my issues have been that the game is VERRRRYYYY slow to start downloading then it trickles along for about an hour or so sometimes less then at 27% or 3% or 85% it will say internet connection lost it has been this way since friday no change just loses the connection at different percentages
also on the STEAM version of TWD episode 1 works but when I try to start ep 2 I get a black screen and nothing else I attempted on both sites TT and STEAM to uninstall reinstall deleted saved games then played through ep 1 hoping it would trigger a response to somehow get ep 2 to work but nothing has helped me I really love this game and I really want to play ep 2
PLEASE HELP!!!!!:(
Amen brother.... Same exact problem is faced from my side as well
Hi Mike, thanks for the response. My download is swift until about 50% then its gets slower, for example, as I was bored during one of the many downloads I started timing each percentage move and 1-49% was between 7-10 seconds per percentage point moved but 51-68% where is stops, general takes upward of 30 seconds per percentage point movement.
I am attempting to download episode 2 on an iMac.
It is taking about twenty minutes and it gets to about 84% to 87% then I get the connection error. And like others, I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with my internet connection...I just downloaded Left 4 Dead 2 on steam with no problems. I bought the season pass from your website though or else I would have just tried steam. Also I am not taking focus away from the game at any point during the download attempt.
Exactly.
I'm sick of this game. I don't even want to play it anymore due to the horrible experience just acquiring it. Delays with no info, then released and i can't download because of some ridiculous in-house download system?
As a MAC user, I am very frustrated. TTG has screwed up big time and if nothing happens within the next week, I must remind you that you can file a complaint even if you're not from the USA:
Can you please just change the downloader so it resumes? Then we'd just have to restart it a few times and thats it, until you get a proper fix. Or send all the mac users an alternative download link by email?
I really do not want to start into pointless anger fits. I do want telltale to fix their distribution scheme as it does not work.
I can download the newest patch of the game super easy in about 25 minutes, but cannot download the 2nd episode in game past 30% (once), generally it quits by 9%. This wastes a lot of bandwidth, which I actually have to pay for. Especially given that it does not resume.
Moreover: Why can't this game download its content in the background? If I change away from the window, it often crashes.
Finally: Really, can you just create a patch file that I can download separately? straight http download of the game/episode is quick and painless, but episode 2 fails. you anyhow ask for my password, why can't you just release an installer with both episodes and let me use the login. It would be way way less frustrating, and actually take less of my time/bandwidth/money.
I've been trying to download every hour or so for three days without it working. I am shocked that there has been no official blog or response to this. I would feel way better if someone at least acknowledged and gave a timeline for a fix.
Downloaded the update today and I'm now at the 4th try of installing... Still no luck. Mine stops downloading around 48% every time now.
This better get fixed soon, because we've been waiting long enough. Or I want a free Xbox360 version
Btw, I've got the same problem that when I go to windowed mode and let it download, the whole things crashes after some time. So I'm stuck with staring at the episodes screen and hoping everything goes right.

Sob... Mine stops at 60%.. someone fix this SERIOUS problem, please...
It's really annoying, but I won't give up on Telltale, because all the other games, Back To The Future, Jurassic Park, Sam & Max and Strong Bad all install and play perfectly on my Mac.
But then again, these were all direct downloads from the "My Games" site.

"Law & Order: Legacies" uses the same method of integration of the episodes, and it always worked perfectly on Mac... there's must be something wrong, this time...
For any of you having download issues, is the game losing focus at any point during the download? Also, roughly how long is it taking before the download fails?
Downloading in full screen mode, so focus is not lost. Failure occurs after about an hour at around 80%.
In addition to not being able to download the episode (the 600mb update from your website downloaded in less than 5 min btw), old saves games have been lost / are not visible when choosing play for the first episode...

Actually, I had the same problem when I tried to install episodes 6 and 7 of Law & Order: Legacies on my Mac.
I tried the solution that I assumed had worked for me back then, but it made no difference in the case of The Walking Dead (actually, it did... now, it stops downloading around 26% instead of 44%!).

I agree this is crap. I even re-downloaded my steam version and it came with episode 2. Guess what....the steam version didn't work either.
I can't believe that there is no official word. I work for a company that sells, I'll just call them products (don't want to evolve the name). Yesterday, a customer service rep at my company forwarded me an email from an angry customer. There product didn't contain the instructions. I beat myself up over the fact that we had ONE dissatisfied customer. And I FedEx'd the instructions to him as well as emailed a PDF version with our apologies. STEP IT UP TELL TALE!
Well a new day here in The Netherlands...
Just tried to download episode 2 again (6th try), but still no luck. It now crashed at the 80/81% just like you guys.
It's the same "connection lost" error, which is BS, because I'm downloading from the office where everyone is working on the same connection.
Are Mac users going to have to wait for another week or so until they can continue with the game? I see people complaining about refunds and I don't want to do that. I just want to be able to download and play the game, but if this is going to take another couple of weeks I´ll be really disappointed in Telltale Games. Their games, support and overall connection to their fanbase have never let me down like this before.

Exactly! It just shows they take no pride in their products or customer satisfaction.
Totally fed up with it. I don't even WANT to play the game anymore. Zero interest in it if this is going to be a monthly problem. I just want my money back.
Now on my 5th day of trying to download this game still does not complete downloading.... has anyone got any info from telltale ??? are they trying to fix these issues ??? Just want to play ep 2 trying not to see any spoilers but the forums have become a spoiler land mine this is beyond frustrating for me now....
I don't know how they usually do here since this is my first time buying something from TT, (and I wonder if trusting them and paying for the whole season up-front was a good idea) but since they haven't said anything at all yet, I think it's at least a week off and will check back again then
I've bought quite a few Telltale games for OS X, and they all installed and worked perfectly. I never had any trouble with any game.
This is the first time that something goes wrong, so in my opinion, I think paying for the whole season was a good idea.
It's really frustrating that this is working out this way and I'm not sure why the Telltale team doesn't respond to our problems, but I'm pretty sure they're also really bummed out that it turned out this way.
Maybe they rushed episode 2, just to get it released in June. I can still remember getting an e-mail from Telltale, apologizing for not releasing Jurassic Park in time, and getting a free game of choice for my inconvenience.
Anyway... it's a shitty situation, but I wouldn't give up on Telltale so quickly. It's not like they enjoy torturing us... I hope...
I'm sure they're not happy about it but it's a weird error, that they had a launch for an episode where no one using mac can get it from TT's own client.
Seems like the sort of thing that should've showed up in testing just by trying to download it on a mac so I thought they were sloppy in testing their games but if you say all the others have worked great, maybe I'll give them the benefit of the doubt
Cannot believe they don't even have the common courtesy to admit there is a problem and assure us they're trying to fix it. It's deceitful to new customers who might want to purchase the game.
I very much enjoyed the first episode of TWD, and other Telltale games, but this does seem a rather careless approach to customers. We could do with some kind of assurance that the problem is being worked on, as being in the dark like this is pretty damned frustrating...
BooNMiNG, before you try the next time, go into your settings and turn off full screen. That way you can still do stuff while it doesn't download.
thanks for your tips!! haha.. i kept using the COMMAND + Q to quit it..
been trying for few days in a row.. this is wasting my time.. i wonder is there any announcement from the TTG tech team or whatsoever that they are looking into this issue..
i had already sent an email to their support team and hopefully getting a reply. any of us had done so and never get a reply?
=================
Dear support team,
I'm writing in regards the constant issues of unable to download "Walking Dead" episode 2 on my Mac even after reinstalling the new .dmg file from the website. There are many Mac users which experienced the exact same sequence as I do and we had already posted on your forum as the link below: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30725
Once we clicked on "GET" the download would start but it would hang somewhat in the progress no matter how. Our internet connections are proved to be fine as I had downloaded much larger file before and after I was trying to download episode 2 and had no issue at all doing that.
However there is no news or announcement on the fix is on the way, I hope I would get a tiny bit of dignity as a consumer who paid for a product by getting a reply from your support team that you all are looking into this matter.
"Download issues with the Mac version of the Telltale build (the one downloaded from our site) "
We’re aware that a small percentage of Mac users are having an issue with this, and we are in the process of making changes to how these files are delivered that should resolve this issue. However, please make sure that you have a strong connection to the Internet prior to beginning the download. Anything that causes the game to lose focus, including a screen saver, may also cause the download to stop.
and:
"I definitely apologize for any frustration these issues may have caused, but please know that they are being investigated and worked on. A patch/title update for the game across all platforms is in the works, but I don't currently have an ETA on when it will be released, or any information on what fixes will be included."
Well, it seems it's not a small percentage, but ALL Mac users.
Right?
Or are there Mac users out there who are able to play episode 2 (non-Steam version) already?
I've just tried doing a clean install, so deleting EVERY file I could find which has something to do with The Walking Dead and start over...
Still no luck in downloading episode 2... Crashes at 80/81% again.
This was my 7th try.
Thanks all for the support of this thread and the other in relation to the drop outs.
I was very disappointed to see that as a dedicated purchaser of multiple games from Telltale that I was banned for two days for raising that certain people were able to play this game and we, as MAC users and legitimate purchasers, were not.
I'm very disillusioned over this as for Telltale $25 may not be a lot of money, but for me it is and every day I see others playing this game that I can't I get frustrated, even more so for other reasons that I cannot and will not mention for fear of further retribution.
Yes its only a game, but its one I paid for that I can't play.
So lets hope what Mike said in Bit's post above is true and they are working on it and we may see that future episodes are not so glitchy. I'm hopeful, but not holding my breath.
Wow .........this whole situation is just crazy..... i just want to play my game that I paid for... my only solace in this situation is that I didn't waste $50 cause at least my daughters season pass I purchased for her on ps3 is working...... I really hope this situation is remedied soon and at the very longest before ep 3 is released. I am sorry that you were banned blackvulcan3. lets just hope that this is being worked on like Mike's post says.... just sad..
What I think might be gesture would be to all us poor mac suffers offer us the pack that had all the games for nothing for the dramas we've all gone through....might be nice....at least we could play something TT related....
I have the same issue. Episode 2 stops downloading consistently at 47%. I emailed in with the issue. It seems like emailing is no use, and this problem has persist for a while. Sorry this post doesn't help everyone, but I just wanted to jump in on the complaint.

Great post!
Exactly! It just shows they take no pride in their products or customer satisfaction.
Totally fed up with it. I don't even WANT to play the game anymore. Zero interest in it if this is going to be a monthly problem. I just want my money back.
Unfortunately nobody knows... do not receive official updates is really frustrating...
I hope...
Seems like the sort of thing that should've showed up in testing just by trying to download it on a mac so I thought they were sloppy in testing their games but if you say all the others have worked great, maybe I'll give them the benefit of the doubt
thanks for your tips!! haha.. i kept using the COMMAND + Q to quit it..
been trying for few days in a row.. this is wasting my time.. i wonder is there any announcement from the TTG tech team or whatsoever that they are looking into this issue..

=================
Dear support team,
I'm writing in regards the constant issues of unable to download "Walking Dead" episode 2 on my Mac even after reinstalling the new .dmg file from the website. There are many Mac users which experienced the exact same sequence as I do and we had already posted on your forum as the link below:
http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30725
Once we clicked on "GET" the download would start but it would hang somewhat in the progress no matter how. Our internet connections are proved to be fine as I had downloaded much larger file before and after I was trying to download episode 2 and had no issue at all doing that.
However there is no news or announcement on the fix is on the way, I hope I would get a tiny bit of dignity as a consumer who paid for a product by getting a reply from your support team that you all are looking into this matter.
Best regards,
Boon Ming
"Download issues with the Mac version of the Telltale build (the one downloaded from our site)
"
We’re aware that a small percentage of Mac users are having an issue with this, and we are in the process of making changes to how these files are delivered that should resolve this issue. However, please make sure that you have a strong connection to the Internet prior to beginning the download. Anything that causes the game to lose focus, including a screen saver, may also cause the download to stop.
and:
"I definitely apologize for any frustration these issues may have caused, but please know that they are being investigated and worked on. A patch/title update for the game across all platforms is in the works, but I don't currently have an ETA on when it will be released, or any information on what fixes will be included."
Right?
Or are there Mac users out there who are able to play episode 2 (non-Steam version) already?
I think so! I personally don't know any Mac user who has not had any problems.
Still no luck in downloading episode 2... Crashes at 80/81% again.
This was my 7th try.
It seemed early on that it was only Mac users outside the USA, but this may have been then and not really indicative of how many people were affected.
I'll give Telltale ANOTHER week to get this SMALL problem, amongst a SMALL percentage of us folks, resolved.
Then, I will take that refund into stronger consideration.
And that sucks that you were banned, blackvulcan3.
