Okay, I added them earlier. Thanks again.
Should we delete all of our off-topic posts so people can see the submissions without having to go through lots of text?

    Good Idea. Done.

    Junaid, I love your cards!
    (Your style is great, too).

EDIT: I'm glad I entered early. I would never have dared if I had seen the competition :P

    Thanks :)
I'm trying new things with these cards, it's very fun to do

    "Last" one?! Noooooo!

P.S. Why do people sometimes draw little dots on the top of people's arms? Is that spot prone to pimples?
  • edited February 2010
Junaid, you won me over with the LeChuck card. These are just so cute and charming! :D

I wish I had time to do something. Anyways, obvious stuff would be Max saying "What's your Max gonna do to YOU?", TTG characters all forming a heart (you'd outline in the shape of the Telltale logo, with Strong Bad and...that guy who plays his father in Dangeresque 3 as the two edges on top), and the manatees from Leviathan. I'm sure there's better stuff. I'm too swamped with homework to think of anything.

OK, that's my hotly-anticipated contribution. Bye.

Edit: Junaid's rock. Though, I guess Winslow's should be like: "The only map I need is the map...to your heart." Or, "I don't need a map to sail to you, Isle of Ewe." (It'll make sense if you read that one out loud.)

Double Edit: Some good ones. "You make my heart go boom" made me laugh, as did avisteow's.

If you mean the Bosco one, that's arm hair :D
And it's based on the original concept art

Oh and I was planning to do the Winslow "Isle of Ewe" thing but DinghisKahn beat me to it :)
Second idea was Winslow with the Vaycalian in his arms but the Vaycalian was a pain to get right in this style
  • edited February 2010
Yeah, I hadn't seen that one. :) That's good too. I think mine is OK because it sounds like "I don't need a map to say to you, 'I love you'", but the other one is probably better. I was trying to go for intentionally cheesy funny.

It just occurred to me that my map one is pretty much a rip-off of something from Leviathan's manatee puzzle. Go figure. I thought of it, but everything considered it could just be something I'd forgotten I knew.

That was so ridiculously hard, it's not even funny.

I managed to make a PDF, I'll add the link to it at some point.

Not funny? Get real, it's hilarious - both of your cards are! For some reason, when I read this card, I'm hearing the voice of Glen Quagmire from Family Guy.

Oh, sorry, I meant it as an expression. Like, when something is ridiculously hard, there is a point when it's so hard it's funny, and then, if it's even harder, well it's so hard it's not even funny.

I was pretty sleepy when I posted that. And I really wanted to finish it before I went to bed, but then I woke up (after only 3 hours of sleep I might add) thinking "HIS SLEEVES ARE TOO LONG!!!"
That idea panicked me for some reason so I shortened his sleeves, and used the opportunity to realign some of the sleeves that were a bit off-pattern (I'm sure there is a way to create a pattern and automatically put it everywhere, but I'm not good with computers, so I drew it all. Well, I drew the jacket without sleeves but with pattern, duplicated it twice, then added sleeves and the lines on each sleeve. But then when I put them all together I apparently didn't align them as well as I could have, so that's what I fixed.)

Anyway, here he is with slightly shorter sleeves. Yeah, it was really worth waking me up for, brain >.>

(I guess he does look a bit like Quagmire, in some way, doesn't he? I suspect it's the chin).

I think I might update my first post to add all of my submissions in the same place. I'm feeling too lazy to do that just now though :P

I'm having a lot of fun making these :) And I can't wait to see what everyone else is cooking up for us.

I'm off to update my first post now.

EDIT: I added my submissions in my first post, but for some reason the mariachi one doesn't show. Did I do something wrong?

Well here's mine. I don't particularly like it that much, since i rushed on it while being absolutely teriffied [cop car, motorcyle, helicopter in my neighborhood. scary stuff man] so it doesn't look too good. i am proud of the shading on her skin.

MSpaint 100%. it's just as capable of making art as any other program<3

although i hope the staff doesn't mind i took the colors on morgan straight from her concept image. i'm picky about pixelling the right colors exactly. xD

    hope you like<3

Curses! I totally had that punchline in my head when I saw this contest. That's my reaction for basically any holiday now though.

I wasn't planning on entering this, but then I thought of something and decided to give it a shot.

The final product, is... well... it is what it is.

Who knew there was so much romance to be found in Telltale's games?
  • edited February 2010
Choosing the winner is going to be harder than map puzzles ;)

Great entries, no point in posting something, even moreso because I'm not artist at all, but what the heck. I haven't yet seen these guys around, and I thought it was an obvious subject.

    Hah! Those are cute!

    ---

Anyway so, after avistew's suggestion on the work I've put in Sam and Max fanart thread, I felt like a dumb as I couldn't believe I've missed such a good opportunity on a horrible pun!

    Newcanvass.png

    Thanks avistew! 8D

Uh... and.. ahem; "You've gotta believe in MAGNETISM!". Yep. My work here's done.

EDIT: BTW I LOVED the work of TheNuclearReactor, you know, it GOT me~

Hey guys, today's the deadline but I'm just wondering at what time? I was working on this one pic for a long while but I decided just yesterday to temporarily scrap it and make a brand new one just for this thread, because the other one didn't feel personalized enough. :| So yeah now I'm still struggling to get it all shaded in time before I head to work.

No idea. Let's say when is 12:59 P.M. of today at Telltale's HQ time. Go, pecan, go!

    Hi,

Wow! Great pictures, everybody! I'm no artist by any means, but here's my humble entry.

    First, the wordy triptych version:

Or, cut straight to the chase with Max:

Whoo boy, I really gotta head to work so I got this done just in time but didn't have enough time to figure out proper print sizes or make a cover and back. Sorry! :( (you write what you like under the bubble btw)
