As stated before, threads imported from the current forum will be as they are now - one long series of posts sorted in a linear fashion. Threads made in the NEW forum will be something like they are on Reddit - you have your standard posts as before, but you can have replies to individual posts, that can themselves have replies.
This approach... did not have many fans when the open beta temporarily went live earlier in the year.
Tweaks have been made and it's supposed to be easier to use, but we won't know if people will like it or not until it goes live tomorrow. So we'll see.
We won't out-and-out stop people from leaving if they're not happy with the new direction, but we do ask that people at least give it a try before just abandoning us. Just give it a couple of days and see if it grows on you.
They seem to say this is a work in progress according to the original post so who knows what will happen in the long run. I hope that if they don't take the previous proposal of "optional" threading that they at least could implement a "linear view" where layered replies are all listed in chronological order with the previous layer as a quote alongside regular posts in one layer. That being said though, I'm cautiously optimistic and willing to give this a chance.
By "stock up", we do NOT mean create a dozen threads just because you want to avoid the threaded aspect of the new forums. If anyone tries that, they'll be looking at warnings or worse.
BUT... if you were thinking of maybe starting a thread about something within the next couple of days, now might be a good time to start it. Just... just don't go overboard please.
I was thinking about making a community game thread for a while. Basically its where people in the forums could have post and ask if anyone wanted to play a game like TF2 or something. Basically the idea was trying to get some community games of TF2 etc since its been a while since the community played an event or anything like Guru's Monkey Island or Sam & Max races. It wouldn't be anything like those events. Basically just a thread where people could ask if other people wanted to play a game. What does everyone think?

I am not a fan of that format, but I will give it a try, but I got a bad feeling about this, a real bad feeling.
What are the benefits of abandoning the current popular forum style in favor of the Reddit style? Am interested to hear the arguments for the destruction of the current forum. Hey, I'm willing to give it a chance. It's good to know they'll be listening to feedback if we don't like aspects of the new forum.
I don't know about "normal" fonts, but each forum had it's own special font you could choose to use in addition to the default font. Also, the forum system works differently so you use different methods to bold/itilisize words or other things like that.
i feel like i should same something to commemorate how good this forum has been. of all the good times shared here and all the good people within. i will sum this up in one word. ahem. potatoes. jk but this forum really has been great hope the new version will be just as good.
I think Telltale has made their own customized variant of forum software for the new site, so that entirely would depend on if they added it or not, which I hope they did.
I created a ~completely serious~ montage tribute for the old version of telltalegames.com.
You sir, are the best. Truly a champion.
I am glad this old site is being retired after about seven years of noble service. It's the best that the site is opening the same day as the new Bay Bridge.
PS: is the word pineapple still censored? Probably not. Hopefully meaningless censorship of nonsense words is carried over, however.

I think some random fruit might be censored, but I'm not sure which one. I know the plural of Winslow is still censored, though. Why "********" would be censored, I don't know.
Hmm, I am half surprised I am not listed in the Walking Dead section after posting so much stuff in that sub area, well thanks for mentioning that, I loved it quite a bit.
I don't know why the video exported in such a low quality. It also kind of killed some of the jokes. You were supposed to easily distinguish between the (originally) high-def website screenshots and the tacky low quality 80's/90's vintage videos.
Also, you probably couldn't make it out because of the blurry text but at the "Games page" section of the video, the highlighted text was supposed to be a joke about how Telltale was well known for "funny" games while below, all of their dramatic games were listed more prominently than their funny games.
Jurassic Park came out, tanked, and they came to us to see what went wrong with their direction. Now that they're successful...will they care what we have to say?
Oh probably not, nevermind. We also wanted more puzzles and look how that turned out.

Will we have a way of reporting bugs and teething errors and stuff?
Sure, we'll make a thread and have Telltale search through the threaded bug reports.
Yes. I shall draw dicks and butts for them once we reach 20 pages.
Wouldn't it be easier to just use the suggestions thread? I mean the thread is for reporting bugs and suggestions for the forums.
That is why a lot of us have began stocking up on classic threads before the winter...
Only new threads will be affected...

If not... well...
Oh no you're not.

Just make threads you are actually going to use...
Not spammy ones...
Thanks for all the spam.

Love this, man! Bookmarked for nostalgia.
This is amazing!!!

I'm so excited for the new forums!!!!
I don't like that setup very much either

The original post says sometime in the morning.
What day was that screen shot taken around 41 seconds, just wondering, by the way I loved it and booked marked it to remember the good old days.
