It's her choice but, I'm sure there are a lot of members that do appreciate what you all do. And by the sounds of it. I don't blame her for getting upset.
It's entirely her choice. All moderators are only volunteers, and we don't have to convince someone to stay against their will. The disrespect about that merged thread deal was nigh unbearable, and she had every right to be offended.
Guys. Calm down. Look, people got angry because Jennifer merged FOTD with the two other threads unexpectedly. And a lot of us were depressed and had family problems. So, people panicked and overreacted. As you can see they regret what they've said. We were angry because the lounge was a very special place for us. For me at least. And I wasn't even there in the very beginning. We were a family. Anyway, I think we owe Jennifer an apology. Because she did what she thought was right. So... I'm sorry if we offended you Jennifer.
Personally, I prefer keeping the dislike button. I understand the frustration with stupid, baseless downvotes, because I've been at the receiving end. However, I like to see the popularity/lack of popularity of an idea. Are we so sensitive as a society these days that we can't handle a downvote button? Some people don't want to take the time to write out why they disagree, so they downvote. I've never really used the downvote button much myself, but I appreciate its purpose. I think removing anonymity would have been more productive if we want to find out who the downvoting trolls are. Just my opinion, obviously.
We lost a mod, huh?Shit. It feels like peace without the down vote button, honestly. If you disagree to the guy, tell him already instead of expressing it with a dislike.Show your opinion and respect his.

Well, considering what happened, that's a good thing. I didn't frequent that thread myself. It seemed a bit clique-y but I thought that the people in it were decent enough. This whole situation has made me (and it seems like a lot of other people) question that.
i want to i really do i dont even want to talk about the situation but i cant stand the fact that people are making all of us look like horrible people cause we said a few mean things out of anger which we didnt mean
I get worked up over that kind of abuse and rightfully so, I would say. I've experienced it a lot myself. The fact there are actually human beings capable of overreacting to such a degree makes me lose faith.
Easy there pal! You're doing the same fucking thing you're talking about!
You don't know them, you don't know what they do in their spare… more time, don't call them out like that, yeah they did some things wrong but that doesn't justify calling them "sad twats".
This is no reason to lose faith in humanity, you're exaggerating just like they did to an extent.
The only reference to TWD is in the title, you only needed to tweak the title to remove the reference of TWD. Then nobody has to have their threads mashed together into some "Megathread".
Doesn't change that a fan fiction doesn't need an off topic thread when we already had a designated off topic thread elsewhere.
Yes, we w… moreere late to act and let the thread grow large when we should have merged it sooner. Whoopsie daisy, better late than never.
If a staggering majority of the posts from the other threads are way upfront, why does it even matter?

Honestly, I was disappointed in the way some people acted. Jennifer tried to at least fix the thread, wasn't that enough? All we had to do was continue on like we have always been doing, but some people kept harassing her and arguing over and over when the whole thing was over with. Some people even tried to stop it, but that didn't work. There was no reason to continue the fighting, now a mod wants to leave because of it. Good job, guys....
I disagree with the dislike button being removed, not everyone here is trolls, and I'm certainly not. If I don't like a comment (within reason), I should be able to dislike it.
"Corrupt"? I, admittedly, know little about this situation, but isn't "corrupt" kind of a strong word. It implies that they wanted to cause harm. I would hope that that's not true.
Neither do I, and I don't think it will. A lot of us are considering moving somewhere else where we don't have our discussion controlled by … morea corrupt mod. It's just sad, because 4 months and over 50,000 comments is pretty much over with. I started playing TWDG near the release for Starved For Help, and my first account was made in November 2012. Kind of sad that the community has come to this.
A single fan fiction on the forum game section did not deserve it's own off topic thread.
(I'd brace myself for down votes, but I don't have to anymore. HA!)
Can't really send you a link. The form of the dead lounge was of the place were lots of people group together like family. It was merged wit… moreh other threads by Jennifer, and many people got upset and verbally attacked her. Really she got upset and left the forums.

My main reason for coming to the forums is usually to debate with others about twdg, and sometimes twau. Other than that, I've never really branched out to off topic threads, if ever.
But it does seem to be that there had been conversations going on there for years, and to have it suddenly be taken away must suck a lot.

I agree. Poor Jennifer received TONS of hate and backlash by doing what she did. I didn't think any of it was acceptable. She merged the threads because she thought it would help and let everyone discuss. She just didn't know that the Forum of the Dead lounge people (including me) were really close to each other and they didn't like that they lost all of the previous 400+ pages of posts and that they had to share with other people talking about other off topic stuff. I didn't like this move, but I don't think Jennifer deserved the response she got. If we didn't like the move, we could have just calmly told her that we didn't like it instead of threatening her and humiliating her. If she purposely did this just to piss us off, then I'd understand the hate. But she tried to help without knowing much about the relationships on these threads and everyone got so angry it caused her to leave. And the fact that she tried to help get things back to the way they were means that she did care. People weren't grateful of that and kept arguing until she couldn't take it anymore. Unacceptable. I think we should all apologize to Jennifer.
I joined back in March, does that count as new still? I've seen you around, but I don't think I've ever talked to you either.
edit: Hello to you too, AWESOMEO!:)
Oh, I understand it pretty well. You, people, all your Corleone family, are a part of some different sub-forum, that lives its own life, des… morepite, nevertheless, still being a part of this forum, and whoever is outside of your Corleone family doesn't have a right to express their opinion or make an argument because they "don't understand".
Fine, then. Voicing an opinion was never an easy task on these forums, anyway.
Comments
They wouldn't ask me with respect. They wouldn't offer friendship. They don't even think to call me Mr. House.
Yeah. I'm dyspraxic. I am retarded. Spare me the bullshit. I don't find the word offensive.
Now I'll make my exit before I get too pissed off.
I know how this happened, but I know nothing of this mod or anything, I need background info.
send me a link i dont understand you friend

Hello Tinni, seems like I never got to talk to you, are you new?
No. I moved it to the appropriate section months ago.

Couldn't agree more.

It was necessary and should have been done about half a year ago.
Someday. And that day may never come. The forum will ask upon you to do a service.
It is. I don't like the look of it. It looks like it was cut in half. ;-)
Put three slices of bacon in the middle of a massive hamburger.

Man... I honestly feel bad for Jennifer.

I just now noticed there's no downvote button anymore.
lol
That's what you guys think, too bad we all just don't think the same way...
You're the one with the power, so we have no other option but sit and take it, but was it really necessary?
Were we that much of a nuisance?
...but we already had threads that filled that purpose. We just merged them.
That's part of what we do. We try to merge similar threads to remove clutter.

Nah, you're not new then, you're a senior xD
Nice to meet you
How about they PM you and tell you their side first. There was never a strict membership, you could have easily joined.
But, until that day, I'll accept this justice as a gift on my 4th cousin's wedding day.
Lol.
