I caught the leaked videos before they vanished, and I'm also not hugely keen on Largo's voice, it just sounds too deep. Everything else looks fantastic though.
I actually like Largo's voice. I always saw him as quite a sinister character and, even though he has some comical moments, it would be hard to take him seriously with a higher, goofy voice. I reckon a lower voice makes him seem more like a bully.
Yeah, I imagined him sounding tough, not goofy or anything, but not like some common thugh.
I actually think Dom did a great job, though it might've been a little lower in that version.
I remember playing "lite" after "hard", and I was completely stuck trying to get a piece of Largo's clothing! I just didn't notice it was simply lying there.
You guys don't understand, the world today doesn't know how to play adventure games. They're going to be insanely stumped on hard mode. Easy mode is a nice way to introduce them.
Of course, there's always the hint system now too...
I think the hint system does a better way of helping players through the game than the Lite mode, which basically just removed part of the game. So I can't say it's a great loss to get rid of Lite mode.
who needs the "lite" version? seriously, it's just the normal game, but without any puzzles ^^
People who play the game just for the narrative/humour. I know after a 2-3 playthroughs of most Point'n'click games, i want to play them again, but don't necessarily want to have to do the same puzzles i already know the solution to (like insult swordfighting- start off with the insults on 2cnd playthrough!)

Not to mention all the story ellements that are excluded. There's no Bone Dance dream sequence, no Kate Capsise, Swiss Family Robinson tree houses, Drinking Contest, Spitting contest......
I played the lite version first then I noticed references and screenshots to these scenes on fan sites and was confused at how i had missed them all.

That would be all well and good if the lite version didn't remove a lot of the story.
Theoretically, this could have been. Unfortunately, the lite mode also takes away quite a lot of jokes. For instance
Largo's bra, Guybrush spit mishap, the shop keeper acting like Guybrush is supposed to carry one million pieces of eight with him
to name just a few.
I haven't played the game yet (ashamedly), so i couldn't really say much. I loved the difficulty setting in Curse (playing it on normal first, then on hard on the 3rd run through added extra replayability to it.)

It's very different in Revenge. In Curse, when you've got a very difficult 5-part puzzle (like getting the jawbreaker), lite mode changes it to a four part pretty difficult puzzle, while in Revenge's lite mode, it becomes a ridiculously easy 2-part puzzle. Also it doesn't just happen to the difficult puzzles, but to all puzzles, even the easy ones.
And I was sortof right, the logo kindof replaces the dancing monkeys scene from the original game, it's just a different version of that with the LucasMan instead of Guybrush. Looks like it'll cut from Guybrush in the cave to Scabb Island and skip the opening credits entirely. Does that mean no new Monkey Island theme though?

It's just a logo! Remember, the game is still in development. A "Summer" release date could mean up to August. The theme probably hasn't been recorded yet.
MI1SE also starts with a logo, and then the main menu appears. Only difference is that this time, the logo seems to have an animation.
The cave scene, followed by the opening credits probably start when you start a new game from the main menu. That would make perfect sense to me.
I really hope they do not take out the opening scene. This one, out of all MI opening scenes, was my favourite, for ALL reasons.
The dancing monkeys and the music and the piraty drawings.

maybe that was the uploaders plan after all
But I guess I've heard him with Dom's voice so many times...
This one is too deep though.
That makes it even funnier! You got this tough sounding guy who wears a bra.

Obviously the harder one, the other one is basically gutted from all puzzles.

Thank you!! How cool is it to hear Dom's voice coming out of Guybrush in these scenes?

Morph dances with monkeys?

It's probably not finished yet. I know the music isn't.
