Crap I just remembered that my avatar pic was giving to me as a gift, and knowing myself and my poor memory with PC's and stuff I am going to forget to save it before the launch, glorious.
I was about to get to that, I am honestly not adept with PCs you know, every time I tried to get a pic it would fail for one reason or another, is it as easy as just coping the URL?

Was anyone really screaming out for threaded discussions?
I don't like how they result in all kinds of mini chats.
I don't remember ever hearing, "you know, this forum just isn't cluttered or complicated enough. What it needs is a busier structure like old school newsgroups."
Trust me, a large number of the moderators voiced plenty of concern over the threaded discussions. It didn't change anything. The community voiced concern over it during the beta. The only change was an attempt to make new posts easier to find.
If I'm perfectly honest about it, what I expect is that the community reaction in the Walking Dead and Fables subforums will have the largest impact on the forums going forward, and I don't anticipate them having any problem with it. I expect that General Chat will be displeased with it, and while a few people will leave the forums over it, it'll limp along via the old linear threads. And nothing will change in regards to the threaded discussions.
I'm with the other moderators. I fully intend to give the new forums a fair chance, and I hope it's not as bad as I fear. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about it.
The decision to go with nested comments was made by the higher ups, and they had their reasons for doing so.
But as I've mentioned elsewhere, this isn't set in stone - if it proves wildly unpopular, then it could very well be changed back to a more traditional forum style. It all depends on how this is received.
That said, yeah - very few people actually liked it in Beta, especially us mods - it made keeping track of all the individual posts in a thread sorry, discussion, an absolute nightmare - so we'll see.
And Bioshock Infinite WD - when the new forum launches, I'll go over how to change your avatar with you. Keep an eye out for my Private Message, OK?
I think the only way to battle the nested comment system is to post a thread for every conceivable topic that might ever come up, so we have a traditional type thread for it!

Thank you very much, still proving once again you are one of the best mods here one person at a time.
These are pretty important to me too. I'm pretty fussy about reading every post in the threads I follow, so a forum solution that makes that hard doesn't work for me. The beta was pretty much broken on mobile devices, so I really hope they went with a more responsive design after receiving feedback on it.
Change has been needed, certainly. We'll see if it's a good change or a bad one soon enough.
I think it'll be like this video.
Peri is the community, The bats milk was the WOYM reboot (without which many more community members would leave as that thread would have to be rebooted as a discussion thing!), and the fifth doctor is the current, much loved doctor, turning into a much hated (to begin with) doctor!
(Disappointingly learned Bill Pullman did not have a Twitter, or else I'd have had the second one be "I, Bill Pullman, who played the President in Independance Day," which is much more satisfying)
Comments
I'll never forget!
I see. I still have my account. Thank you.
Don't be so sure. We have our super secret monkey weapon.
Hopefully not.
Why mess up a good thing? Cluttered mess, here we come!
Very sad.

What are the chances of them going back to this style if people hate the threaded discussions? Who makes those decisions?
Hopefully the moderators are giving voice to our concerns when they report to the powers that be.

Telltale eats the forums?
Telltale game forums.
Ridiculous tags since about a week.
Oh god I hope not. At least not the three+ lines ones.
Well if people stopped saying great thing about me it wouldn't be so long.
*spam mode activate!*
Ah, thanks for that, I do wonder can I re upload a pic after we move, or does it need to be done now?

Something with 'crack' at least.
Wait, got another report coming in:
