, which while quite justified, she performed poorly, and honestly it makes her look bad this season even more so than before. So it appears Clem has a random issue with stealing from others out of nowhere even though as Lee, I didn't steal from the car because Clem really did persuade me, and she was so adamant that it was another person's probably, and in season 2 my Clem didn't steal from Arvo despite the pain killers that could help Rebecca. I did treat Arvo like absolute shit though subsequently because he betrayed my kindness, he deserved it.

  • Most likely not. She had a bag with her in episode 2 so it's possible she kept it in there but by episode 3 it's gone. Though, David does say 'get your things and leave' so it's possible that her bag is with TNF. But I don't expect TTG to follow up on that choice at all.

  • I don't, I call it season 3, but to me it's a "non-canon" season. They've ruined Clem's character, the writing is abysmal, Javier's family is incompetent years into the apocalypse, too many characters lack depth, the new engine also makes Clem look weird (doesn't really look like a +2 years aged Clem, her voice is too dark as well, all of this shit adds to her out-of-character feel), etc. I could go on for a long time, a one hour or more rant on the first two episodes alone. There's just a lot wrong with this season so far, and Telltale can't fix them sadly, and I think we're going to have to leave it at season 2 as the final season, at least that's my sentiment so far.

    AronDracula posted: »

  • Jane keeps her hair short so it doesn't get grabbed by walkers, she really doesn't care about appearance as depicted multiple times, and even compliments Clem's "smart haircut", but I do wonder what Jaime looks like. I recall Jane's first character development scene where she describes her sisterhood with Jaime, and one of the things she did was "give her the bad haircut", so I wonder if Jane and Jaime had the same hair style as Jane has currently (well she's dead in my S2 ending, but regardless). I don't know, we don't have anything to base this on necessarily, and it would've been neat if Jane did have a picture of her sister lying around to depict her appearance.
