I just have no faith in Lucasarts at this point..so I'd be shocked if it was something like a DOTT episodic series..

What if the new series is Looney Toons? I know it's not possible but what if you got to play as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fud each Episode? Or what if it's The Peanuts, playing as Charlie Brown! Oooorrr what if it's Family Guy? That would be sweet.

I think it might be a new Telltale Texas Hold'em game. Just figured because of the survey about poker games.

LucasArts is rumoured to be resurrecting a "classic franchise" to be revealed at E3.

    Howard the Duck!!!

perhaps, they're going to make Nick Bounty into an episodic series. Being that Mark Darin works for Telltale, and did a fabulous job with the Strong Bad games, it could be possible. I loved the Nick Bounty games and making them into an episodic series would be amazing, especially with their new more cinematic feel the new controls presented by Wallace and Gromit have brought, it would be perfect!!

Still hoping for the "Pirates! In an Adventure With..." series. Now that Aardman are doing the first book as a film that may coincide nicely with releases. ;)

In response to JP-30, that does sound concievable, Lucas Arts have "collaborated" with (read fed off of other hard work) before with the lego star wars and Indy games, so a LucasArts licensed - Telltale developed Monkey Island could be in the realms of possibility, I'm all excited now.

If not that then I expect an original IP, five years in, seems like Telltale might want to give that original IP a shot.

Hasn't Dan said an original IP is still 1 or 2 years away?
  • edited May 2009
I want ATHF, Venture Bros. or just like a Adult swim Bundle.

Here's hoping for a new original IP. *fingers crossed* Also, on the lucasarts thing; it most likely won't be an adventure game. It will probably be an old Star Wars game like "Dark Forces" or "X-Wing/Tie-Fighter". It could also be an obscure game like "Zombies Ate My Neighbors/Ghoul Patrol" since zombies are so popular in games lately. Leave it to lucasarts to jump on the bandwagon as it's leaving the station.

How about an adventure game series based on Flushed Away? Might be kind of cool.

YeeeaaaaaaaNo. That movie was just okay, it didn't compare to W&G COTWR though.

    Q: Does competition worry you?

Dan Connors: No, because I think there's still that point about people needing to understand what it is, and Telltale is always going to define its own kind of game. When we talked about our vision statement early as a company that, whenever people sit down and play a game of ours, they know it's a Telltale game. It has some set of qualities that is Telltale.

So we want to be there and have people around us that are doing similar things, and we want to learn from them and that validates things. I will say that we've been hearing from a lot of big publishers that have ideas for their franchises, asking how we'd like to work with them.

Q: That must be very flattering?

Dan Connors: Is it, but we're not a work-for-hire studio either, and that's a real hard thing for them to get their brains around. Telltale has built a business - we're an independent developer and publishers, we're going out and licensing, we're funding the products and we're monetising them.

For economic health of the company, those are three critical pieces, so we just need to find relationships that will let us work in that context, or at least some of them.

Actually, I noticed a few things in that survey about gaming in particular...not just Poker games. I did think about a new IP as I filled it out.

ALSO, if you'll notice, that there survey is gone now, that link on the blog leads to the Telltale Landing. Deleted to hiiiiiide something, perhaps? Something about a new IP? Was that whole quiz just a scam to help them decide which new IP to announce at E3? WHAT IF OUR DREAMS ARE ACTUALLY REAL AND OUR LIVES ARE JUST DREAMS?!?!?!

...I think I just jumped to conclusions. Like, tons.

The new series should be Dank. Totally.

I still think a "The Tick" episodic series would be great..

By the way, who said that the new series is going to be an adventure-game? Episodic Jump'n'Run maybe? Or Episodic SingAlong?
  • edited May 2009
I'm no good at guessing stuff, and I wasn't expecting a Strong Bad or Wallace and Gromit game at all when they were announced, so I'm just going to sit back and be pleasantly surprised with whatever Telltale's planning. :)

I'm with wefeelgroove with this one. Whatever new series it is, I'll say "cool" and probably buy the whole season.

I'm still surprised that article hasn't exploded over these forums yet. Not sure how relevant that is to Telltale, though, since I don't imagine Telltale getting anybody worked up with teasers if it was just going to be a remake, which that seems to be.

Why is everyone forgetting about the other classic/abandoned adventure games from the 90's. Freddie Fish, Spy Fox, Pajama Sam, and Putt-Putt anyone? It would be awesome for telltale to pick these up.
  • edited May 2009
They've all been ported to Wii recently, so things are still happening with that IP.

If anything was going to happen insofar as new games using those characters, wouldn't Ron Gilbert/Hothead be a better company than Telltale to make them?
  • edited May 2009
I'm going to guess something REALLY out there that NO one would expect: Animaniacs.

And of course, since I always make this prediction whenever Telltale is about to announce a new project, even though I know it'll never happen...Adventures of Team Rocket.

Eddsworld is awesome (THIS IS THE GREATEST INVENTION SINCE...AIR)

Speaking of more flash stuff, Journeys of Reemus would be awesome as a full-length adventure game. Seriously. I would love that.

I started a thread about that before, that series was discontinued. (All of them)

But never fear! During the Summer, I'll be uploading some Freddi Fish videos, (From Freddi Fish 4) and they might be slightly enjoyable! Stay tuned.
