PC/Mac System Requirements (official specs on page 4!)
I was wondering how much more BTTF might demand of my laptop compared to the Devils Playhouse? I just got TDP during the Meet the Players sale (At release I decided to go PS3 instead just in case), and it runs pretty well at levels 1-3, and adequately at 4-6 in windowed mode. There's a fair bit slowdown on the medium levels, but it's still playable. Will BTTF be at roughly the same levels? I'm aching to preorder it but want to be sure I can even play it.:

**crosses fingers**
And also Telltale did sam & max and the graphics there wasnt that amazing.
But i found now that the game system requirements for the pc arent this low.
2GB hard disk space i hope means a great graphics and gameplay.
And i hope the game will be full point and click cuz i dont see how you can play point and click on ps3 and ipad.
I also saw on adventuregamers.com site that the game isnt realy point and click:
Direct control (gamepad), Direct control (keyboard), Direct control (mouse)
And i saw now the game is out for mobile too. and on mobile the graphics cant be that good. But i hope im wrong.
Anyway:
Back To The Future: Part 1

AMD Processor - Sempron 3600+
Nvidia Graphics Card - GeForce 6800 Series 128MB Login to compare your GFX Card
ATI Graphics Card - Radeon X800 GT
RAM Memory - 1 GB CLICK if you have bought or are going to buy a digital copy of this game

I think thats a good sign if the first episode is 2GB then we will have a very good graphics.
I just hope the game is a classic point and click with the mouse and keyboards. Anyone knows if the game is a classic point and click?
Thanks.
but i dont know if my computer can handle it?
will these FINAL specs be released soon?
also if you buy the game on ps3, do you get the final dvd as well?
i just dont want to miss out on anything.....
also will the game on the ps3 end up being 25 bucks as well? or much much more than that?
do they usually come with bonus materials and whatnot?
1. Telltale probably won't reveal the specs until after the first episode comes out. In the meantime, if you want to see if your computer can run it you should try playing "Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse." It's Telltale's most recent game so far, and presumably its requirements are about the same as BttF's will be. You can download a free demo of the first episode here (or here if you're using a Mac). Try turning down the graphics quality if you have any trouble. If your computer can run The Devil's Playhouse, it'll probably be able to run Back to the Future.
2. You can order the DVD from the store no matter what, but you'll only receive it for free by pre-ordering the PC/Mac version from the Telltale Store. (And only the Telltale Store. You're not eligible for this if you order it off Steam.)
3. If The Devil's Playhouse is any indication, the PS3 versions of each episode will cost as much as their PC/Mac counterparts.
4. Yes, the DVDs come with lots of bonus material.
Hope I was helpful.
Absolutely! Ill check out that demo and see how she runs
Thanks for the help everyone.
You and me both.
I have a ps3, but i want to play this on my xbox....
I'd just like to point out that Telltale games generally use the mouse. It's possible you'll be able to play BttF without touching your keyboard once. (Although the WASD method of movement is much easier than holding the mouse down, in my opinion.)
The whatnot section has been well covered with previous releases so I think it's safe to expect the tradition to go on (S&M discs have hilarious blooper reels).
Nonetheless, I'm merging this thread with the previous one, which already consists of multiple threads I merged.
As you can see above, Ben from the TTG team suspects the game to run on Sam&Max Season3-compatible systems. Hope that comment is still up-to-date.
If has the wireless controllers & the Wii (and PS3 color changing vibrator thingy) would be the BEST for controlling a game such as any PNC title.
I hope not. I don't want the wii the drag the whole game down. Just like ToMI.
It's not exactly a point and click. Moreover it's stupid. If it was, the BEST is the PC ...
But from what we've heard, it's playable on PC, and will be fully enjoyable on a pad (like for the ps3). I guess there won't be elements you actually have to "point", only things that are at Marty's range that you could select while pressing a button, instead of using a joypad to move the cursor just to reach something.
It's the best thing they could have done, if they indeed did that.
Cauz really, either it's as good as the Runaway, either the point and click shouldn't be used, since it's really a pain in TellTale Games (like the last Sam and Max and ToMI) because of the 3D dynamic camera.

Are You Kidding ME?!?!?!!?
I need a computer with the power of playing COD: Black Ops just to play BTTF?!?!?!?!!?
my computer gets 1.9GHz tops
IT has the Video Memory, the HDD space etc all but the Processor.
DAMNIT!!!!!!!
BTTF is no reason to go buy a PS3, what does Telltale have against Microsoft?
Why don't they release on Xbox 360?
Is it because they think it will not sell well on a 360?
Trust me if you announce to the world that you're gonna make/release a GOOD Back To The Future Game, on the first week it releases, it would sell more then Monday Night Combat did in a whole Month.
or
Are they afraid that people are gonna pirate the Xbox 360 version of the game?
I got bad news for Telltale
They might as well make the game a PS3 exclusive then, cause People are more likely gonna pirate it for the PC/MAC Version then a Console Version.
If Telltale wanted to Give BTTF to ALL the Fans they would release it to all Consoles: Wii, Xbox 360 and the PS3!
Hello John007c and welcome to the forums!
Pre-orders have started for PC only, and I'm sure TTG are quite pleased with the number of orders placed so far. It's true that piracy on PC is a grave problem, but it's the platform that this company has started out with and obviously achieved more than satisfying sales. In any other case, a cooperation with Universal would have been unlikely.
Also, the quite mixed new target group of the BTTF game will make sure that not only the pirates are addressed.
That said, I'm really sorry that it's likely you can't play the BTTF game. It's only been one year since I updated my 2.6 GHz computer, and by then I was really fed up with this 6-year old machine not being able to play ANYTHING. It ran Tales of Monkey Island, though.
If you still have 1.9 GHz, it's likely that your computer is older than 6-7 years; that's about the time that even consoles outdate, too. If updating is any option for you, go for it. It's probably worth it.
/edit: I looked at that site. They don't have a clue, starting with their inexistent knowledge of episodic gaming. It's episodes, not "Game 1", "Game 2" and "Game 5". And naturally, all the episodes have the same system requirements!! Let's wait for the official requirements and not listen to these guys.
I don't think there's any need for people to still be using integrated graphics these days if you have a desktop. You can pick up a new Radeon HD4350 1024MB for £30/$45, or maybe something used but with higher specs for a similar price on eBay. ATI graphics cards IMO appear to be better value than Nvidia and they've never let me down once in 6 years. It's not that hard to slot a card in your PC and plug it in either, and I'm not much of a technician!
No idea about laptops, though - never bought one. I'd rather sacrifice portability for performance and value for money any day. And as for Apple... well. Don't get me started :P
Nothing. It's Microsoft which is the problem, not Telltale. If they could do it on xbox live they would, but they can't. Blame Microsoft.
I'd prefer to play BttF on my 360 -just because I wanna see what crazy achievement names they could come up with and I loves me cheevos- but I know it may not ever happen (or at least, us 360 players won't get it until all 5 chapters are in the can and we get either a standalone disc or full game download) so... PC it is for me in the interim.
Just hope the specs are released soon so I can see if my laptop will be able to run it.
Well if it's just for that, they're gonna have the equivalent on PS3 so you can still check them out ^^ .
I'm having both a 360 and a ps3 so I'm lucky in this case, since I want to play it on my big screen :O .
Poker Night is slower than Sam and Max 3 for a few reasons. One is Tycho's cartoon rendering. Another is that the Inventory itself is actually a very complex environment. A third is that the real time shadows are higher quality.
BTTF doesn't have to worry about Tycho, and as of Poker Night we are letting you turn off shadows independently of other graphics settings. So I would guess BTTF will be more in line with Sam and Max 3, especially if you can live without shadows.
CPU speed isn't nearly as important as a decent GPU. You really want a non-integrated card that supports shader model 3.0. If you have the GPU, I would imagine the game would run with 1.9 GHZ.
Yay, answers! Thanks a bunch, Ben. I did have a hunch that the Inventory was actually pretty damn complex and might be a reason as to why there was so much chugging.
