Just like in the topic. I would like to know, cause mostly boys play computer games and I wonder, if I'm one of the few girls playing this game or maybe there is much more of us :p

I'm female, and I play it on my PS3. I'm assuming there's quite a bit of us because it's a great game. :3

I'm female and I love the game, and I also love the show. Of course, I'm a zombie-anything fan so.....

Me too, over here! I was never really into zombies until I downloaded The Walking Dead demo back in April-- after that, I was completely hooked!

Female! And owning it for the PS3, hell ja. :D

    Here!

I think the format is much more female gamer orientated than the typical FPS game that would normally roll out this genre. Appreciated!

Nice to see the audience is mixed rather than the 'all guys' environment that is always depicted in pop-culture.

I wonder how female stats differ to guys? GET ON IT TELLTALE
  • edited September 2012
dunno if the game recognizes 'gender' outside of the game with out looking at gamer profile...

maybe add some options for 'girl/boy who has good lee' or 'girl/boy who has bad lee'

Female! Also pretty young compared to some of the gamers here, 15 years old. It's my current obsession at the moment, pretty much. I'm enjoying every moment of it, even if my favorite character died last episode. ): It's great to see some girls playing this, the more variety, the more fun.

WOO! The 100th poller right here! Proud to be apart of the 22%.

I'm actually buying a desktop computer so I can run this game properly. My laptop couldn't handle it sadly. I'd also like to add I don't usually like Zombie games or movies for that matter. But the choice system in the game interests me a lot. I love that kind of roleplaying, despite having to be a male character. Though I should be used to that, right? -_-

    I'm a girl also and I play with PS3

looooove the game, my brother bought the season pass for my birthday since he knew I love the TV-show :D

Sorry for the deleted posts in this tread - insulting spammer with four accounts. :(
I also deleted the discussion about the troll, it just derails this thread just damn bad. Forgive me!

Carry on, there is nothing to see here.

I have a question for the female gamers, if they don't mind?

I've been wondering who the female gamers saved at the pharmacy?

Since some insinuate that males are bound to choose the female in danger, I wonder what was the deciding factor for females to choose either way.
I myself suspect that a lot of females chose Carley also.Is this true? is it as simple as going for the sharpshooter.Would Doug of stood a better chance if he was the one with the gun skills? maybe not with male gamers but would it be different for females?
  • edited September 2012
I chose carley, because she can use a gun. I thought the electric would go off at some point, and a tech guy wouldn't be much use. (Sorry doug, but if there's a choice of one, I'm going to fall back on who would be more 'useful' in the situations ahead)

I would have probably saved him if he could work with metal/wood or something ,and could build us crossbows and stuff.

I chose Carley. Carley has become my ultimate favorite character ever. Doug was nice, but Carley was interesting, knew Lee's past, told it how it was yet cared for the safety of others, and was badass with a gun. As a sucker for romance and personally loving her since the first moment I saw her, there was no other choice.

It seems like the majority of female players in this thread are on ps3. I doubt that means anything, but I find it interesting nonetheless. As long as we're asking the ladies for perspective, how do you feel about the game's treatment (as in writing quality) of female characters in general?

This +10! I couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm still waiting for my PC to be built because my laptop can't handle it and I live in Aus, so can't get it on my xbox. I don't even own a PS3, shocking right?

However, I have seen up to the drug store on youtube, and so far, the treatment of women looks right. Carley can hold her own but still has that caring nature and Lilly is ex-air force if I remember correctly. Presumably being able to stand on her own two feet also.

I hate it when games portray women as weak fragile characters or just sex symbols. A friend recommended me The Witcher 2 a while ago. But after seeing how the women were portrayed in that, I passed lol.

I'm a female xbox player. I love the game, tv show, comics and book.

I also chose Carley mostly because I feel like that's who Lee would've saved first but also because she can shoot a gun and the zombies inside the store were more of a threat than the ones outside... I figured save her first then see if I can help Doug.

As for how the women are treated, I guess Chuck says it best "You gotta consider her a living person. That's it. You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart. You're alive." I feel like that's how TTG is treating all their characters. I mean of course there are things that come from being different genders but in a general way, they're just portraying them as people in an impossible situation.

My first play i saved Carly i just felt that was the right thing to do. The battery thing was a little off putting and IMO a little sexist however, i chose to save her because she seemed very trustworthy and i thought she would be around for awhile to help lee with Clem if he needed female advise sorta like a quasi-mother for Clem the fact that she had a gun didn't hurt either.

my second play i saved doug because well just to switch things up. gotta love the tech guy :D

I chose Carley, mostly cause I'm a kind of romantic person, so I thought that maybe there will be something between her and Lee, you know, maybe no the greatest romance of the century, but some kind of chemistry ;] besides she saved our life, she was nice person, incident with batteries was just lovely and funny as for me and she knew our past, she was honest and trustworthy. and also there were more interactions between her and Lee than between Lee and Doug, that's why I used to like her more than him ;]
