Yes but Darth is half correct. Saints Rows 4 has MGS references because there is a stealth mission in SR4 which uses boxes and the MGS alert sound effect.

Is there a Project:Shadow as well which has something to do with an hedgehog and a giant cheap pain as a boss lizard?
    Possibly.

Coolsome should be added as a mod for the beta forums. But only during the beta.

    Don't like wrestling?

    That's a bannin'

    Don't like monkeys?

    That's a bannin'

    Don't like the Simpsons?

You better believe that's a bannin'

I think we should have inverse moderator days where everybody but the mods are Mods and we can edit all of their posts to make them talk silly
  • edited August 2013
But... we already talk silly! We have to talk down to you after all...

Few, if any, mods have argued against the implementation of the new forums in general.

    Fixed that for ya.
All of them, I believe, are willing to give it an honest try.

I plan to do my best. If I find the system to be totally broken with no sign of anyone listening...well, I hear that Double Fine needs better moderators. Maybe I can get a recommendation? But I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.
While I can't genuinely speak on behalf of the higher ups, I think that when the need arises, they pick people who they genuinely believe will be a good moderator

In the past, recommendation from current moderators has also gone a long way. When I was chosen, it was because the mod team was severely understaffed and mine was one of the names put forth by Icedhope, and I remember Marsden's name coming up in discussion at PAX last year.
(so if you're living in the US, it happens in the middle of the night and doesn't really affect you).

Pfft, the middle of the night is when I'd be most active. Nocturnal sleeping habits and all.

something worth noting: Tags are taking over the forums. just read the tags on this for example.

something you should just ignore: everyone talks silly anyway.

On topic, what I genuinely think ought to be done to improve the forums is to have a mobile-friendly version. On my smartphone, posts on the same page have differing font sizes; the navigation links and buttons are fairly hard to poke properly because they're so small; and when I pinch zoom in order to better click stuff, when it reflows the text it screws up my position on the page.

This. Or maybe you could optimise it for forum apps like tapatalk?

I don't think a mobile version is necessary, almost every mobile version of a forum I've ever used has been far inferior to using the desktop version on the mobile.

I've requested Tapatalk support a couple of times in the past, but haven't gotten any kind of response on it. Not even on the e-mail I sent to TTG support. I've found that Opera Mobile is pretty decent when it comes to forums though. Fonts are good and it always navigates to the correct posts. Still, I do miss the optimizations a dedicated mobile solution would give.

Have we tried to make casual swearing mandatory?

    Fuck no!

Friar that is a amazing signature, I just might put that in my fan fic if its alright with you, what is it from anyway, sorry since this is off topic.

I think every forum member should get free Bannang every 100 posts
  • edited August 2013
    I'd drown in Bannang!
  • edited August 2013
Me to, so I think I will skip that choice if you mind.
  • edited August 2013
Yeah but Drowning in Bannang would be an honourable death...

And no Bannang. It'd get old pretty quick.

Every post made here should be linked to your twitter (hah you can't read this its in brackets!!!) account.

Thanks! I can't remember if it's from "Doctor Who" or "The Sarah-Jane Adventures", and I can't find a video of the whole thing anywhere. This is the closest I could find. It's got part of the quote anyway. And a few other awesome ones too.

But yeah, I love that line! And you won't have me complaining if you steal it! I throw it at people all the time.

    *edit*
It was Doctor who, "The School Reunion"

Seeing as everything telltale has made since S&M has banang references, they should hide a banang easter egg somewhere in the forum. That would be pretty cool, and like most cool things utterly useless.

I'm left wondering now, whether you posted this before or after I edited the same clip into my post. WE SHALL NEVER KNOW.

On topic , maybe we should put Lee and Clementine icons ?

What, so all the newbies can use them all the time? Yeah, no.

    :p

But then you will miss out on all the fun it is trying to find a avatar pic, something no one should ever miss out on.

I just gave up on looking for a cool picture and just used a picture of my draft excluder...

The new impending forums are supposed to have a much larger selection of stock avatars from which to choose.

A whole bunch of cigar smoking monkeys!
  • edited August 2013
I don't think it's too much of a secret to reveal that the new forums do indeed have more stock avatars (and let you use your Gravatar). If it is, expect to see me be very quiet over the next couple of days :p
  • edited August 2013
I'm really hoping for custom avatars without requiring the use of Gravatar, but I don't expect to get my wish.

I want an icon that is different for each person who looks at it.

My hope is waning as well, but I doubt Gravatar is getting my email address any time soon. These just aren't the times you give any of your data to US based companies.
  • edited September 2013
Awww man! If I revert to my Gravatar, then my user title will cease to make sense. Unless they do away with those as well. In which case, who cares?
  • edited September 2013
I hope the new forum isn't as garish as this one.
