Little to you. And as it happens, to me. But not to everyone.
THANK YOU. I happen to like his stuff, so it's nice to have someone admit that although they may not enjoy him, there's other people who do.

I'm hyped as hell Nostalgia Critic is back.

As am I, though I hope Doug will still try to do other things besides NC.
  • edited January 2013
I'm sure he will. The whole bi-weekly thing seems very geared towards allowing that.

I don't know where I insulted anybody else for liking Doug or his channel. I would hope that people not have an automatic assumption that my disdain for a thing somehow means I reflect that disdain onto those who enjoy that thing as well.

No, but you repeat that disdain over and over again by just constantly maintaining that Doug, and everything on the site, is awful. You don't state it as an opinion - more a fact.
    DAISHI wrote: »
I am being fair, the entire site is a walking disaster and a plague in the net.
    DAISHI wrote: »
Maybe I'd hate it less if there wasn't such a sheer amount of awful.

The fact that he produces little that's entertaining is further reason.
I thanked MI for not just saying it sucked, like you seemed to, but for conceding that other people might enjoy something he didn't personally like.

Well then I reword it. Almost all of Channel Awesome sucks. Doug occasionally has some good NC stuff but it's few and far between.

The people who enjoy Channel Awesome, I disagree with you, but you do not suck.

    ...OK then. Assassination averted.

I wouldn't say I find Doug especially funny, but I would occasionally watch Nostalgia Critic to see all of the awful movies that I somehow have managed to avoid seeing.

The Room review was probably the funniest, but I'm not entirely sure if that was due to anything he said, or just because the movie is priceless all by itself.

Dude sometimes Nostalgia Critic is awesome. It's the same way I feel about Videogame Nerd. These guys are actually, really insightful sometimes. I like it when they are that, and not comedy shtick.
  • edited January 2013
I agree that Rolfe is insightful, because of his massive knowledge of old films and horror movies. You'd think he could have a great discussion with Brad Jones, and that would be fun to see.

Doug I have no read on, except that he frequently gets things wrong. He has good taste in movies as far as favorites...I dunno. He hides too much behind this or that to let me get a read on what he really thinks.

Thanks to Alcoremortis for referring me to "The Room" review. That shit was hilarious.

I love the Nostalgia Critic(and the AVGN), partly because some of these games and movies I've played or seen and, even if I don't agree that the game/movie is crap, can agree with at least some of the things they say.

And I say The Room is my favorite NC episode. Period.

It got taken down because of some bullsh*t copyright claim. But then it got cleared up so it was re-uploaded.

Also, Doug did a skit about it - The Tommy Wiseau Show.

Anyone here that actually liked Doug's Melvin, brother of the Joker skit?

Hes ripping off LK's abridged version of Marik character.

I like the Gordy review, I think it's funny and we see NC dance at the end :D

Okay, I had no idea who LK was before you mentioned him, and from what I can tell from the few videos I've checked on Youtube, I disagree. Just because their voices are similar doesn't mean Doug is ripping him off.
  • edited January 2013
I don't think the Melvin thing was an intentional rip off. If I remember correctly LittleKuriboh works with/has some sort of partnership with Channel Awesome so Doug could have got some inspiration from LK's work or they brushed off ideas together. (I don't know I'm just taking a shot in the dark lol)

    Yays!

FYI, JonTron's videos are also posted on the That Guy With The Glasses website, hence the thread merge.

    Lovin' that intro.

    Wow that movie was bad!
  • edited February 2013
So what does everyone think about the new NC review? Personally i thought it was good :)
  • edited February 2013
It was definitely...a Nostalgia Critic review, with a new intro, that also had Demo Reel actors in skits.

This review is wonderful and I like this new direction. Also, as soon as possible, I'm getting my hands on that NC Reloaded DVD.

Pretty much this. I didn't find it any more of less funny than it was before TBF. It's just... more Nostalgia Critic. Not a big fan of the new intro though, it seems pretty intense for a review show that doesn't cover intense material often.

I was laughing in all the clips Doug was using to show Sherk wasn't funny. Though at the end if he wasn't being sarcastic I agree Shrek 2 was awesome. I like it better then the first.
  • edited February 2013
No he thinks Shrek 2 is good, It was in his top 10 comedy films.
  • edited February 2013
He also acts. He doesn't hate everything he rips apart. I don't seem to see him doing it so much now that he feels he is a brand, but when he would put up convention stuff and other filmed videos, he'd admit and talk about movies he's ranted about that he actually liked, they just provided a lot of material.
  • edited February 2013
Funny. I thought Shrek was funnier than Shrek 2. Never liked Shrek 2. I haven't seen either in ages, though, as I got so bored of Shrek.
  • edited February 2013
Shrek 1 was funny and good for it. Shrek 2 was not quite as funny and not as good. Shrek 3 was not very funny and while a better dramatic movie, Shrek's a comedy. Shrek 4...better than 2 and 3, but not as good as 1.

Another Grinch remake? Wonder if the NC will do yet ANOTHER Old vs. New.

I don't get whats so bad about showing Shrek to young kids? I'd show my kids Shrek.
  • edited February 2013
Personally my favorite Dreamworks movies are Megamind, Shrek 2, and Kung Fu Panda 2. Most of Dreamworks movies are good in my opinion. If i had to pick i would Kung Fu Panda 2 then Megamind. Reasons why is because i like the character developement and the story and i think the part at the end where Po just starts firing back Shen's cannonballs after he sees his friends hurt. Also the animation is amazing.

It really depends on the age of the kid. Some of the jokes and language in Shrek are inappropriate for little kids.
