No, I'm my saying that. You're allowed to voice your opinion, I'm not stopping you from that. You just did it right now with that comment. And I respect you for that, a WHOLE LOT I like it when people express their opinions because others can learn new things and understand other peoples point of views.
I'm just saying that it's like you're trying to argue about something that you don't know the full story to. And when you find out the whole story, your statements and how you think of the situation will probably change. And I'm not saying that the people in the lounge are above others, I'm just sayin that you weren't actually there. You just saw sorta big bits and pieces if the situation. This situation has a little to do with the past also(and I'm talking months ago). And you most probably went aware of that.
Please excuse me if I'm coming off offensive, that's not what I'm trying to do... It's just that some people get the wrongs idea sometimes, and I know you're a reasonable and intelligent man, I just dont want you to think I'm trying to start something along with what's already going on.
Oh, I understand it pretty well. You, people, all your Corleone family, are a part of some different sub-forum, that lives its own life, des… morepite, nevertheless, still being a part of this forum, and whoever is outside of your Corleone family doesn't have a right to express their opinion or make an argument because they "don't understand".
Fine, then. Voicing an opinion was never an easy task on these forums, anyway.
That's what you guys think, too bad we all just don't think the same way...
You're the one with the power, so we have no other option but sit and take it, but was it really necessary?
Were we that much of a nuisance?
Jennifer's gone :c? She seemed nice. Maybe you guys went too far. I mean, the thread is still there. No one else really even goes to Telltale talk. It will be basically the same.
You can't just downvote instead of expressing your disagreement, it's stupid and convenient, people put time into writing things with a meaning and then someone just downvotes it and leaves you hanging like that, thinking "what did I say wrong?"...
Some people are more vulnerable, they get offended, and you can't change how they feel, it's best to just remove it from the equation.
Personally, I prefer keeping the dislike button. I understand the frustration with stupid, baseless downvotes, because I've been at the rece… moreiving end. However, I like to see the popularity/lack of popularity of an idea. Are we so sensitive as a society these days that we can't handle a downvote button? Some people don't want to take the time to write out why they disagree, so they downvote. I've never really used the downvote button much myself, but I appreciate its purpose. I think removing anonymity would have been more productive if we want to find out who the downvoting trolls are. Just my opinion, obviously.
(Kinda off topic here...but since there are no downvotes...I'm gonna express my opinion.)
I don't know why is this mod situation reminds me of PressFartToContinue's (a.k.a. The youtube commenter that is everywhere) framed situation too...maybe cuz he was a mod too...meh
Look, if you (or any of the people from the Lounge) want me to at least get a better insight on the situation, feel free to enlighten me. Not sure if it would change my views, but it might give me a better perspective overall.

I agree. We joined this forum around the same time and while I haven't commented as much as you, I lurk a lot. I've seen the same things you have. Being a mod is a thankless job and most of the ones here are pretty cool. They volunteer their time to keep the forum cleaned up. They're human, like the rest of us, and sometimes make mistakes, but I've yet to see one intentionally try to harm or insult people on the forums. I don't really know what went down, but maybe some perspective is needed. At the end of the day, this is just another gaming forum. It's pretty insignificant and nothing to get too heated over. Deep breaths and happy thoughts, people. ;-)
And another thing. I see people getting angry at the mods all the time. I've been on this forum for almost a year now, and I've seen this ha… moreppen time after time. These people don't get paid, they don't get rewarded, most of the time they don't even get mentioned. But they do this because they want to. Not because they have to. They love this forum enough not to want to see it go to pieces, like many other websites do. Try and support them. Because if they tirelessly attempt to make this a better place, and you tirelessly hate on them, they'll leave. A few of them already have. Just... be nice. Be positive. Be a good person. This will sound cheesy, but change? change starts with you.
didn't like that they lost all of the previous 400+ pages of posts
You never lost so much as even a single post the first place. It was merged. By the very definition of the word, it just coexists with other posts. I apologize if I unintentionally sound like a smart aleck, but I really don't know how to get the point across any easier.
I agree. Poor Jennifer received TONS of hate and backlash by doing what she did. I didn't think any of it was acceptable. She merged the thr… moreeads because she thought it would help and let everyone discuss. She just didn't know that the Forum of the Dead lounge people (including me) were really close to each other and they didn't like that they lost all of the previous 400+ pages of posts and that they had to share with other people talking about other off topic stuff. I didn't like this move, but I don't think Jennifer deserved the response she got. If we didn't like the move, we could have just calmly told her that we didn't like it instead of threatening her and humiliating her. If she purposely did this just to piss us off, then I'd understand the hate. But she tried to help without knowing much about the relationships on these threads and everyone got so angry it caused her to leave. And the fact that she tried to help get things back to … [view original content]
Nothing was taken away. There were 3 threads made to be "discuss anything" threads. One of them was the "forum of the dead" which it seems was intended to allow a small group of users to discuss anything in there own little private space. All Jennifer did was merge the forum of the dead thread with the other 2 "discuss anything" threads so that there would just be one place for people to discuss anything rather than 3 separate threads on 2 separate boards. Nothing was deleted. Conversations could go on as normal. The only difference was that the small group of users had to potentially share their thread with other users.
My main reason for coming to the forums is usually to debate with others about twdg, and sometimes twau. Other than that, I've never really … morebranched out to off topic threads, if ever.
But it does seem to be that there had been conversations going on there for years, and to have it suddenly be taken away must suck a lot.
But this isn't just merging threads like about release dates, your merging communities. Communities that may not be comfortable with being pushed involuntairly into whole new communities, that may not like eachother, that may even argue with eachother. That is not fair and will break all of those originally peaceful communities.
...but we already had threads that filled that purpose. We just merged them.
That's part of what we do. We try to merge similar threads to remove clutter.
Lol. The downvote has returned from the dead. It's a zombie downvote. Well, I hope you're being sarcastic. Otherwise it would seem that you agree with me, being that you used a downvote to express your disagreement, instead of explaining why you disagree. ;-)

Hey buddy, don't generalize us, it's not a cult, and that happened only after the merge, even though I didn't have a part of it, I can say that it was over the top.
Still, if that's why you think we are a nuisance, then you need to realize it happened only after the merge, not before.
I never wanted to join the Lounge. Not when it was a place to discuss the fanfic I never read, nor when it became what it is, a lounge.
Well, they can PM me and tell their side of the story, but I doubt any of them would be willing.
This isn't the past now. This is the present, and it's now that matters.
Maybe you could have had the merge peacefully undone if you calmly made valid points and requested politely? Oh, no, of course that wasn't good enough! You had to make someone feel like shit! Bravo!
Well, it's only 2 or 3 people, and they had a bond to the place, the fact that it wasn't done in a good reason made them angry.
They delt with a lot of depression lately, some people passed away and there was sadness all over, some of them were still sad and angry about shit they had to deal with in their personal lives.
I get worked up over that kind of abuse and rightfully so, I would say. I've experienced it a lot myself. The fact there are actually human beings capable of overreacting to such a degree makes me lose faith.

I understand why you hate it, but I still disagree. Trust me, I've received more downvotes than I've ever given, lol. I totally understand the frustration with writing something you've put time and thought into and getting downvotes without an explanation. You're right, it does leave you wondering. I still feel that the downvote button has its purpose. Why not remove the upvote button too? Why have voting at all? I think it should be all or nothing. You should be able to express your support as much as your lack of support of an idea. I also think that if people get so offended over a downvote, then they shouldn't be commenting on a forum that has them. People need to learn how to cope with the fact that not everyone will agree. I think it's kind of one-sided to allow an upvote, but not a downvote.
That's the reason why I hate it so much...

And that's funny because…?

...You do know that Google tailors search box results by what you frequently search for, your location, and other variables right?
Well fucking said. Clearly the members of this 'lounge' are a nuisance considering they drove away a perfectly decent moderator.
(Kinda off topic here...but since there are no downvotes...I'm gonna express my opinion.)

Still lost....
Oui.
Damn,I thought I had it.
officially? I'm not the prime minister xD
You seem nice, you should stick around when the lounge will be open again.
still lost...

Well, at present, but before, were we a nuisance to you?
Or were we in the thread, not doing anything to you guys whatsoever?
Well, yeah. Okay, besides that nothing was taken away AT ALL and the thread had only existed for a few months.

Still, if that's why you think we are a nuisance, then you need to realize it happened only after the merge, not before.
Wow. I'm guessing you've never been to any thread on this forum before. This forum is all about forging friendships. Not "ducking bullshit".
I'm certain they will, I invite them to.
I just read through the thread everyone is talking about.
Hard stuff. I feel sad for Jennifer.
This isn't the past now. This is the present, and it's now that matters.

Chill out man. Apologize for what you did and try to be peaceful for once.
You think we didn't? Hell yeah we did!
We are about 15 people, it's hard maintaining the same attitude, and because 2 or 3 people you can't just say that we all went nuts about it.
I understand why you hate it, but I still disagree. Trust me, I've received more downvotes than I've ever given, lol. Doesn't give them the right to bully a mod who was just doing her work. For free.
Really? In that case, that makes it more of a stupid reason to give her hate. I mean, if everything is still there, what is everyone SO angry about? Sharing with other people? If that's the case, people really overretcted over something that wasn't even THAT big.
Just apologize. I haven't seen a genuine one from any of you. Your excuses are laughable, really.
