Second Season hinted at!

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
If the game is a success, which I hope it is because it's awesome, what are the chances of getting another season?

I seriously don't want it to end, the first episode was a blast I only wish it was longer.

So who would like to see a season 2?

Mod edit: I've merged threads concerning recent comments about a possible Season 2 into this one, beginning from page 2; I also changed the thread title to reflect this.

A tad early for this poll isn't it? After all we have 4 more episodes to go. However just based off Episode 1 I want season after season assuming they keep the quality of this episode in the others.

    this.

if - and i point out IF here - they manage to keep the high quality of dramaturgy, character credibility and most of all the authenticity (!) i am glad that i buyed all 5 episodes by one.

after the last episode is released i'll add my vote here, till then i just hope that the other 4 episodes will continue on that level.

let's wait at least for episode 4. they promised serious shit for that one!

There has been no date set for episode 2 yet. Although Telltale does usually get them out monthly. They do occasionally skip a month here and there. With BTTF for example there was a couple times they skipped a month.

As much as I like what Telltale attempts with "TWD", and as much as I'd never begrudge the fans of the franchise a second Season, I'm voting "nope" on this one. The question of course implies ASAP, and that would be a wrong move for TTG in my opinion. I don't want a 2013 Season for TWD.

When Kirkman finishes the comic series, they could well think of another Season to commemorate the occasion. 2015 or 2016, that would be nice also. In the meantime, Telltale has King's Quest and Fables to finish, another Sam & Max Season to deliver and to pick up franchises not yet expected by anyone.

Since XBLA will NEVER get Sam and Max Season 3, and probably never get any other TTG series I kinda have to go with More Seasons

    Here's the thing though

After Careful Consideration {and this is just my opinion} I think The Walking Dead Game needs 7 Seasons each with a diffrent cast and protagonist. In fact if I was involved in Telltale I would have Melissa Hutchinson record some dialogue for clementine like this

The Protagonist of Season 2 is on a ham radio
    Pro: Hello is anyone there?
    Clem: Yes i'm here.
    Pro: Who are you?
    Clem: My names Clementine.
    Pro: Where are you?
Clem: {The location she was last seen in episode 5} Where are you?
Pro: Oh that's pretty far i'm in {wherever this episode takes place] I guess sending Help is out of the question.
    Clem: Let me ask
    {If lees alive no matter what at season 1's end he can come on if not then whoever is and give advice on where to go for help leading into the next episode}

Oh and in season 2 The protagonist rigs up an explosion or snipers some walkers long distance to kill time and in Season 3 that protagonist is saved by the Explosion distracting walkers or the walkers that the Protagonist of season 2 shoots

...another Sam & Max Season to deliver...

Great! But they should give us another Tales of Monkey Island Season first, IMO.

Come to think of it Season 2 could have the protagonist firing the shots that drew the zombies off lee when he was in Clementines yard

With the success of TellTale's title "The Walking Dead" game, Does anyone know if there is any word on pre development. I know this may be premature, but all my friends have asked me this on a weekly if not daily basis. Thanks Dead-Heads!

Yep, I understand. Thanks for the reply though. I guess my question may be alittle 'premature'
  • edited June 2012
I think we will know after all five episodes are released. After only playing episode one I would hope that there is a second game but just hope that the next four episodes are like the first episode so they game can be success for me and to others so they can get the second game if there ever one made.

I agree 100% but for now we must try to keep our unbridled anticipation to episodes 2-5!

I, for one, vote for at least the discussion of a second series of episodes!

A Second series learning from the mistakes of this one. I.E. not promising release dates. Getting the easiest systems released first etc. I like to imagine right now someones working the TTG office to get Sam and Max season 3 Xbox Ready I know it's only a comforting lie but it helps me

considering how long its taking them to release the episodes in this series, i figure i should be drawing my pension by the time they finish a second series

Plus retail release (in NA at least).

    story from:

    http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/7/6/3141748/telltale-walking-dead-season-two

Telltale will release the first five episodes of its The Walking Dead adventure games in North American retail outlets following the final episode's digital launch, the developer confirmed to Polygon today.

Telltale also confirmed that the five-episode series would not be the only games set in the Walking Dead universe that the studio plans on creating.

"We believe there is no better company than Telltale to bring complex narrative IP to interactive entertainment," senior vice president of marketing Steve Allison said in a statement to Polygon. "Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7 million episodes to consumers in just our first 8 weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go with Episode 3 targeted for August as we confirmed yesterday.

"Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do."

Allison also commented on the Activision-published shooter set in the Walking Dead universe, announced earlier today.

"Regarding today's announcement of a project based [on] the AMC TV series coming in 2013," Allison said, "as huge fans of the franchise and the show, we're looking forward to seeing Terminal Reality's game when it comes out."

Oh this is NOT going to end well. Well, it will end well for people who want a second season of The Walking Dead, but not so much for the people who have been begging Telltale for Tales of Monkey Island 2.

Well the lack of a Tales 2 certainly isn't Telltale's fault. I mean there's not much else they can do if LucasArts doesn't want anyone else but them using their licences right now. Maybe that will change in the future but it's not worth holding your breath for.

    Bleh.

I mean, I'm loving The Walking Dead so far, and a sequel makes sense given how the game's already made a boatload of money and publicity for Telltale. But if Telltale's going to start digging into sequels, I'd rather we get Sam and Max Season 4. Or Strong Bad Season 2 (Shut up and let me dream! :( ).

Besides, announcing a sequel when the first game's not even finished reeks of a...hasty decision. I just hope we at least get King's Quest before The Walking Dead 2.

I'm enjoying TWD but I would like to get some more Sam'n'Max luvin before a TWD2.
  • edited July 2012
I would seriously doubt that a 2nd season would be out before Fables & Kings Quest are out. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a season 4 of Sam & Max before this too. My thinking is that it'll be at least 2 years from now that it would be released.
  • edited July 2012
Hey, people, Telltale don't say anything about making the second season JUST AFTER finish the first and which other games they are thinking to develop.

    However this are good news.
  • edited July 2012
It will probably take a bit of time for that, so fear not.

Then again, they could wish to capitalize on the success and move directly into the next season. >.>

Either way, tis good news, and I'm curious as to who the next game would feature.
