  • Did they stop playing since... Saturday night, I think? Because that's when I watched your video about the Avengers cartoon.

Yeah, I post my stuff over on DoubleFine these days. I'm only really here as a mod, not a community member. Glad to see you've subscribed to m

Really? Huh. Didn't work for me a couple weeks ago when I tried to watch them then.

I re-watched a bunch of my older reviews while waiting for EWJ to compile. Wow, they're not very good at ALL, are they? Might have to do something about that one of these days...

  • Sucks about Blip though, it's my preferred method of watching your stuff, mostly because it's not been hacked to bits to appease the copyright bots on Youtube.

Yeah. I'll have a look around, see if I can find somewhere else. I'm sure there's a couple of decent sites out there.

I have to say, I'm a little surprised YouTube didn't nuke my EWJ3D review for the two second snippet of 'Stayin Alive' I used. Shows how little faith I have in them really, doesn't it.

  • Have you considered Vimeo? I think the basic accounts are free and they offer 500 MB in uploads and 1 HD video per week.

  • I'll look into it, thanks. Bit busy at the moment though, hint hint.

  • Foreshadowing...

  • I liked the Earthworm Jim review. Personally after all the old 3D platformer reviews are done I'm hoping to see an review of BTTF The Game or maybe JP The Game. I liked BTTF The Game but it would be fun to see a review of it from someone who's been playing TTG's games for longer.

Probably won't do anything by Telltale, sorry.

A lot of the stuff I review is something I encountered when I was younger - most of the games I tackle, for example, are actually ones I played years ago, so I have somewhat of a personal connection with them. I suppose in some ways going back and talking about them grants me closure or something. I dunno, whatever.

The fact that quite a few of the things I look at are relatively obscure or just haven't been looked at in great detail by others in some ways drives me on. No-one else is gonna do it, so I guess I gotta! It's why I try to avoid more well-known stuff, because the better known it is, the more people will have covered it and the less unique my own views on it will be as a result. Vain? Maybe. Do I care? Nope.

It's weird looking at my stuff in retrospect and seeing what I've done. I think the most mainstream thing I did was that "Prelude to the Avengers" video I did, or maybe The Man With The Golden Gun. After that, it's all relatively unknown. And I kind of like it that way.

Besides, I've got quite a few 3D Devolution games to cover. I don't really mind telling you what a few of them are - Prince of Persia 3D, Fade to Black, Castlevania 64... you'll know when I'm done with the whole sub-genre when I finally hit the atom bomb that is Bubsy 3D.

Oh, and I've got other plans as well. More of Demons, more movies no-one's ever heard of... I got stuff to come. Hopefully people will enjoy it. We'll see.

Finally - keep your fingers crossed that I can finish my current project(s). If I do, then keep your eyes peeled next week...

  • Hey, it's the week of Halloween! Let's celebrate with a look at some licensed abominations.

    Another tomorrow!

  • I think there's a problem with your title sequence. It's got the brightness cranked all the way down.

  • 'twas intentional. It IS Halloween, after all.

  • Makes sense.

  • Forgot to link to this yesterday, but that's when it went up, so IT STILL COUNTS DAMMIT.

  • Not skipping today!

  • So, are we dealing with an Uwe Boll situation, where Blast was getting some kind of massive tax break for making these awful things? Or did they honestly think they were making quality content? And just how many TARDISes (TARDII?) do you have, anyway?

  • Blast knew full well what they were doing... they just didn't care. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and I'm sure they made quite a bit of profit in the four years they were operational.

And just how many TARDISes (TARDII?) do you have, anyway?

If you count the Series 1 DVD Boxset shaped like a TARDIS, 4.

  • Yeah but no but NO.

Will you be doing a review of the Mr.Bean game made by Blast?

  • edited October 2013

Nope. Can't find footage of it online. Maybe next time when I have more time to do these...

Will you be doing a review of the Mr.Bean game made by Blast?

  • What about the Casper game they made?

  • So I tried to find the master list of games this company made, but Wikipedia doesn't believe this company actually exists. And Google lists a ton of other companies called Blast Entertainment before this one.

  • edited October 2013

@ryannumber1gamer - Nope. The two I've got left are WORSE.

@Gibbeynator - It's not a complete list (it doesn't have the DS/Wii games, for example) but here's a good list of their stuff. The two games I've yet to cover are on there though, so have fun scanning through them trying to figure out which ones they could be!

  • In that case, I guess Beverly Hills Cop and Postman Pat.

  • edited November 2013

Well you were right about one of those games Gibbey. Darth's review today is Beverly Hills Cop.

  • Unfortunately I spotted a nasty visual error in the video, so I've had to take that one down while I recompile it.

There goes THIS evening's editing plans...

But yeah, it IS Beverly Hills Cop. And trust me... you'll want to see this one when it's done.

  • So now that you can review PS2 games. Can we expect any other PS2 reviews?

Also if Postman Pat, or Bob the Builder is the next review.....how do you even make a game out of those?

  • edited November 2013

There's one or two PS2 games I have my eye on, but eh... not for a while.

And I've no idea how you'd make a Postman Pat game. Or a Bob the Builder one, for that matter. Hint hint.

Two reviews left. Can you guess them?

EDIT: Video's up now! Eh, it's Friday somewhere.

  • edited November 2013

Well, I know how I'd do a Bob the Builder game; make a Sim City clone.

  • Why, that's almost as smart as making a Tower Defence Home Alone game!

Anyway. Who likes board games? I do! Wish I was playing one.

  • One would wonder if these people actually watched Jumanji (either the movie or the cartoon) before making this... thing.

  • And with minutes to spare, I present Day 7.

Phew! Done! Now let's never do this again..

  • I think Blast Entertainment got eaten up by Mastertronic. At least, that's what their site redirected me to when I went there.

  • Did you not see my first video? Mastertronic CO-FOUNDED them. Probably disbanded them after sales dropped and their reputation became toxic.

  • Ahh, well, that explains that.

  • Looks like you may have gotten some grace or something, I can still visit your blip page.

  • Really? Huh. Might see if I can upload any videos there then. Probably not, but you never know.

  • Err, spoke too soon, it's gone now.

  • Oh. Well, there you go.

  • So, with the anniversary coming up, do you have a Doctor Who themed review coming up?
