For Episode 4, they only gave two or three days notice. I expect something similar for Episode 5. It definitely won't be more than a week's notice.
More importantly, they will only say something once they are 99% sure. That's fine enough for me.

With episode 4 for EU they needed more than that, since they waited almost 8 hours to confirm the date from Playstation EU via retweet (and still haven't updated the blog as it still read "The European release date on PlayStation Network will be announced as soon as we have information from our partners at SCEE.")

Perhaps this time around TTG will actually manage to publish the EU release dates on their blog or webpage so that we don't have to search for it and read a lot of rumours (and spoliers).

I can't imagine a fixed release date for PSN EU to come out with the others. It will probably be the very same 4 to 8 business day lag as with the previous releases. If Telltale could announce a PSN EU release date with the other releases, it would be because they held the PSN EU release back, and no one wants that. They only have days or even hours between knowing for certain and the actual release, and it's great that they release IMMEDIATELY after knowing. On such a tight schedule, some things just can't be helped.

    I'll guess November 16th.

Yeah, except for episode 4 they never gave us an official notice of the release date for PSN EU, it actually took them 8 hours to do a re-tweet from Playstation. So they didn't release immediately after knowing and not on their official channels (i.e. the blog and the webpage). I've critised TTG for bad communication before, and since they haven't changed I continue.

Wait, isn't the first sign the episode is coming usually Telltale announcing playtests on their facebook or something? I guess we possibly have to wait for that, then.

I hope it comes out soon, the screen of my laptop is dying on me, I have no idea how long it´ll last, and I want to at least be able to finish this game before that.

I have a copy of the entire saves folder in a USB just in case it doesn´t make it, but it could be a long time before I get another computer :(.

I played through the game several times. I am almost foaming at the mouth waiting for the next one to play. I wonder how everything will wrap up. I'm also a little sad inside. While I wait for this chapter. I know season 2 won't be out for some time. That's very sad because I wish I could start new season already.

I wish we could get a hint on release too. It looks like early to late Nov.

well the last time they said a release date would be announced as soon as they knew it was just 8 or 9 days later. so going by that I'm thinking it will either be out next week or we will at least have a release date (but usually once we have the date we have the ep;))

The thing is this is the last episode and it should be available on all platforms, all regions at the same TIME. If it can be held up a week, then it should, its only fair.

What sense does it make that we get to play 1-4 then wait till dec to play the last game. Many titles go to xbox only after months and other way around too. It took years in some cases for it to get to PC.

People will still play the game regardless if it's released sooner on PC. They might negatively affect their fan base if they look at this from a marketing point of view.

People will still buy the game regardless even if it came out today.

Ah. Good idea. Given that the iOS version of episode 5 will possibly even come out in 2013, you'll have quite the wait in front of you. Thankfully, getting the schedule as closely as possible back to a monthly one seems to be the higher priority for Telltale now.

I hope TT's highest priority is making sure the episodes are free of bugs and saved data issues.

If episode 5 is the last one and season 2 will come out, do we have to buy it again and just play it like we just started or will this walking dead game get updated and we will go through with the story where you have been, or nobody know at this moment?
  • edited November 2012
i assume it will be stand alone but rumours suggest it may read your saves from season 1.

so unless they also add in a mass effect 2 style pick your 'memories' / choices in a quick question and answer section in case people have further save issues they could have some more hate coming.

You won't have to buy it. Once you bought it once you should get all the additional ones. I bought the pass and I've got 3 one. When the 4th one came it was just unlocked allowing me to access it. A horrible idea to make the final one where you'd have to purchase it considering I already bought the game.

You realize they don't answer questions on this thread, right? Or were you being purposely exaggerated for effect? They also said it was coming in November...not the beginning of it.

You did'nt notice the sarcasm? Really?

    Even with the 2033 date?

They said the last episode would come by "shortly" after episode 4. To me, a month is not shortly.

Yesterday, Erin Ashe play tested the opening for episode 5 (with only Ben with Lee so it's not known if all the other scenarios have been covered as well), so that seems to be the current stage that they are at as of now.

All right then. So, I guess they're done with the intro.

Except that that is not sarcasm...That is hyperbole. Completely different literally.

Since there was not preview I wonder if they'll release a trailer for ep 5.
  • edited November 2012
i think they didnt show a trailer/preview because probably a lot of things will happen in ep5 and a trailer would spoil it

If they do release a trailer, I'm actually planning on not watching it. Kind of want to keep the suspense that episode 4 creates. I like having no clue what is going to happen right now. :P

season 2 will NOT be included in the season 1 pass.

that would be a 'fucking stupid' business decision.

yeah there are some people who just wanna pay once. after 5 this game is done and a new one will come out at a later date. I'm sure our saves will not be incorporated into the next season for the simple reasoning that just keeping the saves from ep to ep is a problem for alot of people so unless they do a massive fix on this game expect season 1 to end Lee and the group's story. Tho they may surprise me and do it but in my opinion season 1 saves shouldn't be applied.

I don't know whether or not this means anything and someone else could have posted this piece of information earlier BUT if you have an Xbox 360 and you go to the achievement page for The Walking Dead you notice that the max gamercore increased during the last couple of days (i think I noticed it on Sunday or Monday), the same thing happened with the achievement count (but still the new achievements cannot be viewed). This could be just an error or something like that, but for me it means that we are just days (hours?) away from finally having a chance to play Episode 5.

You gonna be dissapointed most likely... dont have too much expectations on the release being that soon.

I think it's coming next week or two. We'll see.
  • edited November 2012
achievments being released early happened a 1-2 weeks before some of the episodes but not all of them.

i forget which site but a ps3 trophy site had them all up before ep3 was out, there is thread somewhere on here about it.

    i say 2 weeks ish

Don't put too much weight on the announcement of playtesting. I'd assume that for the last episode especially, they already have their test team together. I strongly assume that playtesting episode 5 is over (and possibly has taken place in October).

I'm confident that I might still win this time. :D

I'm thinking the 13th for PS3, and the 14th for 360 and PC. Considering the sort of tweets and PR going about(and the whole site being down the other day)

Of course you´ll need to buy it... You have the entire season, but not all seasons.

What do you think, that Telltale don´t need money?
