Hmmm, I suspect the out-of-sync issues is related to the uploading. I doubt it'll be like that in the game. The uploader says he can't upload the full video because he gets errors.
Youtube often messes up synch of videos, it's a common problem especially with let's plays.
I think Douchnozzle is now my new fave insult hahaha.
This is looking prettttttyyyyyy, it's gonna be strange to play with the voices, but it was odd to play Secret with the voices as well. Still, MI2 is the first MI game I played so it's sorta... more special hahah.
Love that they changed that opening bit to include the twisted metal and concrete. Do you think the artist just didn't realise it was supposed to be metal/concrete?
Id write more but my kid has created a handpuppet our of bread and is attacking me with it... wth?
Oh my god, I came. Every little thing about this is absolutely amazing.
Things I noticed:
-Roger L. Jackson as Fink, and whoever voiced Mancomb Seepgood, the Chef and Captain Smirk as Largo.
-Looks like they're not using iMuse anymore, and they've gone for a crossfade-thing instead, like with Tales of Monkey Island.
-The DETAIL. I love that you can see Woodtick from the wide shot of Scabb Island.
-The intro is missing? Presumably it's going to be a new intro like with the first one, and it'll be right at the start rather than between the scenes of Guybrush hanging over the pit and Guybrush on Scabb. I think this actually works better for the pacing.

Aw damn it. I wouldn't like that. Not because it's bad, but because I'm too used to the old version.
LOL! Who made this video? It's like they were in a rush because they didn't want to be caught stealing video of it. I seriously doubt Lucas Arts sanctioned this video because it's not really a good first impression. Though what little I saw, I loved.
Yeah Largo's voice sounds a bit wrong, maybe too deep? I'd say that voice belongs to a bigger man than Largo LaGrande. Not that I'm complaining, it's a minor thing, really.
I think that Largo's voice would have to be my first major bitch with the game so far. I guess it's just not how I heard it in my head while playing the original, I much prefer Dom's portrayal of the character. I'm sure I'll get used to it, it's just a little disappointing for me.
I had no real voice for Largo in my head. You know Shemp or Moe Howard? That's the closest I could ever get to a voice for Largo. It's like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. I can't imagine a voice for either character.
On the first video, we saw the user press the play button, then it went straight to the cave scene, and as seen in both videos, it seems to cut straight to Scabb Island after that. I think they may have cut the intro sequence completely (dancing monkeys and opening credits). Bit of a shame for longtime players of the game.
EDIT: Actually, here's how I think/would like it to go:
+LucasArts logo.
+First dancing monkeys opening scene ("You guys get out of here")
+Fades into title screen seen at start of Video 1.
+Main Menu
+Cave Scene
+Scabb Island and rest of game
Thinking it over, I don't think they cut the original monkeys scene, reason being that LucasArts' loading animation on the website is the grey monkeys running across the screen. Why animate that if they weren't going to use it in game? Also note that the loading screen is Guybrush tapping his foot (used in the second dancing monkeys segment), the only additional animated moment in the original game's intro scene, maybe LA wanted us to see it somewhere, so they used it as the loading screen.
Speaking of loading screens, I really hope the waiting times between rooms is not that long. It was fine in the 1st SE.
Largo's voice isn't too bad... not really what I was expecting either... it sounds too menacing part of the humor of Largo is that its this little guy terrorizing everyone... his voice should have represented his short stature... But it could have been a whole crap-ton worse..
I'm quite positive that the intro-sequence WILL be included... it's just not finished yet. Jesse told me that he is still working on the music, so I guess that's why it's missing.

Regarding Largo's voice, Dom has ruined it for me, that April Fools prank where he did Largo's voice has stuck with me and that's how I always imagined Largo sounding now.
Didn't the original game have a "Yeowch!" sound clip when Guybrush uses the Largo doll? Or am I confusing my games here?
PC did, at least in some releases. I don't remember hearing it in the Mac version. The Mac version did have those sounds in its sound/music resources (along with door open/closes), but they didn't play. Can't speak for the Amiga.
Also this game looks nice. The scary Monkey Island 2 purist in me raises an eyebrow at what sounds like a few different tempos in the Woodtick music (??), and little niggly details like that, but I can't wait to play this. There seems to be a lot of reverence for the source material in this SE. Also Dominic's line deliveries in that opening shot in the cave made me super happy! After hearing his amazing work for the finale of Tales I can't wait to hear how they play the end of 2.

I keep hearing about that april fools prank, but I've never seen it, and haven't been able to find the video. Could someone post a link?
It's not a video. I believe it's just audio, isn't it? That's the only way I've heard it.
And I'm pretty sure the intro is still there, he's just skipping it. If it's anything like SMI:SE (which we have no reason to believe it isn't) it's built right on top of the original game code which means they CAN'T remove the intro. It's there. Don't worry about it.
The Largo voice is a little jarring...doesn't seem to fit. But so what. It's not gonna bother me that much. I'm glad they restored the cement scene, anyway.
And yes, there were digital sound effects in MI2 but I haven't ever been able to get them to work in DOS. They work in ScummVM, though.

That was one of the best April Fools jokes ever, imho.
Also the musical score in it was fantastic.

I allways imagend Moe Sizlack as Largo's voice
No, it was 'Papapishu' .
"give elaines bust to elane" "Im not holding Elanes bust" (ok you cant do that in the game but still)
"I couldn't give a dam."
yes your very nice

It's offline right now. Mixnmojo took down all their old news.
