    That's a great teaser image.

Looks a bit like an island floating in space!

Those who were wanting a graveyard scene will be happy.

Dunno what to make of it, wish it told us a bit more!!! It's nice to actually have a release date in advance though ^.^

Reminds me a bit of the graveyard in Monkey Island 2...

Looks like Scabb Island! Probably isn't though. Unless that crypt in the background is one of Stan's Cozy Crypts. I really like the art though, really reminds me of CMI. And do I spot Murray?

    Aaah, beautiful… I love concept-arts.

Awesome! But now this will make the wait even worse :p

    Fantastic artwork, by the way.

I must say I am SO happy it isn't being released until December 8th, think of how polished it will be!

I was SO going to write the exact same. If I read a post going "Meeeh, they failed to keep to their monthly release cycle" I'm gonna jump at them.

Eight more days of tingly anticipation!! That's great!! :D

There's already one in the blog post, but David E had a nice response to it.

Fantastic teaser-image... I love the spotlight shining onto the top (Guybrush's?) grave...

I genuinely haven't been this excited about a game for over a decade.

I take it it's going to make an appearance in the next "I Wonder What Happens..."? :D

It better not be a Jesus analogy.

I have _never_ been this excited about a game. :D

I dont care when its released as long as they take the necessary time to deliver a good quality game! So it's better to play a complete good game without bugs than play a game bugg filled, and with low qualities.

I trust ttg judgement and it makes me feel like they care to deliver a better game late than deliver at the appointed date a bad game. This ensures to me we will have a great ending to the season finale. :(

I hope people who are visiting the front page have all played Episode 4. If we have spoiler warnings in the forum, you'd think they would on the front page.

I was just thinking...hopefully it won't be TOO good. :D

More time doesn't mean a polished, bug-free and disappointment free last episode. Just look at the mess made with Windows Vista (not really comparable, just making the point). I just wonder if telltale spend's too long putting in extra bits that are not needed (i.e. Doing a cut-scene and voices for many dead-ends) and don't spend enough time making sure 'the core' bits work. Don't get me wrong I like being able to use items in ways that aren't intended and getting a witty response from Guybrush, but think how many of these are there to code and test.... (And don't forgot most people probably miss these - unless they get stuck and try to use every item with every clickable object).

I was surprised to see the massive spoiler on the home page. After downloading chapter 4, I stayed well away from the website until I completed it, in case of major spoilers. It is some great artwork though.

Great to hear when the final chapter will be out! In the words of the freelance police:

    Sam: "I'm excited."
    Max: "Who isn't?"

Ah well, if you hadn't said that, it wouldn't be a spoiler, and could just mean, that he MIGHT die in Chapter 5 (hence the questionmark). :D

Or that the season is ending.
  • edited November 2009
Episode 4 was called "The Trial And Execution of Guybrush Threepwood," so it's little surprise that Guybrush would either die or "die" at some point

By the way, why is it called "season" anyway? I though Tales was ONE story consisting of 5 chapters (a fact that seemed to be stressed in interviews)... "season" implies it's a TV-show like thingy with loosely linked "episodes" (like Sam & Max). Why oh why?

I bet it's because you couldn't think of a title for a sequel, so now you can simply call it "Tales of Monkey Island - Season 2".

Don't take this post too seriously. :p

Happy to know the date but sad that it will end soon :( but not like it could go on forever.

I need some screenshots or concept art soon. My speculation machine is almost out of fuel.

I, Fury, after several weeks of forum silence, have returned. Why? Because of the release date announcement.

    HERE IS MY OPINION!

December 8th isn't that far away. I'm sure we can all wait a few more weeks and I mean come on, it is the finale. Telltale has probably already finished 90% of the chapter and could easily release it by the end of november, but look at episode 4. They added that cool tarot card effect in the last few days, and honestly the more content the better. I think that there's a limit to this, but we have a confirmed release date and the game will be better for it.

Even though it's not monthly, a game every 6 weeks is pretty kickass. In fact, it puts all other episodic games to shame (don't get me started on hl2...... so much waiting...).

So let us be patient! I for one, have a bunch of ps3 games I need to finish and my main computer is still being fixed atm, so I can't play MI anyway. So the delay is good!

    TELLTALE FOR THE WIN!

I'm so excited!! I was on TTG yesterday hoping to find some news but, sadly, found nothing. My friend called me today and woke me up to tell me that December 8th would be a happy day. Best reason to be woken up from a nap? I think so.

Couldn't have put it better. Not all babies are born after exactly 40 weeks of pregnancy, either. And no mother would say "Get it out NOW! I don't care if it's not ready!"

As for your guess about the "90 % ready": I'm not too sure about this. We've been whining repeatedly about every chapter being too short - so maybe they are really eager now to put extra puzzles and playtime into the finale?

awesome cant wait. we should have a minute silence on 30th of nov i will call this day 'no monkey island month day'

Do you guys think this might take place on Scabb Island?
I would love to go back there and see if the barkeeper found a new guy to cook?

I really hope it will be Scabb Island!!!
