So rumor has it now that the Minish cap will be making an apperance later in the year.
Oh, I hope so. Even though I just bought the cartridge from Gamestop earlier this year to play on my GBA Micro, I still hoped that it would be one of the GBA games ported to 3DS from the moment that ambassador program was announced. Partly because I'd love another excuse to play it again, but also because I think it's important that everybody who missed it the first time should definitely get the opportunity to play it. It's a great game design with a great art style that makes me wish there was still a chance of another true 2D Zelda like it at some point.
Minish Cap. That was a great little Zelda game. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. It was a little easy, though. Much more interesting than Phantom Hourglass.

I would have loved PH if it wasn't for the ruddy Temple of the Ocean King. Which is why Spirit Tracks is so much better. That's only let down by the microphone instrument playing.

EW.
*edit 2* wait, this was posted on the last page. Woops.
The rumor has been that Nintendo will be announcing this and/or a new model of 3DS that has a thumbpad built in at their "New Product Conference" that they're holding on the 13th, and the price drop was a way of clearing out old model stock. The idea is that they'll de-emphasize 3D in marketing and actually focus on games, with a second thumbstick actually being something that can put them(control-wise) at least somewhat closer to on par with the Vita's range of input options.
yeah I'm not a fan of how it increases the width of the 3DS and pushing you away from the buttons. My hands are tiny and the 3DS fits perfectly right now
oh I can fit 5 DVD cases in my pockets, each. I've once walked from my house to my friends house with 5 DVD cases in 4 of my pockets. I like big pockets.
I used to have 6-8 sets of pockets on my pants. Now I'm down the only 4 (including the ass ones). While my side pockets are big enough to fit 3 DVD cases in them (my pants are so much tinier now damn new fads). So, overall I'm not worried on what is or isn't portable. I mean hell right now I can fit like 2 game gears in my pockets.

Honestly, the 3DS would do better if they'd focus on the games and the fact that the darn thing has very good graphics!

Very good? The 3D effect murders the processing power and the graphics are actually horrible compared to what the hardware COULD do if Nintendo had left out the crappy tacked on 3D gimmick.

Really. I haven't had any problems with the 3D effect in Ocarina of Time. In fact, most of the time, I play with the 3D on. Hardly seems crappy, tacked-on, or gimmicky to me. Now, I will admit to slow-down in Dead or Alive Dimensions. However. THERE'S A SLIDER. The 3D is an option. And one thing I find funny is how many people are complaining about the names 3DS and Wii U, how they're building on what's been established. Nintendo->Super Nintendo->Nintendo 64->Nintendo Gamecube; Game Boy->Game Boy Pocket->Game Boy Color->Game Boy Advance->Game Boy Advance SP. This is not a new business practice for Nintendo. They have to build off a successful brand.

and Developers are allowed to turn off the 3D function at will to use the proc. powers for whatever they deem worthy.

It is an ugly and pointless effect that adds nothing to the experience, and more often kills immersion than provides it.

Yes, because a developer is definitely going to release a non-3D game on a system Nintendo is pushing so hard as a 3D system. How many games are released on Wii that offer classic controller schemes? Oh yeah, almost none.
Compared to what? PS1? The graphics are super low resolution blurry nightmares. With 3D on, OoT actually manages to alias more than the N64 version, somehow. The game is only somewhat tolerable to look at with the 3D slider turned all the way off.
400x240/320x240 is an absolutely atrocious display resolution, even for a handheld. Even PSP has 480x272.
I think the 3D is neat, and I think Zelda 64 came out looking pretty nice, but I can't help but think that overall, I'd rather have a system with double the resolution and no 3D.
Like, here's a promo screenshot for OoT 3D:
And here's a screenshot from the game we actually got:
If that's not a little bit depressing, in terms of missed opportunity, I don't know what is
I currently have one game where the 3D is always turned off past the intro movie. Also Cubic Ninja uses no 3D. So far that is 2. Also quite a few games offer Game Cube and/or Classic controller schemes. I've about 10 that do.

I'm trying to picture this... my brain just won't process it.
Pretty hard to find these days.

I don't see how adding extreme aliasing to every single edge of every single polygon in the game can look better to anyone, but okay.
Well, it does. The games look much better with 3D at full-blast.
Because:
Star Fox.
$10
$35. Chances are, if you give a fuck about Star Fox 64, you already have one of these.
You mean there are people out there without Star Fox!!!??!?
INCOMPREHENSABLE!!!
Everyone should have this game on everything!
HAHA! I HAVE no foxes of the stars! Or even foxes of other planetary bodies!
I AM VICTORIOUS!
I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST TO THIS SCUUUUUUMMMM!!!!

However, I do need OOT 3D. Even if I never own a 3DS.
Definitely better looking than the N64 version.
It still looks worse than the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess.
You are comparing semirealistic(as realistic a nintendo game gets) with cartoony. Not the best comparison.
As for other news, who actually got Star Fox 64 3d? I may pick it up, but am not too sure yet.
It's not that bad. And it IS a handheld.
I'm waiting for the money to pick it up.
