What are video games you would like to see re-released

edited September 2012 in General Chat
We all have that one certain video game we have heard about and have always wanted to play it. or an old game that doesn’t work but you cant find anywhere else because its hard to find. So the only resort is to either buy it super expensive off of ebay or have to download it on your computer. what are games that you would like to see re-released to the public for modern consoles or computers? The game has to be a title that is from the past(like 90’s and 80’s for instance) that has been released and once the release is over is hasn’t been seen from the public again. Name the game, and give a reason why you want it re-released(other than reliving old nostalgic memories of the game).

Attack of the mutant- I don’t know if there are any goosebumps fans on here, but this was a game that surely gave me the goosebumps. This game has been noted for being one of the first video games to use Cel-shaded graphics. I have always wanted to see this game re-released since its one of the known goosebumps stories, as well as being a fun game. whoever owns the rights to this game needs to re-release it as well as add a few new things to make the game longer. That would be sweet.

Leisure Suit Larry Love for sail- one of the reasons why I loved the leisure suit larry series was its cartoon like feel, as well as its jazz soundtrack. Love for sail was one of the first games that I saw using hand-drawn animation to create an environment for Larry. It suits rather well since there are not a whole lot of video games these days that have 2D cartoon like graphics. I know that the first larry game is being remade as we speak, but I hope it does well enough to convince Al to re-release the other Larry games(even getting Lust in space back in development).

Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo Tooie (I heard it was good and i would love to try a HD Remake for PS3) Conker (I want to try this Rare game too and i know it was on Xbox but an HD Remake would be great and again It would be great for it to come to PS3) Kingdom Hearts HD Collection with KH 1,2 Re:Chain Of Memories, and Birth By Sleep, Then Kingdom Hearts HD Collection Part 2 with 358/2 Days,Re:Coded, and Dream Drop Distance. I don't know if the KH HD Collection would come to Xbox 360 and the reason i wonder is there is no KH game for Xbox. The first 2 and Birth By Sleep were Sony exclusives and the spin offs have been on DS but I'm not saying it should not be on Xbox. Crash Bandicoot Trilogy & Spyro The Dragon Trilogy (The first 3 games in each series remade with HD,Trophies, and 3D.)

Edit:I would love to see Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories be added to the PS2 classics on the UK Playstation store since it never came out in the UK and i think people in the UK would like to try it.

Heh. Final Fantasy VII PC. Now that they DID re-release it with some of the most crappy DRM they could think of (cloud saves etc.), I'd rather they didn't. :(

I second Kingdom Hearts. I really hope they put out some sort of HD collection in the near future. I only played KH I and II so I'm going to be so lost by the time KH III finally rolls around.

I would just say the only 2 games you need to catch up on the story is Birth By Sleep and Re:coded, Birth by sleep to catch up on the main bad guy and Re:coded to know how the story leads into Dream Drop Distance (Don't know if you need it or not since i don't got a 3DS)

    Severance: Blade of Darkness.

At one point in time my favourite third-person medieval-style action games were Die by the Sword, Rune, and Severance. Die by the Sword got a re-release on GoG, Rune got a re-release on Steam, Severance didn't get a re-release anywhere :(

I would pay serious money to have downloads on Steam of all the Age of Empires games. I really would.

A re-release of all of the LucasArts adventure games would be nice (with the exception of the six that are out on Steam already).

In the even more unlikely to happen department, I'd really love to get a re-release of the 256 color remake of Zak McKracken that they made for the FM-Towns.

Crappy game?? Sure, it has a rather short ending cutscene, but the overall story is great.

But yeah, forcing the game to save files to the cloud and putting ridiculous DRM on it is retarded. I know TTG will hate me for mentioning it, but if those sorts of issues still exist in the upcoming release, I would buy the game legitimately and then find a patched (read: pirated) copy somewhere that "fixed" said issues.

Other game developers should take a leaf out of Telltale Games' book. At least TTG seems to have their heads on straight regarding DRM, be it from downloads or discs.

I have yet to finish six.

I do own it on Wii VC, but I keep getting caught up doing other things and forget to play it.

I don't know, they seem to be doing it in game history orde. They said it will include HD Remakes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days' Cutscenes.

Where's Birth By Sleep then? :D

Second collection. Gah, read the bloomin' Kingdom Hearts thread.
  • edited September 2012
    A. i do read it. B. it seemed like you were saying it was going in history order but the fact Birth By Sleep is not on the first collection just makes the history order part make no sense.

Oh, I can't be bothered to respond to that, I really can't.

Re-release Klonoa 2 from the PS2! Great game.

Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb. Enhance the graphics, create checkpoints, but leave everything else the way it is.

It was - as Shattered Memories.

Or did you mean the original game? 'cause that really wasn't all that great compared to the sequels.
  • edited September 2012
Yeah, because a father willing to do anything to get his daughter back wasn't as great as a guy getting locked in his apartment. Plus Harry was one of the only protagonists that didn't have selfish motives(at least compared to the others).
