Episode 3: Long Road Ahead will be released mid-August, so now we all have to wait, but we can speculate.
In-game, if you view the chapters, you notice a slightly moving poster for each one.
For Long Road Ahead, Carley, Lee and Ben Paul are alive on a train. For Around Every Corner, Kenny, Lee, and another survivor are underneath a manhole. For No Time Left, only Clementine is shown.
I notice that in the previous two chapter posters, A New Day and Starved for Help, that the characters in the posters were alive by the end of the episode. Assuming this holds true, my speculation is that for Episode 3: Long Road Ahead (Carley/Doug, Lee, Clementine, Ben Paul, and Kenny are alive), for Episode 4: Around Every Corner (Lee, Clementine, and Kenny are alive), and for Episode 5: No Time Left (Lee and Clementine are alive).
Based on the Long Road Ahead preview, I assume Katjaa, Duck, and Lilly will also be alive for Episode 3.
I also notice that in the previous two chapter posters, A New Day and Starved for Help, that the images show the near end of the episode: Lee, Clementine, and Carley escaping the drug store (of course, Carley’s survival is your call) in A New Day, and Lilly, Kenny, and Lee looking tense in the meat locker in Starved for Help. Thus, the train ride shown in the poster for Episode 3 is probably near the episode’s end.
The Long Road Ahead preview starts with Kenny noting Macon is materially exhausted, suggesting that they will be leaving. Whether this is at the beginning of the episode or near the end is unclear.
Then, Kenny and Lilly are arguing about resources, so Lee will probably have to choose who to agree with.
Kenny’s gets his RV working, so off we go, but I don’t see Ben Paul or Lilly in the RV. Maybe the group split off, deciding to take different paths to reach the same destination. If one can choose which route to take, that will enhance replayability.
There is a very brief scene from the trailer where Lee headshots someone approaching the motor inn. The person was wearing a mask, so I speculate it was a bandit. I am curious what will be found on his body.
In every episode so far, Lee has to choose whether to save/kill someone. This will likely continue.
I speculate that there may be booby traps set by survivors. Episode 2 had the bear trap. Maybe a future one could be a land mine, spike pit, or something else. The survivors could accidentally find a survivor stronghold by triggering or almost triggering a booby trap.
I don’t expect this, but what if Lee had to use a weapon with limited ammunition, so for all zombie encounters, he had to choose whether to fire, use a melee weapon, or go around.
I expect, but not necessarily in Episode 3, that eventually the survivors will learn Lee’s identity probably by finding an old newspaper. Lee being convicted of killing a senator should be major news, but not everyone watches the news which is why various characters have asked Lee to identify himself.
I don’t expect this, but what if the other survivors in Lee’s group lied to him. Up to this point, Lee has chosen how honest to be with other players, but has he thought about how honest his fellow group survivors are with him? Whether they are minor or major, few or many, if the lies are not only being told by Lee, then suddenly the group dynamics become more interesting. Does everyone become more paranoid? Maybe they can empathize and forgive each other. Maybe the group fractures. Maybe Telltale Games has a better idea.
Nice. You got a lot of reasoning from the preview images alone. Remember that Ben is in the RV if look closely, and that IS Lee shooting the bandit. I can only assume that the bandit retaliates because Lee and the others had trashed the dairy, breaking off their connection and means of food.
Yeah, liked it... Just some corrections: In the train we can see Ben, Lee and DUCK, not Carley, unless our images are different. Also, the person that we see with Lee and Kenny, is shown on the episode two preview, killing a walker.
My predictions:
Lee, Kenny, Clementine, and the girl in the preview, are safe. Doug/Carley, will probably be with you untill the last episode... Probably Duck or Katjaa will die. Lilly will leave the group. Ben.... no idea. He migth die, but I think he will survive. We also see two new characters: A guy with white hair, and another man, that is killing walkers with the other girl. For me, those guys have "DEAD" stamped on their heads.
We see that they come back to the drug store, and it blew up!!! maybe someone used napalm, just like (SPOILERS) in the TV series.... And maybe we can see a Carley/Doug zombie!!!
We see Lee killing a bandit, and maybe that could be a choice.
They leave the motel, probably because there are no more resources. Towards the coast, I think.
I think, that in this episode, there is one character (Kenny or Lilly, depending on your choices) that will have your back, and count on you.
Also, we see a house with "SOS" written on the roof. Maybe that is the Train station.
In the end, we see Lilly screaming. There are three charcatres missing: Clem, Duck and Katjaa. I understand that the kids are probably in the RV, because they can't participate on the discussion. But what about Katjaa? Is she dead??? Is she taking care of the kids? Or maybe, they found someone wounded, and she is healing him... But in the end, we can understand that Lilly is REALLY pissed off.... maybe because someone (Kenny, in my guess) suggested something, and she does not agree with that. And she already lost once, about leaving the Motel. Maybe thats another choice, agree, ore desagree with her. And she will probably lose, and that's when she leaves to ......(spoilers)..WOODBURY...
Well, as long as it's not electrical and the tracks aren't blocked/destroyed it should work just fine.
That is what im worried about, the electrical part.
I hope TTG is smart enough to come with a solution.
Maybe they have Diesel locomotives in the states at common idk. Then you need LOADS of fossil fuels.
A locomotive with an old steam engine would be rare to find, let stand alone it would work, isn't believable either.
So yeah, but im that kind of guy that notices small things that are of realism.
I realy dont mind though it is a game but still.
Same with TWD the TV show,
that guy that cut of his hand in se1 didnt have to.
He was cuffed to a smal m8 or m10 thread. What was already rusty. Takes you 3 min to get trough.
Yet the explanation in the show is, he could not get trough the cuffs so he sawed of his hand.
And did not even tried to cut trough the thread where he was cuffed to

Well if you look at Macon on google maps, there is a huge train yard. So maybe it wouldn't be that hard to find an engine ready to go. Who knows how far they would get though.
Well if you look at Macon on google maps, there is a huge train yard. So maybe it wouldn't be that hard to find an engine ready to go. Who knows how far they would get though.
Yeah found it, in the east section good thing you noticed that.
To be curious im going to follow the tracks to find out where they can head to.
they probably head to lots of places. I just looked at Macon to see the location of Woodbury and Savannah from Macon, they're in opposite directions. And I noticed the train yard.
The Governor will tell Lees gang they can join woodbury if Clem is given to the Governor and Lily says "We can't let one person mess this up for the rest of us"
The train "4070" can work if it doesn't run on electricity. If they have enough coal to boil water, to create steam, and make the turbines rotate.... I think that's how it works.... So, if 4070 was working before the apocalypse, the rails must be clean and usable.
Probably in this episode Lilly will split, because she thinks the group shoul go to (spoilers) Woodbury, and Kenny to Ft. Lauterdale. Maybe you have to decide between them, but one way or another, you will be in the train, with Kenny, and Lilly is gone.
This is probably more like wishful thinking than a prediction but I really, really hope that as the group is leaving Macon next episode I want Lee to confront a Doug/Carley walker!
While shooting, stabbing and bludgeoning random walkers is all well and good, having to face someone who you formerly knew is a lot more harrowing. It also reminds Lee of a former failure of his in not being able to save both in the drugstore. Just imagine the scenario of Lee opening a door and bang! Doug/Carley walker wants to take a bite!
Having the surviving Doug/Carley with you on the supply run would also add some poignancy.
How would they react? both showed some kind of survivor guilt and hinted they had feelings for each other. Maybe they freeze and hesitate when Lee is being attacked or just stand still "I'm so sorry Doug/Carley, I'm so sorry..." and Lee has to rush to their rescue!
Please remember them TellTale, although I'd be disappointed, at least add some kind of background cameo. A where's Waldo/Wally moment!
The Governor will tell Lees gang they can join woodbury if Clem is given to the Governor and Lily says "We can't let one person mess this up for the rest of us"
So Lilly is against the Governor? SPOILERS(comic)Lilly works for the Governor when she comes to Woodbury.
The Governor will tell Lees gang they can join woodbury if Clem is given to the Governor and Lily says "We can't let one person mess this up for the rest of us"
I expect that the RV breaks down which pisses off Lilly (she didn't want to abandon the motel and blaming Kenny for this) because now they're stuck out in the middle of nowhere and they need to find new transportation (the train).
ya know i've never watched the shows and right now i've taped all but two through ten cause i came in late on the marathon. and i've never read the comics but i kinda want to see the governor in the game
I think Lee and Clem get kicked out of woodbury when Lee won't hand Clem over to the Governor so they have to go find kenny
That would actually be great, because it would split the story more than every choice ever made. If you choose Lilly, you will go with her to Woodbury, meet the Governor, and eventually have to return to Kenny. If you choose Kenny, it's a completly diferent experience, and you will probably do something, that you wouldn't, if you went to Woodbury..
then why don't you go the extra mile and make this the Episode three four and five predictions?
So you get your wish. But don't come running to me should your platform get episode 3 a few days later than others and you suddenly find yourself spoiled in here for episodes you haven't played yet!
I think Lee and Clem get kicked out of woodbury when Lee won't hand Clem over to the Governor so they have to go find kenny
I REALLY hope they don't show us the governor. It's just so completely unlikely that after meeting Glenn AND Hershel (and Lilly as well), Lee would trod Rick's future path even more. Those are exactly the kind of coincidences Kirkman avoids to get an inch of reality into his world. You don't meet people twice. If someone runs away into the zombie-infested world in his comics, you'll never see the guy again, not even as a zombie.
I predict Clem's mom made it home a while after Clem and Lee left. and is always like one step behind them
Quite unlikely...
Even if shes not dead, which is unlikely, she would have to have known where Lee and Clemantine have gone. How would she find out they went to Hershalls farm? And if she got there, how would she then find out they went to Macon? And where abouts in Macon would she look for them?
Her odds of finding Clem, especially in a walker filled city and infested areas surrounding it, are impossibly small.
she's traveling with her own group they're following in the gangs footsteps. They met Andre who told them about the farm Herschel mentioned overhearing they were going to Macon etc
The girl seen in the episode 3 trailer is also seen in the debut trailer. In it, Lee is seen pulling Kenny away from her, which looks like she commits suicide.
I just realized... I don't care what happens in Episode Three, I just want to Dome that Bandit like in the preview... Plus a few of his Rapist buddies too, if TTG allows.
Lee, Kenny, and Doug/Carley go to the drug store to get the last bit of supplies, and they run into zombie Doug/Carley. (maybe they already know zombie Doug/Carley hang out there. I didn't get in EP. 2 when Carley said she couldn't sleep b/c of drug store.)
Bandits attack the motor inn. They leave in the RV, but it breaks down(probably a radiator hose). they make their way to to train station and find new people(maybe a train operator).
They find a working train. I wonder which direction they'll go woodbury and Savannah are in opposite directions? I think Lilly gets separated from the group somehow before the train leaves or during the ride. Maybe the group thinks they're headed toward Woodbury but are actually going the other way. And after getting lost Lily heads toward Woodbury to try and join the group, story to be told in upcoming novel.
And along the way the train tracks are blocked and you have to try and clear them with lots of walkers around.
Episode ends with train going down the tracks toward Savannah.

So there you have it.
