I told some guy earlier that I'd read his photo. Some times I'm really good at it. But I wasn't immediately getting anything from it. But if I look long enough I might. There was no room setting, which makes it harder. People need to realize that it's still ideas you're searching out and that context helps. The context he gave me is flat. :D

Ah. Photo reading, I've heard of that before. Just letting you know, other than that photo being shot in Japan on March 3rd (which you can get from a quick Google of what Hinamatsuri is) I'm not sure exactly what you could infer from the shot. There's no other people, and very little context.

I can try but it's on a whole other level man, to do it without a setting. When I feel inspired I'll post what I think. :)

You seem to be a very photogenic individual. The photographer had their work cut out for them.

I can't really say the same for me. This picture was taken a while ago, shortly after I arrived back home from a lengthy trip. Needless to say, I was exhausted. One of my siblings thought it would be hilarious to take the photo. Neither of them are coming clean about it but seriously, who else could have taken the photo?

I've been told I look like Michael J. Fox but I can't really see the resemblance.

You're shitting me. Is this you? This can't be you. If it is, you're actually a pretty handsome dude. If not, I'm going to scream at you in a horrifying manner for posting a red herring when everyone is so curious. Then I'm going to murder you with a candlestick in a parlour.

    You're shitting me.

    That sounds painful....
  • edited March 2011
LOL, not because of my photo.

    :D

This just seems like a thread that could be stickied. I had to search for the thread before posting in it. Of all topics, I think that this one could use a sticky note. I mean, it's often people post pictures.

Secret Fawful, the photo is a photo of myself.

You're such a smart ass Tom. haha

Figured I've been here long enough, and I already posted this in the Purchasing thread.

Me, looking sleepy. And slightly creepy.

Slightly creepy? Tired? Psh. You look fine to me. I'd post an update with my new haircut, but I haven't had a haircut in weeks and probably look horribad due to lack of sleep.

I had this picture staring at me on my desktop the evening I took it. Then, it got covered up with some firefox windows and I forgot about it. When I quit firefox for the night at some ungodly hour there I was...staring at....myself.

It was the scariest thing ever.

Nonsense. The scariest thing ever was the night they announced the election results in November, 2000. When Bush was elected? Terrifying times.

That probably would have been scary if I paid attention to politics in the sixth grade. Which I didn't. I was far too preoccupied with learning about medieval weaponry at that age to be concerned with anything else.

Well, that's far more awesome than politics - especially when you realize that politics is just two assholes with the same basic views yelling about the best way to screw over the country. Compare that to trebuchets hurling flaming death over a quarter of a mile and the choice is obvious.

That was my thought process in the sixth grade. Actually, that still is my thought process, only applied to more eras than simply medieval.

Roman, definitely. Baroque, only really so far as music goes. I also really started liking Victorian era, mainly because the literature is so creepy. And, of course, pirates, from any time period actually.

Wise words. I think I can officially agree with all of that. :D

Looking back, I realize I forgot Egypt and Greece as well, but to a lesser extent. And World War I. And II as well, I suppose. And Japan. I could go on for awhile...

    How about...

The Ancient Middle East - including...
    Assyria
    Babylon
    Sumeria
    Messapotamia (The first true empire!)
    Persia

    Tsarist Russia
    The Byzantine Empire
    Imperial China
    Mongolia

    I can go on, too.

Yes. I've actually studied most of them, at some time or other. Ah, the beauty of survey courses! If I had my pick, all of my classes would be survey courses.

I envy your academic courses. Intensely.

Well, I only took two in college, a European history survey and a Mediterranean history survey. The rest were in high school or on my own time.

I don't think I care much for a world where a big sex machine like Doodo can't get a good woman.
