I'm still super-psyched about this, but it seems a bit more nickel-and-dimey than other Kickstarters up until now. Asking an extra $15 for a Steam code when someone's already put down $100 seems a tad excessive. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the campaigns.
I figured it had something to do with the European shipping cost issue?
I just checked out the prototype and one of my first thoughts was, Oh, yeah, Sierra-style narration, SQ-style comedy! I think the quickie demos are a great idea, but there's not much more to say about this first one. I couldn't be happier seeing this campaign get off to such a great start.

No, it's $100 for the physical stuff edition, without any int'l shipping, and then there's a $115 tier for the physical box plus a digital copy. Just seems kind of cheap when every other campaign has included digital copies at the higher tiers, and it costs them nothing to provide a Steam code.
I also like the demo idea a lot. Looking forward to how it will be iterated as the campaign moves along.
Have the guys answered why they aren't doing a Space Quest sequel? If so, could you direct me to a quote? Thanks.
Here's an audio quote from the two guys with some information on the subject. I accessed the quote after playing the first prototype.
EDIT: the Space Quest IP talk starts 57 seconds in.
Yeah, it's gonna be a great game if it achieves funding. Their 2 mottos: "Make a game WE would want to play!" (same as they had for SQ1) and "Nothing is sacred".
Really nice encouraging post in the KS comments for this project:
"Greetings all! I hope that everyone will pitch in and help Scott/Mark get the funding needed to build a game. The world needs a bit of humor about now, and in true Space Quest style the Two Guys from Andromeda may have what we most need."

Don't know that endorsements get any better than that.. It's at least one step towards getting Ken & Roberta off that boat!
The interface is going to include a hybrid point & click / text parser!!!
Basic things such as moving around, touching things, opening things + looking at things are going to be controlled by point & click, but more advanced things can be typed into the parser.
I know I sometimes get "spoilered" by point & click games that do advanced actions just when you hover the mouse over them/click on an item. It also gives the opportunity to type in some crazy stuff + have the game respond.
Already chipped into this. Might up my pledge too. Currently, I'm replaying some Tex Murphy and seeing how much I'm devoted to seeing another one of those compared to this. I've been putting a bit too much into Kickstarter, so I wont be pledging high for both.
The video chat was really fun. These guys are clearly putting a lot of heart and effort into this game, and I'm sure it will be great:) However, that is only if they get the necessary funding, so make sure you contribute, everyone, or even consider upping your pledeges if you can .
I really hope they add a $200 tier... I will stop eating for a while to pledge in a tier like that.... I wish I could afford the $250 tier.. the lets play DVD sounds like it will be awesome.
I wish these Kickstarters weren't all going on at the same time. I want to support them all but I've spent so much already on these things.
That said, I'm still supporting this one, and if Lori and Corey Cole emerge from the woodwork wanting to make another Quest for Glory, I will support the ever lovin' crap out of that one.
I am sort of surprised that this one isn't doing better... Space Quest comes up so much on these boards... Here are the Two Guys trying to make a new game.. a quest if you will.. In space.
Prototype 2 is out! Find all three deaths! Bask in Mark's amazing artwork and Scott's hilarious dialogue! The prototype is available in the Chrome store so it will only work in Chrome for now. The final game WILL NOT require a browser and the engine is still not decided upon.
I loved all the interactions in the second prototype. Here's hoping they add taste and smell as well in the next one.
Yeah, this second prototype was significantly better than the first. The art style is wonderfully vibrant. Here's hoping it helps give the funding rate a significant boost.

They just updated the $100 tier to include a DRM-free download of SpaceVenture.
The $115 tier has been updated to include 2 DRM-free downloads of Space Venture and credit to download 3 Space Quest games from GOG.com.
Actually, the $115 tier only has a credit to download one SQ package from GOG (either SQ1-3 or SQ4-6). Only the $750 tier and higher now has all 6 games (both GOG packages).
Take a look at the new reward tier spreadsheet, though. There are multiple exciting changes!

The game is 51% funded now, with just under 14 days left. It's going to be close + will rely on a big push at the end to get funded, unless the daily average picks up.
Live commentary/chat tonight at http://www.twitch.tv/andromedaguys on the creation of the original Space Quest 1. Should be worth a listen for all adventure gaming fans.:D 6:30pm PST / 9:30pm EST
There was a fan-initiated "Superfan Hangout" via Google Hangouts last night where fans got together and played the Space Quest games. After a while Scott showed up out of nowhere and joined in the fun! I couldn't make it, unfortunately, I guess Google Hangout doesn't like my computer very much as it kept crashing. But I'm told it was an incredible 4 hours and the video is available for watching!
That superfan thing was a lot of fun to watch I wish I could have taken part.. although I am not nearly in the same league of fandom as those guys and gal.

With 2,415 $15 backers, it would be a good start if everyone at that level raised their pledges to at least $30 (digital soundtrack and beta access).
