I don't think Switzerland and Austria would have been working together. Actually, I think Switzerland would have wanted to stay out of it.

Austria has a strong motive but I'd keep an eye on Belgium, too.

avistew, I leave the investigation in your hands. Do us proud, PI!

    Two words. "Grim Fandango"

    One more word. "Please?"

They could get Ugle Betty's uncle (or whoever he plays) back for Manny and it would make me smile and then Telltale Games would be rich in the knowledge that they did a good deed

Sbcg4ap season 2!!!!!!! think about it, that could be why tbc have been quiet lately, or
I get to be a tester and get ALL of their future games for free and just have to give my imput on the games.

SB:S2 is a tad unlikely for an anouncement at the moment, given S1 is currently on sale for $9. An announcement would undoubtedly boost sales anyway. Maybe thats just what they want us to think...

What about a Dott-Tale? or Zak McKraken? :)

Why must it always be Lucas-Licenses? :D

It certainly doesn't make much sense. So far, they have licensed:

    1. Bone
    2. Sam and Max
    3. CSI
    4. Homestar Runner
    5. Wallace and Gromit
    6. Monkey Island

Of these 6 series, only 1 is a LucasArts property.

Where is it that cheap? I'd buy it (again) for that price.

Well, to be fair, Sam & Max was under control of LucasArts for a long while. Also, I'd wager most people know Sam & Max from Hit the Road.

You're looking at the site in question.

Purcell retains full ownership of his property. He licenses it out for the creation of games and a TV show, but he never gave up ownership of the characters. The closest LucasArts had to "controlling" the property was when they held exclusive rights to make a videogame between the cancellation of Freelance Police and the deal with Telltale.
Also, I'd wager most people know Sam & Max from Hit the Road.
All the same, not a LucasArts property any more than Star Wars is a Bioware property.

    Sale runs through February 28.

I call that "Controlling." I don't see how that wouldn't be considered to be the case. Disney licenses the Winnie the Pooh franchise, but they still control the vertical and horizontal.

Apples and oranges. It'd be like if Bioware held full control of the Star Wars franchise as far as video games were concerned.

Discount is applied in basket. I just picked it up, and added it to my long list of games i'll never get round to playing ¬_¬

Man, how'd I miss that? Well, consider it bought. Now I've got it on both Wii and PC. And people say I don't care.

So a couple of days after the 21st right? Which means that the video's been released already right? On the G4 site right? Which I can't be bothered to go check so I'm going to wait until someone posts a link right?

Yeah that's right. Link it suckas!
  • edited February 2010
The video and the 'big news' are 2 separate entities, as far as I can tell. I'm sure the video is wonderful, but I don't think it has the announcement in it.
  • edited February 2010
Awww... Any idea when the announcement will be made?

    EDIT: Wait I can read!

"Apparently, some more big Telltale news is happening in a couple of days."

So a couple of days right? etc...
  • edited February 2010
We should know whatever this big news is by Friday. Of course, we all know it will more than likely be an official announcement of Season 3.

Whatever the announcement is, this will be a fine way to start off the weekend. That "fine" will be "EPIC" if said announcement is the official anouncement of Season 3

Or the acquirement of Grim Fandango...
  • edited February 2010
Or both. And then it would be Double Fine! (ba-dum tish)

The 2 most popular are Sam&Max and MI, both sequels to LA games. So it would make (financial) sense to make another LA sequel to get costumers and $.
Of course an own game would be probably prefered by the crew, but another license is less risky.

You mean "Double Epic", my friend ;)

Well... the partnership between the two is open now as far as we know. Let us ignorantly hope :p

I hope the announcement is for a new series. But most likely it will be the obvious: "Sam and Max season 3 is coming out soon!"... *falce palm*
or even something i dont care about: "Same and Max on PSN!"

This are the top 5 things im hoping for TTG new big news:

    5. Games will hit retail stores and we will be able to buy such games, and some will come in a complete pack that business wise would be awesome for them to sell.
    4. A Loom sequel game or remake like Sam and Max 3rd season.
    3. TTG new strategy to delve into other genres of gaming like RPG, first person shooter games and strategy games.
    2. Expansion of TTG in making exclusive games for the Wii (like heavy rain's success in ps3, they will do a game in Wii for only console playing and pc and mac platforms!)
    1. The announcement of a new original adventure franchise game from TTG and it's NON EPISODIC!!!! YAY!!!!!
  • edited February 2010
I hope the big announcement will be regarding Majus and Suro directing their own flash game franchise marketed by TTG.

That would be pretty awesome, and of course to launch along side Sam & Max Season 3.

I can't help but ponder over that mysterious "dramatic" game that Dan talked about briefly... That would be pretty sweet, as I'd love to see TTG have a serious-game franchise to work with.
  • edited February 2010
Dramatic game, indeed. I long for a game that looks "mature"; you know, people keep riling me up about the fact that I'm still playing kiddie games, because everything that looks cartoonish is still regarded as being for little kids. But it's hard to design something more realistic looking without falling over the cliff of dullness.

I'd also like to say, if nobody was allowed to dream and fantasize, we wouldn't even have the games already in existence, so I'll be thinking up new possibilities for games as much as the next person.

I know what you mean, my SBCG4AP and W&G DVD's arrived the other day and mates were all "are these games for your godchildren" and I was all "no they're mine" and they were all "grow a pair!!" and I was all "HAHAHAHHA!!! ...get out"

Seriously though, I know what ye mean, but at the same time TTG's have that distictive Telltale look, even though they all look really different from each other, I can't place my finger on what makes their games standout, but they do

Starting to care less and less about monkey Island and I just really need to hear Sam&Max news.

Who knows. I bet that's more along the lines of LeChuck's Revenge: Special Edition, though.
  • edited February 2010
The last MI special edition was done by Lucas Arts and not by TellTale. I would imagine that future SE's of older LA games will be done by LA as well. Maybe it is a new TMI season :) Maybe a new game from a franchise that TTG has not worked with yet.

That never mentioned Telltale in March.

I wonder if this is at all tied in with LucasArts making an announcement that will "please MI fans" (retrogamer Dec issue). I think it's possible for a TTG/LA joint announcment of MI6 (given LA still owns the MI license). However, more likely is a S&MS3 Trailer from TTG, and the announcement of MI2:LR:SE from LA.
