    Rip-off. I know a guy who does 'em 25 bucks a pop.

...not that I need them, mind...

I do seriously find it a minor concern that the majority of posters I'd consider "the regulars" are now mods. It's like a very large secret club. I bet you all have t-shirts too.

Eh, we needed the help. And there's still plenty of regulars who aren't mods.

These are the only shirts I ever got for being a mod.

And I had to drive to Seattle to get them. Granted, I could've gotten them without being a mod, but I would've had to stand in line.

Let me guess... you never set foot in the Walking Dead forums, right? ;)

Just interpret it as a compliment that we seem to only recruit from the 'old' regulars and not the 'new' ones. :o

Hey! What's that supposed to mean?

You make me want to count the old regulars to see if it's a majority.

They're not going to make me a mod. I let my stupidity run away with itself too often. I'm not saying I don't want to be a mod or that I'd be a bad one. I'm saying that I wouldn't be so lucky to get picked for something like that.

Which isn't really a bad thing.

Also yeah. A lot of fresh blood in the TWD sub and as long as they stay there I'm OK with that. I am afraid of what will happen when the series ends though. Let's hope they just leave or keep lurking in Limbo over there and away from me in Limbo 2 over here.

Or, the good ones are smart enough to come to cool people central (population: us)

Anywho, I meant a T-shirt like something with this design (copyright Ribs):

    They would never ban me.
Also our beloved mods are the source of all good energy.

Don't worry. After your first real non-bot ban... you immediately stop joking like this for quite some time. :(

Marsden hasn't gotten his chops yet until he's banned me.

Mmm... OK. But only 'cause you asked nicely. (And haven't actually done anything, but that's by the by)

I'm now terrified to make a somewhat jokey thread. Oh well, Coolsome gets away with it, right?

So you would never ban Coolsome just because of the 9000 posts of him and what would happen if you do?
  • edited November 2012
I have been banded before you know.
  • edited November 2012
Coolsome's threads get locked because they have absolutely no point to them. His last one, for instance, was just an image from the Lion King. That didn't actually load for most people due to an iffy link. Hmm.

Generally speaking I'm fairly lenient when it comes to being a mod. Stick to the rules, avoid flat-out insulting people and don't start threads with no actual point to them and we're all good.

Not a timeout. A real ban including deleting all posts and clearing the forum of all traces.

I seem to recall they were talking about spreading salt over the ashes, but I don't think it went quite THAT far. Mostly because no-one had any salt on them at the time.

And that's why the spambots keep coming back.

...we need salt. LOTS OF SALT.

Put a salt line around all the threads. It'll keep the demons out, at least.

  • edited November 2012
It was fine. Just a quick browse, but didn't seem to be too much out of the ordinary. Not really sure why you're asking, it's not as if you can't go and see for yourself.
  • edited November 2012
Well, I'm sure it was more like...

*Darth Marsden kicks open saloon doors*
Walking Dead people: It's the deputy! Scram!
*rush out, leaving behind a mess of petitions for earlier release dates and less sales*
  • edited November 2012
We are afraid. We are all afraid.
Also. It may be fine now but wait until release day. Or until the release gets pushed back 2 months. Then the really creepy guys come crawling out of their nests. "I took the whole day off. It's 11 pm now where is the episode". And they never learn. Never.
Or a classic: My savegame got deleted again. That's the 3rd time that happened.- I am so angry Argh Argh Argh.
Or another classic: Why is it not out on PSN in the EU? // It says the episode is out now but I cannot find it in the App Store.

    Did I forget something?

You know, if S&M Season 4 came before TWD Season 2 well i think the fourms will have a lot less users...But since most users is people crying about TWD then maybe it won't be a big deal.

Noooo, noooo, the best ones go "It's 11 pm now where I live, where is the episode". That's best for Asians and Australians.

Pfft, I didn't. That said, it really does suck when you have to ban a regular. I have no problem with banning assholes, though.

That's pretty much how we all handle things. I'm glad to hear you've figured that out for yourself early on. It's pretty easy to be too heavy-handed when you first start out.

Hey, we've only done that once that I know of, and it was so serious, all traces of the conversation about it were even removed from the mod board.

    Was it The Doctor?
