Right now, I think this is as designed. We can look into trying to get some new background though. For now, this is just being used as the general one.
Is there any chance of the background being changed or anything. Maybe to a picture of all of Telltale's characters or something. The backgrou… morend looks like something from TWD which is fine for the TWD thread but doesn't really fit for General Chat etc.

I think I know what could be a problem. The text is much too wide to be comfortably read. The eyes have to move a lot and it's more difficult to find the beginning of the next line.
In some it seems to be about 136 Characters per line, which is way too much for good readability at this font size.
seems good so far, i will have to use it more to notice anything other than it seems a bit slower, the spoiler tick box is a good idea, but it would also be useful to have a spoiler button like the italic and bold button so you can give context to a spoiler and not just have the whole thing be a spoiler, plus highlighting and pressing a button is so much easier than using web code
I think I'm kinda slowly getting the hang of this now. Although the "Scroll to next new comment" doesn't work with the "Whatever's on your mind" thread (it just says "fetching"). And there needs to be something done about the new comment marking. After I've read them they still are marked as new, which means when I revisit a thread the "Scroll to next new comment" just takes me through the old new ones first.
I think the fetching problem may just be due to the old "linear" format. Perhaps the "Scroll to next new comment" function doesn't work for linear threads, or perhaps it's also due to the thread size. Either way, I had the same issue. I recall prior to the switch, the mods said the size of the thread caused problems for the new site which is why they split it into chunks.

As of right now, we are no longer offering physical goods. Possibly in the future this is something we could offer, but right now everything is digital for PC/MAC. If you purchased some sort of physical good from the site before we switched over, but never received it, please let our Support Team know.

Another little thing, is their a way to change timezones? It isn't 1.55PM over here in the UK! I've had a quick look round in the profile settings and couldn't see anything.
Not that I am aware of. I think we are going by our time zone (PST) at the moment for tracking purposes. However, at the next meeting this is something I can surely bring up and suggest.

It just makes me feel really angry and I have no idea why. Maybe it's because I miss the old forums, maybe it's because of how frustrating the new one is, I don't know.
I don't like Gravatar either, and I hadn't even considered the privacy angle. And I haven't tried changing my avatar yet (and I'll likely go with a stock one instead because of this), but I suspect I'd be screwed anyway because I used to have an animated avatar.
I don't like Gravatar at all. I tried it during the Prime Beta, but quickly realized that it uses the same Avatar on every site I use the same… more E-Mail Address on.
That's a major privacy Issue, which might enable people to Identify the user based on the Avatar, even if he uses a different public Nickname on various websites.
While that's not an issue to some people, It's a major setback for people who prefer pseudonymity and non-overlapping identities on the Internet.
But in youtube, the comments are still in chronological order and you can click on the "show previous comment" button to go to the previous comment. Though, usually, that's just diving down the proverbial rabbit hole.
Yes, Reddit was the clear role model for these forums. Too bad nobody realized that Reddit is a horrible role model and popular for reasons that don't apply here.

Okay, joke's over. This new clunky wannabe YouTube/Reddit/Instagram interface is a disaster. It is a chore to simply reply to another post. And it's hard to keep track of where the new comments are.
The fact that almost none of the website looks correct when viewed on an iPhone tells me a lot. I don't think the people redoing this website understand the difference between making a website viewable on a mobile device and making separate "mobile versions" of the webpages. I don't even think they tested any of these pages on iPhones or other mobile devices, and it really makes me question their competence. Almost every other website on the Internet looks perfect on my phone, and not all have special, stripped down "mobile
versions." This new Telltale website is all out of alignment and jumbled on iPhone. The problem isn't a lack of a mobile version. The problem is how they designed these new pages. I want to be able to view these pages on my phone WITHOUT needing special mobile versions. Every other site allows me to do this. I don't want to view the pages on "mobile version" anyway.
They really ought to go back to the other forum version. They should refresh that version, if they want, but not throw out all the popular features that worked beautifully and replace it with this garbage.
Enough is enough. It is time to admit this was a mistake and correct things.
As far as i can see all options that upload binary data to the website have been eliminated.
No file attachments
No avatars or images
The way of doing it now is uploading it to some other service and linking to it.
The problem with that is that other services sometimes delete content after a while or even shut down.
As a result there will be a lot of dead links and missing images on this forum in the future.
Ehh, bigger comments are now cut in half. I had some analysis going on in some of my posts which results in a lot of text and now half of the content I wrote is gone. So I guess there is some kind of character limit now? In my opinion that's NOT a good change since it doesn't allow fanfics and big thoughtful posts anymore. Like, I answered to this one speculation and gave my views on it, giving arguments to back up every point I made. It resulted in a lot of text which is now cut in the middle. If the site doesn't allow that kind of content anymore I guess I'll take my leave from the forums for I do not plan to spam discussion by double or even triple posting to get around the character limit. Or are you perhaps planning to change this? Hopefully since this is really unfortunate. If the new style of the site is to be more like Facebook/Youtube/whatever with like 2-5 sentences in a comment, then this is definitely not for me.
yeah, but it is understandable, if the forums had loads of people uploading files directly on the site it would put a big strain on it, hosting sites are designed for that, so i get why it is like that

I know you shouldn't have to, but how about creating a throwaway email account so that your avatar for the TTG forums (sorry, community) is only linked to that one account. Obviously forum hosted avatars are the better solution!

Gravatar needs to use the same email address as the one tied to your TTG account to work (or is it vice versa?), so a throwaway email would be pointless.

Can you still get the collecter's dvds for seasons? Going to the games part and it looks like there is no mention of the collecter's dvds.

A bit curious on this question as well. I never did grab my tales of monkey island/Back to the Future DVDs
For which games Ryan?
Yes, it worked just fine.
Tales of Monkey Island, BTTF and W&G. There seems to be no mention of the DVD's at all on the games page.
Correction. Its Tales of Monkey Island, BTTF, W&G, and Strong Bad. There seems to be no mention of the DVD's on the games page.

Thanks Friar. I will let the web team know and hopefully they will implement a fix.

That'd be much appreciated, thanks!
why would i want to return to the first new comment? and how long are they supposed to be new?
Wow! This website forums is extremely new! Astonishing!
Hmmm. Reserving judgement for now...
Nope. Not doing it for me at all.
Give it time. Once they've worked out all the little kinks I'm sure it'll be fine.
I've written this on every forum-related discussion but that "new comment" flag really needs to be fixed. The new comments never are marked as read.
Let's see how this works out...
I don't like Gravatar either, and I hadn't even considered the privacy angle. And I haven't tried changing my avatar yet (and I'll likely go with a stock one instead because of this), but I suspect I'd be screwed anyway because I used to have an animated avatar.
Apparently we're Reddit now! Let's all post witty comments in order to get the most thumbs up...
I mean "fit to screen size" not "auto center"
Not sure how you design that, but it shouldn't be too hard a fix.
But in youtube, the comments are still in chronological order and you can click on the "show previous comment" button to go to the previous comment. Though, usually, that's just diving down the proverbial rabbit hole.

I'm sure my pony from Telltale is coming in the mail as we speak. It will probably arrive before any kinks with this place are fixed.
Same here, thumbs up, absolutely. Forum hosted avatars are the only alternative. How about tomorrow.
It'll take donkey's years.

Yeah I don't want the same avatar for different forums so it's disappointing we can't have a telltale specific one of our own.

Is it just me, or are some comments in this discussion appearing multiple times?
