I dislike Clem a bit. Mainly because in episode 3 on the train, when she asks can she tell her parents about the plan, and if Lee says no, she says YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO. I think she was a bit of a spoilt brat at that moment.

She had a hard time, gotta consider that, cut her some slack. I mean, what other little girl went through a human slaughterhouse, had to cope with seeing someone get his head bashed in with a salt lick, loosing her best friend, and her parents on top. Out of everyone she and Kenny were the ones that had to live with the biggest losses.
Sure it is ungreateful to say such a thing after all Lee's done for her, but... you know different circumstances.

Clem is a spoilt brat, that's why she ran off when Lee was not looking, then lee go bit!

I laughed ao hard at that point and kinda thought the same thing

What UTTER garbage. Clementine is a well mannered child who says PLEASE and THANK YOU. She had a standard upbringing. At the station wagon she wants to leave the food because it is NOT THEIRS She is not a brat for trying to find people she loves. Any 9 year old would want to find their parents. Its common nature. Any scared child says "I want my mommy"
Lee died because he was not strong enough to tell her that man was manipulating her and that he heard them die. If she knew she would never leave. What a nonsense claim. The reason she says that is because she is a smart independant child. She makes her own decisions.

Though i agree with you on the first part, even if Lee tells Clem he heard her parents die(or outright says "they're dead") she will refuse to believe him. I think she would always search for them regardless of what anyone said until she saw them herself, and nothing Lee could do would change that.

Pretty much. To an extent, I think she was also riding the denial train pretty hard when it came to her parents. e.g. She concludes her parents have to be at Crawford before we head there (on the basis that it's the only place in the city with still-living people), yet still doesn't accept that her parents are dead when it turns out that Crawford fell.
Short of hearing the messages on the answering machine herself (not just telling her about them), I doubt she would've accepted that her parents were among the living impaired... and even that might not have been enough.

I don't blame anyone for the events of Episode 5 other then the Campman, Clementine in particular is only a child, a smart one at that but still only a child.
To be honest, some of the more... obsessed views displayed are why I hope Clem is a bit character (at best) in season 2.
I think some people are getting waaaaaaaaaaaay more out of the game than is healthy.
I agree with this....mostly the second sentence. In fact I'd be just fine if there was no Clem at all in season 2.
I never hated Clem I just hated that I had to get stuck with her from the beginning. I only find her useful to a certain point and I viewed her as more of a liability by the time I stopped playing. I can only semi buy the argument that she was the cause of Lee's death. Lee behaved recklessly.
I didn't like it when she took off to follow Lee when she wasn't supposed to. That's not cool and the fact that no one tried to correct her for doing so was also disturbing. ZA is not the time for disobeying. So the blame is on her for being disobedient and on the adults for not trying to make her behave.
Bottom line is I'd be totally fine with a Clem free next game.
people have formed groups, made alliances over their hatred for one character or another- people create accounts swearing undying loyalty to this one or that one- but Clem *must* be loved? why is this exactly?
And why does this entire thread seem to be pointing its finger at the one user who has a different opinion about this particular bunch of pixels over the others?
Clem isnt your kid, your are forced to watch over her- she puts the group in danger just like others have...thats all devil's advocate talk but the point is: why does she get this hand waving pass of doing no wrong? Duck didnt get that- and he only made one really bad mistake.
And some one said it was Lee's FAULT for getting bit when he went looking for Clem? THat's laughable- how about, DONT look for Clem and stay safe, hows that ending?

To be fair if Clementine never existed than Lee would be an asshole and many choices would be different for example:
100 people killed the St Johns while 0 people din't kill them
100 people stoled the supplies while 0 people din't steal them
100 people killed Larry while 0 people din't kill him
100 people left Lilly on the road while 0 people din't took her
100 people beaten Molly and killed her while 0 people din't get beat by her
If Clementine never existed than Lee would be like Lilly and he would never trust anyone since his family is dead and he has no one .
Yes Clem disobeyed Lee but at the same time saved him because if she never followed him than the game would end with Molly smashing Lee's skull or if you beat Molly than Lee would put a bullet in her brain and so you would never find out about Crawford and get the supplies and never met Vernon .
Lee would pretty much kill himself at the end if he never took Clementine with him and he would be forgotten when season 2 comes out and last scene in season 1 wouldn't be sad and dramatic if Lee died alone .
Clem isn't a liability , she saved Molly while Lee couldn't in Crawford and also she is the one to carry on Lee's legacy , the one who will remind us of Lee to make sure that he isn't forgotten and if she doesn't appear in season 2 than all of your choices will be for nothing and season 1 would be for nothing and people would be pissed if they never found out what happened to Clem and who are the two strangers on the hill and it would feel like i am playing a different game if Clem doesn't appear in season 2 or other seasons (if they are making other seasons) .
So master psychic what you're saying is that if Clem wasnt in the game, people could act on their TRUE instincts and gut reactions when in a ZA?
Or are you saying that Clem interferred with gameplay by acting as this pseudo conscience for the player, hindering the justice that really should have been brought down on others trying to harm you and yours?
Oh wait, thats what *Im* saying, isnt it- can I get a confirmation?
Kenny kills Larry, not Lee
I took Lilly with me
I didnt kill Molly
I took the supplies. Kids at that age only understand the basics. Dont steal, Dont lie, blah blah- and they only learn that from a world they'll never see again so, she'll have re-learn the new basics: Provide for you and yours
Killing the St Johns was the right thing to do, I resent the fact TTG pulled that ' oh Hi Lee, Im over here, watching you murder people' which made me reload the game

Duck was a liability. Clems 8/9 and she saved people such as Lee Ep 1, the whole group in Ep 2 and Molly in Ep 4. She is in no sence the person who endagers the group. Shes a kid who wants tl find her parents and one lieing bastard tricked her. The game is made by the Lee Clementine relationship that won 80 Game of the Year awards. If you feel its forced on you this is not the game for you. Stick to Black Ops Zombie mode

Well what im trying to say is that if Clem never appeared in the game than Lee would end up like Campman because if he never took Clem with him and found his dead family and having to kill his brother he would be crazy and would most likely put a bullet in his brain because he doesn't have a motive to fight and if Clem wasn't in the game than many people would kill the St Johns for Mark and would not feel guilty and if Clem never became Lee's moral compass than what would be the moral of the story , to be an asshole who doesn't feel regrets in the zombie apocalypse and continue to kill and steal until there is nothing ?
If Lee never took Clem and died alone than the ending wouldn't be sad and he would be forgotten in season 2 because there would be no one to carry his legacy

lol- Kids are a liabilty in dangerous situations, period. I know how many awards it won thanks, and watch your tone, clown- Dont tell me where to go and what to play because I've infringed on your sick infactuation with a set of pixels in the form of an 8yr old girl. Its borderline pedophilic.
I bought this game just like you and have the right to engage in any and all discussions- now, if YOU dont like that, you can now chose to ignore the rest of my comments or we can go at this until the mods come. Your call.

Almost sounds like you're saying kids are needed in the ZA for adults to keep their moral fiber intact. She does act as a moral compass- but its a moral compass grounded in a world with rules and a society- all of that is gone so because she's a kid, she can only apply those rules to this world. And that doesnt work, so in effect its more of a hinderance, imo
And nobs who throw around accusations of Peodophilia. Now calm down Clint Eastwood talking about Mods when you threw a very sick accusation. You do not joke about that kind of thing, it is sick. Your obviously like many of those hardcore gamers who do not get the point of the game.
You want to talk about watching a tone in the UK right now that is a VERY serious issue after recent news with TV presenters from the 70s like Rolf Harris and Jimmy Saville.
Anyway, I dont see how you can claim all kids are a liability.
Episode 1: Lee dies in the house, does not get the cane in the pharmacy so dies again.
Ep 2: Clementine is in the vent and lets them out before they get eaten.
Ep 3: Duck helps find out about Ben
Ep 4: Molly kills Lee, Molly dies in Crawford
You must not have played the game much if you think kids are a liability. Clementine and Lees relationship made the game. By your comments you are obviously not mature enough to get the game. Is liking the Simpsons Peodofilic?
Let's divide The Walking Dead universe for two parts:
Comics - shows us truly human brutality, who lives in everybody, but in our life it's constrained by social and law-enforcement measures.
Game - shows us truly human brutality, who lives in everybody, but also it's shows us that humans (not all) still can feel, still can love, even when world in ruins, even when death can got you anytime.
I mean without this set of pixels named Clementine, game would be the same as comics. Honestly, when I just began to play I wanted to see same things what I saw in comics, murdering, blood, horror, brutality. I was mistaken. Game shows us a different side of TWD universe, and it's all thanks to characters as like Lee and Clem. Kenny and his family.
P.S. About set of pixels: I agree that we should not perceive it as real a little girl, she's a fiction - character of the fiction story. You can't hurt her rude words because she does not exist, that's why I don't understand people who telling "I'm ready for anything for her!" For whom? Goddamit! She's not real, she can't appreciate that. BUT it's not just a set of pixels, she's a character, I mean it's just as like to say that: "Romeo and Juliet it's just a set of letters. Why are you sorry about them?" Because the are the part of Shakespeare's soul, as like Clementine the part of soul (creation) of screenwriters of Telltale, and now she is a part of our souls. ( I wrote what it's means here: https://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=795485#post795485)
I just wanted to say that we should respect the opinions of all of us, and we should't be dogmatic. I hope that this is the end of this thread.
speaking of zealots...well you havent told me to go off and play another game, so you're learning at least- now if you can take a deep breath and stop assaulting my maturity level , we might...MIGHT be able to have an adult conversation here (although Im pretty sure we'll still be short one on your end). Here, lets start with the basics:
People will have different opinions than you, and, when they do its not the time to try and assualt them personally.
Your posts are like personal assaults covered with random game facts.
Kids arent liabilities in dangerous situations. You dont see this, ya? Kids have the same sensibilities and frame of mind as adults in all situations ya? Wonder why we dont just employ them in all our armed forces since their so competent...oh thats right, its becuse they're k i d s. Children. Not fully developed adults. Still growing, in MIND and body. Now I guess I should respond in your fashion and call this 'bloody rubbish' but that would immature, wouldnt it?
Instead I disagree with you. See how this works? Its called civility. try it some time.

See, this is much easier to understand where you're coming from- comparing the two mediums, then explaining your personal point of view- this is clear.
I had a problem like this with Ben- hated him with pure passion and would go after anyone who tried to defend him- embarassing posts when I look back at them lol

You claimed my view point is near Peodofillic, dont you go taking the moral highground. So even though Clementine does all that she is a liability? Most kids are but in this case its not. Im not saying put kids in the army I am saying they arent always liabilities. In this universe some that are more intelligent like Clems character are not a liability. Throughout the game Clementine pulls her own weight for the group. Duck however is a liability, he and Ben are useless

Bravo, mate- you actually replied without a single overt assault! Well done, we'll make a human out of you yet.
In any movie I've seen when barabarians are at the gate, or monsters storming the main entrance, whatever, first thing men says is 'Get women and (say it with me) to safety', or 'Protect the women and (children)"
I've never seen a movie where the men are like "women, hide downstairs and tell all the kids to come up and grab some weapons and armor, cause they're mature for their age and well adjusted and can really be an asset here'
In cases of a perceived danger, most adults would opt for protecting their children, not gearing them up to assist in an upcoming skirmish. Im not even a parent and thats common sense to me. Children arent a liability in dangerous scenarios eh? Ok. If you say so- cause that's your opinion and you're entitiled to it- see what I did there?
And yes, I did call your views that- what of it? I made my initial post in this thread and you attacked it- so here's your reward for being so hospitable to people entering discussions- if you dont want to be perceived as pedo, stop idolizing this little girl like she's the second coming and get that creepy avatar of Clem resting her head on Lee's shoulder cause it's making me think that you wish you were Lee in the pic. Just saying.

That avatar is just one of my favorite moments in the game when I came on here. Its not like I photoshoped my head onto Lees? The fact is your being a massive hypocrit having a go at me for posting 'hostility' when you call me a Peodo. I don't think shes Jesus. I do however think dshe is one of the best game characters of alltime. If calling me a Peodo is 'just your opinion' and you want to 'make a human of me'. You hate helping an 8 year old girl in the ZA.... thats inhuman.
In my opinion as you would put it you are an inhuman, imature arse who should stop throwing sick accusations at people because they disagree with your opinion. Its a term you should not throw around at people. Especially after this years events in the USA and here in England. To call someone a peodofile for appreciating a great character obviously shows you are a very imature and cold person. Think before you post such an offensive accusation. I have a little sister, I would never do anything like that to a child.
Ok, its pretty clear I got your goat. You're mispelling words left and right, you still cant shake the fact that in the game she's an 8yr girl, but in the real world she's just textures and pixels created for your entertainment, and now you're trying to show me your family pics. The rest of it isnt worth addressing. All of this could have been avoided if you had shown just the smallest bit of decency in that first reply. I hope we can end this on a high note and that the next time we meet in a thread I dont have to destroy you in it to make my point. Good day, sir.
Guys calm down, it's a very intense game alright, I don't think that guy, or anyone else is a pedo for liking a very likeable character, who happens to be a kid.
To be honest, those who come up with words like that seem more suspicious to me, than those, who get accused. So could we all please stay friendly and calm like adults?
I mean there's no need to outright start a shitstorm for having different opinions and takes on the game. If one is a rather distanced person, who doesn't feel too much about games and movies, and the other one is a more emotional person, that's perfectly fine.
You're right Zero, I made a simple comment and this dude came at me with some BS about GOTY award count and I should go back to some COD Zombie Mod- cause I dont 'get this game' or some such nonsense. Im sure Jesus would turn the other cheek, however I'm not him, nor did I incite this guy into making those comments, so he gets what he gets.
Its touch screen smart phone, typing errors are quick. Its does not matter if its some pixels you are accusing me of having very evil thoughts about a child, thats not just a 'Your a dick****' its a very different kind of label for someone. You have no highground, you avoid the point and just go "Ohh shes just pixels'.
As Im stating think before you throw around insults like that at people, i find the idea sick and repulsive that you would even think about it.

You associated me with Peodofillia, thats what angers me. Thats what has incited me. Your opinions are tollerable though I dislike them. You sir need to stop trying to get on the high horse.

Oh darn, that one was correct. No, wait, don't change now!

As Im stating think before you throw around insults like that at people, i find the idea sick and repulsive that you would even think about it.
