She comes off as the type to push people away so she doesn't get close to anyone and can't get hurt if they disappear or die. Probably started after her girlfriend "was killed." When she lets the bitchy tough girl facade drop a bit you can see she's actually worth talking to.

I find louis to be a hopeless romantic who's goofy, moves too fast with his advances, is obnoxious, isn't funny, has cringe singing, and imo he's not relatable. Violet isn't cringe, she moves at a slow pace, I don't find her to be obnoxious, and she's relatable.

I wanna start by saying that both Louis and Violet are believable characters.
I instantly liked Louis from the start, like I do with most of the characters that are written like him ( probably because I identify). I was indifferent with Violet tho, obviously, she was kinda rude and distant, but she apologized and after that started growing up on me ( Louis says that she starts growing on you, and this gave me a strong sense of self awareness coming from the writers because I was already feeling that way). She is intense, she is deep while being humorous (in her own edgy way AF ) or serious at moments. Don't get me wrong, I know most of you wants Louis x Clem because you want him to bring '' joy '' to her life, but the thing about a relationship is: Both should bring joy to each other. Being funny and charismatic doesn't make up for everything in a persons life, and most of the young people I know( basically straight couples ) don't even really get to know each other in a more personal way and their relationship begins in a superficial manner because the guy has Louis qualities or alike and it ends up short-lived, basically.
If you wanna keep shipping Clem and Louis, you obviously can. He's not bad, and I liked him first sight as I said, but he just isn't as intense, real, open and natural with Clem. Violet's possibly the only character in this series so far that actually has a Clem type personality other than Clem herself.

Are you saying or implying that clem has no personality? clem has showed every emotion and even though she's hardened over the years she can still smile, be happy at times, and enjoy life. And she's a zombie slaying badass with a sailor mouth.
It's not so much that I don't like her, It's more so that she hasn't really done anything to make me like her lol. So far, from what I've seen in episode 1, shes pretty boring. Doesn't mean my opinion on her wont change throughout the season.
Also there's about as much animosity towards Violet as there is towards Luis. Which, props to telltale for making their characters so irksome and cool. lol.
Not liking a character =/= a character having no personality. Regardless, as far as Violet goes, take the girl power out and Last of Us points out of your reasoning and you've basically got Louis, he's just a comic relief character; he's the good guys best bud who's along for the ride.
She’s my favorite because she’s badass and she’s a cool character & she’s my only favorite in the Final season out of the new characters this hole season in General so far I only two favorite characters are I only two favorite characters are Clementine & Violet & Brody
I don’t like Louis that much he’s too jokey that’s bad for a zombie apocalypse all nice people die plus I love Violet ( oh so I never use this community thing I had this account for 5 years)
There's not much character building with Violet herself.
She's mainly there as support for Tenn(of course) and as a foil for Louis.
Assim seems like a bettter choice.

@SolidStryder Not liking a character =/= a character having no personality.
The joke is that Clementeen is mostly at the player's and/or diection's whim. Which has naturally led to some messy long-term characterization.
Nonjokingly, I'm pointing out how [term I can't think of right now] she was in this episode.
Also, I'm not entirely sure on what she should be now beyond Protagonist.
. Regardless, as far as Violet goes, take the girl power out and Last of Us points out of your reasoning and you've basically got Louis

Her characterization had no problem until ANF, really. Like most protagonists in games that rely heavily on choices to shape their personality, it mostly depends on the players to keep a consistent character. Paragon Shepard suddenly going full renegade in either ME sequel is more so the players fault, because Bioware never took control of him away. Even not playing as Clem in S1 doesn't detract from the fact that the first game was built on us choosing how to guide her through our words and actions during the course of the season. I played through S2 in a similar manner to how I would have reacted in S1, so nothing really seemed out of character for me. I'd never watch a let's play for this reason, the games are a more personal experience than most games are. As far as the term you're looking for, I'm not sure what term best represents "exactly the way you played her", but that. I acted exactly the way I would have in S1 and 2, so I had no real issues.

Damn, you suck at math.
Violet and clem seem more natural together and contrary to what some people might or would think it's not because they're both girls and vio… morelet's gay. Violet's not one dimensional. People who think there's nothing more to violet than her being a jane and molly "clone" a lesbian, someone who's "edgy", doesn't have any depth, is a "bitch" and think just because louis is positive that he's the only person who can make clem happy just haven't been paying attention because when or if you pay attention to violet you see more to her character and more in her expressions and eyes.
I don't see that in louis or get that from louis. Violet's nice, she's complex, she's a badass, and she's not an obnoxious flirt who tries to be funny. I think violet's more real, has more depth, and is more believable than louis. And when violet smiles it's cute, adorable and I want to see her smile more.
I just wanted to say that I played a paragon shepard the first time and went full on renegade the second time and it actually fit the scenario. Like shepard died.... so its understandable to have a personality shift cause that crap is traumatic. And Clem has gone through some crap herself so its expected that she's changed and hardened over the years. It'd be unrealistic to expect her to remain the sweet little girl she was. I mean every season she's gone through some changes. In the first she needs help to survive, in the second she's a bit more independent and can handle herself, in the third she's a bit more ruthless and in the 4th... Well not much has changed from 3 to 4 I guess... or not enough that I can see right now.

My math is spot on, btw.
I don't understand why a lot of you keep saying she don't have a personality. As much as Louis is funny, Violet is caring. You can tell in how she deeply misses Tenn's sisters and how she looks after Tenn himself. And then people are calling her edgy. She not edgy, she's depressed and still mourning her lost. The few people she did talk to are dead and she's basically alone, and only has Tenn. She knows she's not an easy person to be around, that's why she apologizes for it when you go fishing with her; she's very self aware. From what I have gathered, she very compassionate to the people she holds close. Just look at both instances of the appeal choice. Both characters stood up to Marlon, but Violet was about ready to kill him due to what he did to the sisters. Both characters are great, but I just saw more complexity with Violet.
There's a lot to dislike about her character, just as there's a lot to dislike about Luis. It's part of what makes em both so believable. That's not to say it won't change. For all you know by second season all the Luis haters will be like 'omg he's the best, I can't believe I ever hated him!' And all the Violet haters will be like 'omg! ...meh...'
Hahaha kidding! They might be all 'omg, she's awesome! And that personality is to die for! Yyyaayyyy!'

Nobody dislikes Louis. Everyone loves Louis, including myself. I just see him as Clementine's survival companion, just like everyone except for Violet, who's her survival companion/Romantic interest option.

Dabig was saying that her having player control in S2/independent direction in the series led to a messy characterization in the longterm. My point with the paragon/renegade wasn't that it was wrong to do, or can't be justified, but more that it's kinda weird to do that and then complain that his character has messy long-term characterizations. We shaped Shepard the way we saw fit, rather than watch someone else take him/her and dictate a drastic shift themselves. TWDG does this in ANF for me, but as far as the S1/2/TFS, she has a very distinct and familiar personality to the way I've played those games. ANF kinda throws consistency out of whack depending on how you played those games, but she has as consistent of a personality as the player gives her in the other 3 games. For some, it's consistent through all 4.

I suppose I can see how her persona is somewhat jarring in third season, but I played her as someone always trying to do right by the people around her and etc in season 2 and considering all that she goes through by the end of it, her personality by season 3 didn't really surprise me at all. I feel like she became a harsher person but it made sense given how the 2nd game can end and all the led up to it as well as the extra stuff we saw in 3 of how she ended up alone if she wasn't alrdy.

Yea, I mean it was a natural progression for some people, for me, it was kinda like suddenly playing as Vega in the opening of ME3, watching Shepard curse out Anderson because of what happened between 2 and 3. I didn't get to react what happened and base my actions on how I reacted, I watched it. And I love Keith David, I'd never be angry at him lol

Oh way to make an assumption about my sense of humanity, when i'm dealing with a real hypocrite like you. You cant see how much of contradiction is to hate kenny , so much even though he's been through so much. "So I wonder wheres your keen sense of humanity"
Yeah...I mean losing her love didn't do that so I am sure that you with your keen sense of humanity are right about that.
That was blistering sarcasm btw....fyi.

Remember what happened when kenny lost Sarita? ( I won't even bring up duck and kaatja because that's incomparable)

Honestly her reactions are the most realistic for a teen outside of Ruby's reaction immediately after being bitten
