I've been getting questions all day about "Wtf why is everyone's avatar an eye?"

They saw I was in on it and deemed to ask me. Yeah, I'm one of the cool kids now.

This morning I started browsing the forums and was all... what the crap? What's with all these damn eyes everywhere? Hey Nik, what's with all the eyes?

    Nik: ...eyes?

    Me: yeah, I dunno.

    I'll explain...

exactly how are the ladies supposed to lose themselves in my sparkling blue eyes when I am only allowed a 50x50 pixel AV..

50x50 is not enough, you need a 1000x1000 high-res pic, yo.

You can always have like, one eye as an avatar.
    Hey, that's a great idea!

    And so it began.

Also Fealiks was the first one to actually put an eye for an avatar.
  • Why the ?, make it an eye! :p

    Fixed.
  • edited March 2010
I'm kinda speechless. This is random even for you guys.
Also I feel like I wanna join the cool kids club, but I rather be the cool outsider by not having ANY avatar at all! HA!

    Yes it's lonely here.

Edit: Also sad that nobody thinks I'm the best male :(

My wife's brother used to do stuff to try to be an outsider in high school.

Then, he went to college and realized that a lot of other people do the same thing in the same way for the same reasons... which means at some level if you are trying hard not to fit in with the crowd, then you are still fitting in with people, just picking a different group.

I'm in the "I like my avatar and don't feel like changing it to an uninteresting eyeball" group.

"GASP!!" you find our eyes uninteresting?
  • edited March 2010
Speaking of your avatar, Fawful, what is it? And what happened to Frollo?
  • edited March 2010
    Frollo got a fro.
  • edited March 2010
Fawful's is from the movie Amadeus I believe.

The only thing more interesting than the most interesting of villains is the most interesting of heroes.

The movie Amadeus comes close to succeeding at having both, with a villain as despicable as Frollo and a hero as sympathetic as Quasimodo. Also the hero of this movie is played by the guy who played Quasimodo. He's so happy and cheerful, and that's why I wanted him to represent me and my personality on these forums, whereas before, I was representing Frollo as my favorite villain. So both avatars have opposite purposes, and are ironically of opposite character types.

    Well, there it is.

    I still miss Frollo.

That's one funny forum glitch right there.

And welcome to the dark side, Trope!
  • edited March 2010
    fixed.

EDIT: nope. I like it. I leave it like that for a bit.
  • edited March 2010
What are you talking about? It was fine just the way it was.
  • Aw, what happened to your enormous eyevatar?
  • edited March 2010
I know this forum doesn't delete old threads, but we really need an "epic thread" archive here. Our combined ability to go on tangents is easily the seventh best on the internet.
  • edited March 2010
okay it's back now. I was playing around with it.
  • edited March 2010
If that eyevatar gets shrunk, then the terrorists have won.
  • edited March 2010
    o_O

How the hell did that happen?

    Eye-agra.
  • edited March 2010
    Eye-agra.

Will you please step outside with me and this baseball bat full of nails?
  • edited March 2010
That would depend entirely on who is holding the bat. :)
  • edited March 2010
Uh oh! I sense something silly and mischievous about to happen!

    (Also 500th post)
  • edited March 2010
    hehehe
  • edited March 2010
I wonder if anyone forgot to make sure they still have their old avatar for when we get sick of this.
  • edited March 2010
    imagedtr.jpg Nope.

Gotta appreciate my huge "bug"eye eyevatar though.
  • edited March 2010
    Seriously, how'd you manage that?
  • edited March 2010
I saved my old avatar, so I'll be sure to switch back when this stops being cool.

Also this is totally still cool guys.
    Seriously, how'd you manage that?
My guess is that a small enough filesize supersedes the 50x50 limit. Also I think it's getting annoying to read some pages. Meh.
