Hard to believe that this one probably isn't going to go all the way. I guess it's the lack of the real Space Quest name. Still, you'd think a brand new Sierra-esque game would do better then just a remake of one.

Don't count us out yet. We can still pull it off. We just have to keep the message alive where we can! Keep getting the word out. *Field of Dreams whispers* If we post, they will pledge.
I think we just need to promote this as much as we can and get the word out. There are heaps of fans out there that have no idea that this is happening.
Damn it looks like this kickstarter will be a close call. I've never played Space Quest (I played STAR QUEST! ), so I'm not all hyped, but when Kickstarters like that fail, it really is a shame. We've only got so many chances to let these "guys" and some other old school dev heroes make games again. This really should be funded.
There's no PayPal link yet because Kickstarter doesn't accept it. Paypal takes the money instantly, but Amazon allows the funds to be taken only if it is successful. Projects usually add a link to a Paypal account once they are safely past the target so it doesn't remove pledges from Kickstarter.
If you aren't interested enough to check out that, but are a fan of Sierra games, you should still check out the page it takes you to after finishing for a sweet photo:
This morning the Two Guys revealed the main character for their new SpaceVenture along with some other details, so for those on the fence wanting more info... here's the new star of SpaceVenture!
Just a thought, only big Seirra fans are likely to know who Two Guys From Andromeda are. If one of the mods added "the makers of Space Quest" in brackets in the forum title more people would be likely to read this thread and find out about the project. I know I didn't find out about it until yesterday and the only reason I did find out about it is because I was reading the Space Quest 7 thread.
Edit: Also, check out this interview at AdventureGamers!
Agree that would be helpful if a mod could do that.
There is currently a live interview with Ellen McLean (GLaDOS from Portal 1 & 2, Overwatch from Half-Life 2, Administrator from Team Fortress 2, Witch from Left for Dead 2 and many more) going on at http://www.twitch.tv/andromedaguys [interview now finished]

Some fans from SpaceQuest.Net got together and in 3 days put together a little one-room adventure game called Pledge Quest to raise awareness and promote funding 2GFA's SpaceVenture. It's a fun little game made out of love and a desire to see SpaceVenture succeed on Kickstarter! Play it! Have some fun! Credits music by yours truly as well.
SpaceVenture has only 5 days left and is just over 70% funded. We need more! Please consider some more loose change! Look at all the cool rewards you can get for just a few more coins! Those at $15, how about considering jumping up to even only $30? You get a sweet game and a soundtrack to boot! Not to mention beta testing access! Or even just an extra $5? What's $5? Nothing, that's what. It's maybe a couple days worth of your morning coffee at Tim Horton's (or wherever you get coffee). LLet SpaceVenture happen! Of course, any amount pledged is appreciated and you're all awesome for doing so anyway.
I just pledged to Geeta Games "Lilly Looking Through" point-and-click Kickstarter project, based on the demo and the modest budget target, and was surprised to see that the Two Guys aren't closer to their goal.
I think what may be making some people reluctant is that only half the team has been actively involved in game development in recent years, and the $500,000 target seems a little off-the-cuff. By contrast, Double Fine has been actively budgeting, producing and releasing products, although on the other hand Jane Jensen's new venture met its funding goals with even less concrete information on offer.
Maybe $400K is just a more realistic target than $500K? Or "Space-Quest-in-all-but-name" isn't what the market really wants? I'd like to think that means the audience would prefer a new IP by these established talents, but I suspect Roger Wilco has more fans than Ace Hardway. Personally I wish the campaign didn't try so blatantly to capitalize on the "Space Quest" legacy -- it's a solid body of work, but this new game is not really a continuation, and the promotional material seems to want to have it both ways.
Also did one with John Patrick Lowrie a couple hours later. Audio not up yet. I'm also still waiting for the audio from Ellen McLain. But these have been fantastic streams!
Also for your convenience the two guys have Created an Official Inventory VIEWER so you can see what your rewards may or may not be depending on your wallet!:
Want to know what the hell Ken Williams has been up to and hear him reminisce about the good ol' Days of Compuserve and the Imagination Network? OH YEAH YOU DO:
THIS is a BIG Item folks: Introducing the official Two Guys from Andromeda REDDIT AMA!!! This was a good one with lots of info to be gleaned for what to expect from this SpaceVenture:
Did I miss anything? I hope this whets your appetite, shows you how ridiculously hardworking and imaginative these guys have been and makes you want to pledge or up that pledge!
With 7 days left, they need to raise on average $24,000 per day to meet the goal.
It's doable but they need some serious marketing to happen.
Oddly enough, it seems that they've been close to keeping up with this amount. They have 3 days left (Tuesday, 5:30pm GMT) and, at $82,316 left, they currently need to raise approximately $27,400 per day to make it.
EDIT: EVERYONE who donated $15 needs to at least upgrade to $30. At present, that means an extra $68,000 for this project, and will put them at only $14,000 away from succeeding!

I decided to upgrade from $100 to $125. The bronze buckazoid was too tempting to pass up.
I got paid a large chunk of overtime at work, so I think I can handle $30 on this one.
It may just make it.
It has $80,000 to go in 70 hours. Its possible.
EDIT: They would have made it easy if they had planned this out more.
Compare this to the Tex Murpy and Carmageddon pitches, those are much better!
The Tex Murphy team show exactly what they can do, and show great confidence and direction.
Same with Carmageddon, the team made an awesome pitch video, showed a lot of interesting stuff, made sure you knew what you were getting, and showed evidence they could make the stuff.
The SpaceVenture has been a bit vague, confusing and unclear.
(And lacks something to attach itself to, but thats not really the pitchers fault to be fair)
I guess they needed to strike while the iron was hot, but I personally would have waited a month or two to make a better pitch before setting out.
Tomorrow, 6/10/12 at 2:45pm PST/5:45pm PST Chris Pope will doing a live interview with Gary 'The Man With The Golden Pipes' Owens. Narrator guy from SQ 4 and 6 and for the upcoming SpaceVenture! I could listen to Gary read the phone book and be thoroughly entertained, so this should be good!

Awesome work.
Isn't there PayPal on Andromeda?!

EDIT: I bumped the Two Guys KS threads on the Double Fine (public and private backer) forums.
Want more info on the reveal? There's a PDF here or a Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation here so check either of those out for all the news!

Wow... I can only hope to look that good at her age. She's almost 60!
Done.
I already look like crap.. and I am half her age.

I really hope the SpaceVenture kickstarter makes it. Out of all of the kickstarters, this one is the one I'm most excited for.
I'm excited for Double Fine Adventure too, but more so with this one because we actually know what it's about.

I bet quite a few people don't want to waste their time investing in kickstarters that look like they will fail in funding.
Check this new video out:
Meet Cluck Y'egger, a new character by the Two Guys From Andromeda for SpaceVenture
It sounds like Cluck will be voiced by Patrick Warburton (Joe from Family Guy, among other things)
Mark Crowe hinted in the AMA that Ellen McLain (GLaDOS) will be playing Rooter (the pet toolbox).

We've also reached the point where having most of the $15 backers upgrade to $30 would get us over the top on this.
EDIT: ...and they backed out. 62k in 56hrs to go.
I fear that this kind of yo-yo effect will occur in an even more extreme fashion in the last hours of the kickstarter...
