Most hilarious moments in Ep3 *Spoilers* (of course)

edited January 2008 in Sam & Max
Just rushed through it :).

What were the most hilarious moments in your opinion?

I loved the "rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle", won't you guy get sued by Ron Gilbert or something :)?

Another thing was the Whack-a-Rat thingy in the Casino, please more of these reference-jokes.

BTW, is the Tiger Clock in Sybil's office just coincidence or was it inspired by some other feline-shaped clock in a very old, but related game?

So what were you're best moments with Ep3?

That awkward battle between Sam and Bosco towards the end of the "Do you have any..." loop.:D

I'm not finished yet (still have to "rub out" Sybil), but so far, my favorite parts are:
    • The disturbing bear heads song
    • Bosco and Sam's "Do you have any..." argument
    • Bosco's analysis of someone's secret association determined solely by what section of the paper they were reading.
Wasn't too laugh out loud funny, but it was nice to see Bosco's reaction when you shot up his store.

    I love this. Very funny.

My personal favourite went something like:
Sam: "We should head for the casino, Max."
Max: "Oh good, I've been looking for something to do since I found out that Sudoku didn't involve ritual suicide."

Oh, and "I wonder if I can get buried in that desk...does that sound wierd?"
    Odd, but amusing.

I felt like the password guesses were references to a lot of things, but didn't really get them.

    Of the ones I remember:
Swordfish was possibly a reference to the movie Swordfish?
Rosebud is a reference to Citizen Kain.
Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia is a movie.
...and I can't remember the others.

"Whos your daddy" is another funny password guess

i also like max's "dont do that im tickleish" and "i have to pee" lines

harry's "ok, you can stop shooting him now" line gave me a chuckle too

Actually, I think "swordfish" is a reference to discworld? (unless that was a reference to something older, which is more likely)

That, my good sir, was my absolute favorite line.

The bug and the casino song were the highlights for me.

Also, I positively squirmed with delight when Sam mentioned sasquatch fur to Bosco.

    1. I loved the way that scene is animated!!

    2. Yeah, that was funny, but also kind of sad.

    3. How do you find that joke?

    4. Hmm, didn't think about that. TIME FOR A REPLAY!!

    5. I don't remember stumbling upon that one. What room is it in?

    6. That joke was funnier in Hit the Road given
    where they left the car

Yep answering machine messages were good.. There was another great exchange when sam and max were talking amongst themselves when they first enter the casino and the guy who greets you said if I had holes in the ears of this teddy bear head I could hear exactly what you were secretly saying in front of me..I'm sure I messed that up but you know the joke..

"I've got two simple tasks for you"
    "The sandwich got stolen"
"I've got three simple tasks for you"
  • edited February 2007
another good line was when the mafia guy said its good to see you've already dressed up as a dog and a rabbit when talking about sam and max joining the mob :)

The Marx Brothers, in Horse Feathers.

You can read more about it here (and there's another Sam & Max reference, interestingly enough!)

P.S. For the record, I did know about it before I looked it up on Wikipedia! I just had to be sure...

A "Swordsfish password" gag was in "Horse Feathers", a movie starring Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo Marx. ;)

EDIT: Whooops, Sir Lemming we posted at the same time!

Yeah, that has to be my favourite line as well. Other funny bits were the answering machine messages, the Midtown Cowboys rerun (and Max's reaction to it, in a reference to the whole voice actor debate, I think), shooting out the window, and that whole "Do you have any..." sequence... and Bosco was great again, with the whole French revolutionary theme going on... mon-sewer. :D

    Rosebud in video games
    # A password in Final Fantasy VI
    # A cheat code in The Sims
    # The last words of General Fettgesicht, the final boss of Wolfenstein 3D

    - Also the intro password to the "hacking" game Uplink
(Maybe the Citizen Kain reference spawned these)

Max's "death" scene. Especially when the sombre music kicks in :D

Sam: Does the carpet match the drapes!
Bosco: Non! And you know why? Because ze man doesn't want them to! He's frightened by their potential unification!

I don't know why, but that one cracked me up!

A rubber chicken with a pully in the middle.

    Yay for Monkey Island references!!!!

Everyone missed the Princess Bride quote..... Incontheevable!

All in all I think this was the best episode so far actually! A little short - yes... but the most laughs! I never really liked the soda poppers... but mafia is always fun! So the best so far! No doubt! Keep it up telltale!

Torturing Leonard with yo mamma jokes was great ^_^
  • edited February 2007
I guess that I think the answering mashine and the "Do you have any..."-thingie was funniest.

When max ate the "webcam" was really funny too. :D

    Also....

How exactly did the ketchup get removed from Sybil?

  • edited February 2007
By the way, I feel kinda stupid for seeing this only now, but only this time I noticed that the ending of the credit section is different in each game :)

    My thoughts exactly! ;)

I like it when Sam asks Max why the office seems so quiet and Max replies that it's because they are fumigating the place, but he forgot to tell him about it! :D
