Hey guys, looks like I'll be coming along as well. I cant wait to meet up, have a few drinks, and talk games with you guys!
  • edited August 2011
Wednesday night (German time) looks to be the time we're doing this. How many folks do we have going so far? I may or may not be bringing some cool goodies along so I'll need a headcount.
  • edited August 2011
Well, for now it seems to be 5 people besides you guys: Mermaid, Vainamoinen, Xpider, Lactoseintoleranceschwert, I mean me, + one special surprise guest for Alan and Mark (if he can make it).

How about meeting at 8 p.m. in front of the exhibition hall?

Oh, Majus might join us, too?! :) I might have to bring my HD camcorder...

On Wednesday, there is the Nordic Game Party at the "Bootshaus"

    http://nordicparty.eventbrite.com/

Maybe, we can head over there all together. I am there every year.

Another convention with Telltale, another one I can't go to due to the cash and location. Curses!

Nah, it's not Majus (though I'd wish he'd come too!), but someone you wouldn't know.

And I don't think the Bootshaus qualifies as a quiet, well lit, smoke free place, does it?

Huh? A surprise guest for Alan and Mark who they know but I wouldn't?

As for the Bootshaus: do we have to get any VIP passes or something for that?
  • edited August 2011
Not quiet, not well lit, not smoke free ;-) You'll just need to register, then you'll get your free Ticket. No VIP. Drinks and Food will be not free.

But a nice Party, in and outdoor.
There are often Groups, who get together, in front of the "Bootshaus", to have a talk.

But anyway, I didn't mean, to head over there immediately. Maybe later on.

8 pm is fine, although my overnight accommodation is endangered if we're running late, which seriously bothers me now. It now looks like the last possible bus/train departs at around 11:52, so I'd have a big sad. So let's see:

    + Mark :D :D :D
    Departure time :( :(
    FREEBIES :D :D (S&M3OSTFTW)
    No Majus :( :( :(
    Surprise guest

That's three in a row. We have to go elsewhere. :(

I think I found a good place for us:

    http://www.deutzerbahnhof.de/start.html

It's right inside the train station Vainamoinen arrives at.

And don't get crazy because of the "surprise guest"... it's actually someone only Alan knows, so don't get excited.

That looks mighty fine. Looks like they've got space. I just found an extra hour opportunity, so I can be there until 1 am (if they're open that long :D :D ).

    Reservation??
  • edited August 2011
    Reservation??
    I'll check.

Edit: All right, I've reserved a table. Just in case.

    Thanks a million!
    ..."Hauptraum", "Empore" or "Saal"? :D
  • edited August 2011
I think "Hauptraum"... she told me on the phone that the "Empore" isn't usually open, unless it's really crowded, but we need to order food to be placed in the "Saal". I told her just to make the reservation, and if we change our mind once there, we'll just move to another table.

Ah screw this, I shall join you guys!
On thursday night I am in Berlin anyways (Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes concert!!). On my way home I take a detour to cologne then.

Though that means I wont be able to attend the Adventure Treff, that would be too much travel and moneyspending in one week. Sadness. But it's for a greater cause!

Ooh yes, epic wednesday coming up! Can't wait!
Thanks to Lightcycle for organizing this!

Supi! So to sum things up for everyone:

    Wednesday, August 17th 2011, 8 pm
    Deutzerbahnhof.de, Cologne

    Mark
    Alan
    Laserstrahl
    Vainamoinen
    Xpider
    Majus
    Mermaid
    U.N. Owen

and goodies. Sounds like we're gonna have some serious fun.

So if we arrive separately, do we have to ask for the nerd table at the reception?

    ...corrected that for you.

What, the "Vainamoinen the Important Person"-table? ... I'm fine with that.

Whoops, Majus avatar change. Need to acclimatize first.

You guys should totally record this like Shauntron did in the Comic-Con and post daily videos ...

Good idea! We'll try to film a couple of things for ya, but be warned... I don't get to carry around nice video cameras like Shaun does. I'll just be using my phone.

Alright! This is gonna be awesome!

We'll do our best but as Telltale's presence at Gamescom is only during the business/press portion of the show, we won't have much to film in terms of "cool stuff on the show floor" as we fly out Friday morning.

But yeah, our iPhone cameras might be able to knock a video out. MAYBE.

Okay, forum friends, this is gonna be my first trip to Germany. (Heck apart from a few islands and a bordering country, I'll be my first real trip away from the US)

Help me prepare. If this were an adventure game, what should I pack to survive?

    :)
  • edited August 2011
    Handgunscannons.
  • edited August 2011
A length of rope, twelve packs of bubblegum, and a teleportation toy phone should cover it.

    Cologne ≠ London

And what to bring? Well, free stuff inventory items for the German fans :D
  • edited August 2011
A rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle. Oh, it won't help, but I want to see what airport security thinks about it.

An umbrella wouldn't be a bad idea with the weather we've been having for the past...uh...8 weeks?

A dictionary? :) Most of us are bilingual but some refuse to speak English. :D

Euros. You might have heard of them. It's a currency outside the U.S.

Also, the official plural is "Euro". ;)

Every time I see this thread, I keep on thinking it's about some sort of Telltale brand of men's perfume. Which would be an interesting and rather odd direction for the company to take...

    Here's the million-dollar question:

What does it smell like exactly? Banang?
  • edited August 2011
Given how sweaty everybody is at those conventions, I wouldn't want to know how that smells... it's probably just collected sweat from Alan and Mark. :D

    Ewww...

I'd probably still buy it though...
