Ah, okay. I'll just get it from GoG, then. (I have the GoG version of Shogo, and it runs like a dream, so Blood 2 should be fine)

Not sure why I want to play it again in the first place. :p It's one of my least favorite sequels to games I love.

Well I don't really like it that much either, but it's just a mind numbing first person shooter. And I need that some times. :p

I played through Sonic 1 and 2 tonight. Tomorrow I'll play Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and hopefully I can manage to pick up a Wii points card in the next couple days so I can follow it immediately with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode One.

Haha, good point. And Caleb's one-liners are still in top form, so there's that. :p

    Einhander.

    It really deserved a sequel.

    I'm playing the lost crown.
The game is massive and took me a little bit to get used to as its mostly black and white and is quite creepy for me .
I'm absolutely hooked on it though and loving it.

I would be playing Oregon Trail II, but I can't get it to run in Windows 7. Boo.

Instead I'm replaying Fallout 3, again, and using the console to recreate various versions of 40 Mines and 1 Old Man. I love the console so very much.

Playing Fire Emblem (Fire Emblem 7: Rekka No Ken, if you want to be specific) on my Virtual Boy Advance again. I have to say, this is still probably my favorite entry in the series, even if there are certain stages that will always just kick my ass.

Also, started playing Tales again today I brought my (unopened) standard DVD of the game with here to the U.K. and my intention is to beat the game again and watch the commentary of each chapter after I clear it. At the end of "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal".

Just making sure, but you have tried setting it to run as administrator and tried every compatibility modes there is?
Another trick I have learned with older games is that sometimes setting the colour down from 32bit to 16bit can also help.

Right click on the desktop, choose Screen Resolution -> Advanced Settings -> Monitor -> find colours that says True Color (32 Bit) and choose High Color (16 bit).

    I hope it helps. :)

Yeah, I know how frustrating that can be. Right now, I'm having little luck getting KOTOR to run in Bootcamp on a friend's computer.

Are you running the 64-bit version of Win7? 64-bit versions of Windows won't run 16-bit code, and many install programs from that era were 16-bit (it's possible that the game is as well.)

From it's Wikipedia entry it looks like it's a Win 3.1 game, but if there's also a DOS version you could try running that via DOSBox.

Still playing Jade Dynasty, don't know why it has taken such an interest.

But my Arden is really fun. :)

Nope, still getting the 'Windows is not compatible' error message, but thanks anyway for the suggestions. It does run on my desktop PC okay, but that's running XP.

Pez, it is 64-bit Win7 I have, but I'll give DosBox a shot, I thought it was Windows-only, but the Wikipedia page suggests otherwise.

I finally got my Wii Points card, so tonight I'm going to do my fifth run in a row of Sonic 3 & Knuckles (one for each character and one from the save file I lost), this time as Knuckles, then I'm going to be playing Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

I don't think it's a very good idea to play 4, the worst out of the 4, right after 3&K, the best.

I bought both Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic and the Secret Rings, knowing full well what I was getting into, so just try and stop me.
  • edited October 2010
Have fun with Secret Rings (I'm not being sarcastic at all, I really liked the game) and at least try not to murder anyone out of rage while trying to beat all of Shadow.
  • edited October 2010
Quite the opposite is more likely to happen. I have no problem playing Shadow (but have no intention of completing the library), but the first time I tried Secret Rings, I ragequit the tutorial.

Lets see how long THAT lasts.

Also, Secret Rings gets way better the more you upgrade.

    *pops in Shadow the Hedgehog*

It would appear that I've got 8 of the 10 story endings. Not sick of it yet.

Modern Sonic is uniformly tat, though!

Finished playing as Knuckles and played one level of Sonic 4. So far...I'm not hating it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. It's not awful so far. My only real complaints are some of the badniks and that it takes so long for Sonic to move faster than a crawl.

But yes, the game should've been so much more than it is. It should have been done in Mega Man 9 style, a straight up 16-bit Sonic game worthy of being the successor to Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

But you know what? So far I still like it better than Sonic 1.

Holy crap, I've been playing Birth by Sleep as Terra for eight days, and while I could go to the "Badlands" and advance the story right now, I don't want to make Land of Departure inaccessible until I've finished the reports as much as possible. Considering how much crap they packed into the reports, and that you have to do them three times, I'm amazed anybody's gotten the secret end yet.

...cause, you know, screw Proud Mode...

    Now playing:
    Force Unleashed II

Oh - and now I'm done.

Kind of playing Whispered World and Jack Keane but I'm having a slight case of broken finger to slow me down (cast since Sept. 19 and operated on Oct. 21) :(

Just got a couple of DS games to play - Last Window & Phoenix Wright (thought it time I give this series a try).
  • edited November 2010
Still on Fallout: New Vegas which continues to not disappoint.
OMG IT'S MARCUS. MARCUS FROM FALLOUT 2. And he's talking about how he spent some time wandering the wasteland with a tribal looking for a GECK. And his voice actor is still Michael Dorn. And there is a town of friendly/not killing me Super Mutants.
    I LOVE THIS GAME.

Not playing it yet, because my disk broke in the move, but I'm trying to get a hold of Curse of Monkey Island again. Problem is, if I do find a copy here, it's probably going to be unable to run on my american computer....

PC: Star Wars: Dark Forces (I can't remember how many times I've played this excellent game)
Maybe I'll soon start CSI: Fatal Conspiracy
Wii: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
PSP: Lemmings (Half way on the Taxing levels)
NDS: Professor Layton and the Lost Future (Game complete 100%, now playing the weekly downloadable puzzles)

Nearly finished with Terra's portion of Birth by Sleep. I just have to mess around in the Mirage Arena doing whatever I want until I get about 4000 more medals, then I just have to decide if I want to try and level grind before finishing off his story. Then I get to do it all over again with Ventus.

...-looks at the date of his last post in this thread-

...I've been working on reports for almost a week. Considering that I think I'd been working on the reports for a while already when I made that post, I think I've spent more time on the reports than I have on the main game...

Anyway, I've also been considering trying to find time to do the Endless Setlist in Rock Band 2 this week. I think instead of saving it for when I have a totally free day, I'm just going to try and get up early one day, start it, and pause and resume it as needed. I'm sure I can finish it over the course of a day if I do that.

Uhh, you can't do that, Spambot. It's only for PC,

Dark Forces? Yuck, that game is the climax of pixel illness.

    Simon The Sorcerer 3D
    Grim Fandago
    Still Life
    Gabriel Knight
    Broken Sword 2.5
    Broken Sword 3

I started those games but never finished them yet.

As far as I know, PC CD-ROM games don't have any kind of region protection (like movie DVD's), nor PAL/NTSC incompatibility problems.
  • edited November 2010
Yep, he's right. So, say I wanted the Mr.Bean PC game, I could play that here.
  • edited November 2010
Really? Because I've had problems with DVDs not region 1 before. If what you're saying is the case though, that'd be awesome. I brought so few games with me across the pond...
