Second Season hinted at!

As much as I like what Telltale attempts with "TWD", and as much as I'd never begrudge the fans of the franchise a second Season, I'm voting "nope" on this one. The question of course implies ASAP, and that would be a wrong move for TTG in my opinion. I don't want a 2013 Season for TWD.

When Kirkman finishes the comic series, they could well think of another Season to commemorate the occasion. 2015 or 2016, that would be nice also. In the meantime, Telltale has King's Quest and Fables to finish, another Sam & Max Season to deliver and to pick up franchises not yet expected by anyone.

He has no plans on wrapping it up anytime soon; and its been ongoing since 2004. Most likely TTG will make the decision based on sales of Season 1, which I hear is doing rather well.

But I wouldnt like another episodic game- the suspense is too much between Eps. If they were released a solid 3-4 weeks apart, that would be ok

How about Season 2 is starts off with a new set of people; but the timeline begins at the end of Season 1. The new pack has to deal with the world in full blown ZA, at the end of their Ep5 they land in Lee's camp where he is now a veteran zombie killer/ strategist. And you get to see whoever made if from Season 1 in there...or something like that. Its the old and the new combined

That would be nice - basically we leave Lee and Clementine realizing that whatever hope we have for an end to the "apocalypse" is a long way off (even if it is still there), but we get to pick up season 2 with a new group of survivors, having been shaped by their own experiences of survival. I would really like a new setting for it, though.

Ah it's called the pox and we did that three years ago!

    LeChuck caused the zombie outbreak.

    This is now canon.

With the compilation of season 1 coming out in retail(which will likely be reserved for the more patient of us), I'm getting the feeling that this "season 2" will branch off the events of season 1. Anyone else?

I think Season one should be referred too but not actively see. I dont know much about Woodbury so pardon me if i'm wrong in mentally imagining it to be like the Camp in Falling skies Except with walkers instead of skitter threats. or maybe the city in land of the dead. But dog eat dog. The Protagonist of the next episode is there and meets up with Newcomer Lily and she talks a bit about herself to them possibly a female protagonist she's more likely to open up to since males caused her so much trouble. and so we learn bits about season one then the protagonist is kicked out of woodbury and so the adventure starts

Good theory, except Woodbury is WAY more brutal. After Lilly's behaviors in recent episodes, she would be right at home.

I am excited! Only 2 episodes in, and The Walking Dead: The Game has sold over 1.7 million copies! I can only assume that these sales records and the overall positive feedback and reviews the game has had so far are responsible.

    My sources:

    This is awesome!!

I think everyone does, tbh. Jake from Telltale said that they are working on getting the first season on our way before they focus on the second.

If it does feature Clem, I hope it is set in the future, and you get to play as an older version of her, with her character having been directly influenced by the choices you made by Lee in the first game.

But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Playing as Clementine is an awesome idea. As Clementine has already proven her usefulness and mature understanding as a child, she would be perfect for leading a group as an adult.

Also, this idea would give The Walking Dead franchise a female lead. So having diversity in leaders will keep the franchise fresh and interesting. c: (Currently the television series is lead by Rick, the Activision game is lead by Daryl, the Telltale game is lead by Lee, and though I haven't personally read the comics, it appears the comics are also lead by Rick.)

I don't like the idea of Clementine growing up and leading groups of survivors. The thing that spurs these survivors is that hope will come eventually. Waiting 10-15 years would take the idea of hope and rescue from the survivors. I still like the idea of Lee and Clem returning as the main cast in season 2 though.

I will not say too much on woodsbury(It is massive comic spoilers, and probably the best saga of the entire series), but it was MUCH more brutal, and a place you did NOT want to live! I think it would be much more interesting to see Lilly after the events of woodsbury have happened, as it was left unknown if she lived or not afterword, so it would make a great setting as she is an established game character, and Lilly would have a lot of baggage to deal with after that.

They are led by Rick in the comics. The TV show is just a re-imagining of the comics, meaning they go through the same stuff(so you guys WILL be seeing this woodsbury crisis soon), but minor things are changed, such as who dies and when.

I'm immensely enjoying TTG's TWD and would be thrilled to play seasons 2, 3 etc etc... IMO, The Walking Dead universe has MUCH more room for sequels than any other games I can think of... (eg. Call of Duty, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed)... :)

If the game is a success, which I hope it is because it's awesome, what are the chances of getting another season?

I seriously don't want it to end, the first episode was a blast I only wish it was longer.

So who would like to see a season 2?

Mod edit: I've merged threads concerning recent comments about a possible Season 2 into this one, beginning from page 2; I also changed the thread title to reflect this.

    V.

Yes.... But they should do fucking better work!
Come on! Bethesda sucks IMO but it is better than TTG

I'm not an old Telltale customer but a fan of "The Walking Dead". The whole experience has been stellar for me since the beginning of the game. I got insanely attached to Clem & her relationship with Lee. Playing the morally gray but still "somewhat paragon" father of her really was a blast! Few times in my life I've grown fond of characters in video games which gave me zillion times the hunger of a flesh-eating zombie for finding out what happens next. If I had to give it a score I'd give it 9.5 out of 10 and I'd call it a "smashing hit". Because purchasing the rights of a keenly followed franchise doesn't mean you can deliver it in style. However, Telltale really nailed the whole thing in my humble opinion. :)

What I'm really wondering right now is,
As I've seen from other releases in Telltale Games' list, there has been more than one season of games. I realize the first season is not even finished yet and I didn't create this thread to directly ask if there will be a second season. I just came here to say I wish you guys at Telltale made more than one season of this great game, and wanted to thank you for all the efforts you've put into creating this whole experience.

    Thank you for reading.

    Thank you for reading.

Try Sam and Max for wacky adventures, Back to The Future for a fairly loyal spiritual sequel to the movie, or Tales of Monkey Island for fun character driven adventure.

Unfortunately, nothing else Telltale has done has really followed this tone before, but - as you said - they've nailed it. As Cap said, there's threads for this, so check those out to see more mass guessing for season 2.

To put this on a different topic than "season 2?", have you played both episodes? What were your decisions?
