It's very strange: the release on 8 December only, but the button "download" on "your games" page is enabled already. It leads to the error page, of course, but still! Good for early click-training.

I noticed this too, it even had my serial key listed, but the download link was broken. It's since changed back to "coming December 8th". I guess this was a mistake, but was anyone actually able to download it, or was it never actually online? :p

I'm guessing Telltale is just making sure everything is ready and are gearing up for an immediate release on the immediate time on our immediate 8th of December.

At least it made (some small amount of) sense when it was The Love Guru, but then you just went on some weird Mike Myers thing.

I don't know if you've ever played Ocarina of Time, but if not, educate yourself. I think naming myself after that guy ought to be embarrassment enough.

I love OoT. One of the few Zelda games I've ever beaten. I've never owned any, but not coz I never wanted to, simply rather coz I've never owned an appropriate console. :p

And you're right. It is getting to be a bit of a stretch. Though until you posted that image the other day I didn't know/get the reference. ;)

-makes like myself and tries desperately to avoid having to facepalm whilst describing to my mom what "facepalm" means due to the fact that everything she keeps saying keeps making me want to do it- (true story sadly)

    -facepalm-

"Mom...do me a favor. Go on Google Images and look up 'facepalm'."
    "What's 'facepalm'?"
    "It's what just happened."
"WHAT?!? What just happened to your face? Are you okay???"

    -facepalm, indeed-

Yeah, most people don't realize that his name is Guru-Guru because the only place it's ever been mentioned in-game was in the Bomber's Notebook in Majora's Mask. There was this whole thing in the disturbing fanart thread...where...you posted the Love Guru image...a month before you started making Mike Myers jokes about my name...wtf...

Oh, I see. My name had come up in two threads, and I was thinking of the other one. Basically, after I had pointed out the origin of my name, it was suggested that I make him my avatar to avoid confusion.

Woot just got my copy of Rise of the Pirate God a few hours ago, and I'm already stuck, and there's no walkthrough till the game's out, and I have a review to write.

You, sir, have just brought the wrath of this entire forum upon yourself.
  • edited December 2009
I knew that would happen. I just hope that one of the people here is also part of the press and also has the game to help me out!
  • edited December 2009
That's kind of a tricky situation. I guess you guys would have to meet in the forums and help/get help over PM, because even using the ToMI help forum, creating a separate thread only for the press to help each other out, and spoiler tagging it like crazy still might not be enough for you to discuss the game four days ahead of release.

You know, unless you want to feed the ToMI fanbase with massive spoilers and incur the wrath of Telltale. Most of us wouldn't mind that. :D
  • edited December 2009
We can't even do that. All members of the press are embargoed from speaking anything of the game until the morning of the game's release (in essence, a few hours before the game is released). Therefore, we have to make do with any contacts we have, check that they've received the game to start with, and then ask any questions.

Unfortunately, the review is to be released Tuesday, which means I have 3 and a half days left to playthrough the entire game, and write a 800-1000 word review on it.
  • edited December 2009
I know, I was only teasing. NDAs and press embargoes and all that sort of stuff sound terrifying. I wish you the best of luck.
