V3 is still my favourite in terms of continuity between all the games (MI1 being the SE version, that is).
Good point, that's half the reason that I like V3 so much. But I think that V5 also does that job nicely while also looking different from each of Guybrush's other models (in-game models).
Just for easy comparison, here's all five of them together:
Version 2 looks too silly, and version 3 looks too old. Version 4 looks nice, but it's not entirely Guybrush. Nor is version 5 for that matter. Version 1 looks nice, if they increase the size of his hands a bit.
Version 3 makes me want to vomit profusely and then seriously injure something. Version 4 looks like it's going in the right direction, but it would need some work. Version 5 is between those two: it works well enough and I don't feel physically ill looking at it.
Do you think Lucasarts is making a Poll to see which one ppl like and suddenly change Guybrush to that version!! ha ha ha
No, but they should have.
Also, with a few months still, they could do alterations to Guybrush (*is hopeful*).
I don't mind V3 looks older. LCR Guybrush does look older than CMI Guybrush, so I don't see why that *has* to be modified.
Yeah, V5 is basically the final MI2SE Guybrush. I do like it better than V3 and V4 honestly; V4 had ....odd.... hair, while V3's face looked too tired, and lacked that CMI quality of innocent openness.
I actually like V5 the most.
V4 is the worst.
Also I do not like the CMI one. While on its own it may look good, I'm quite sure it doesn't fit with the rest of the game with those proportions.
I like Versions 3 and 5 equally as much, I think they are both great, but I'd like to have 5 as the in-game version because it's different to all of Guybrush's models in the other MI games. Version 3 is very nice, but I think that it looks a little too much like the Curse Guybrush. Actually, I think I'd just like them to stick with the Guybrush that they had originally (in all of the screenshots we saw), because he's basically the same as Version 5, but he just looks a bit younger - better for the continuity (a word that has been typed far too much in this thread).
I don't like Version 1 because Guybrush's head is too round and his clothes are too baggy. Version 2... nyeaahhh, it's alright... but not good enough to be the in-game Guybrush (even if it was coloured and finalized). Version 4 I despise; Guybrush bears too much of a resemblance to the stereotypical crossdresser and/or lesbian. What makes me say that, you ask? Anumber of reasons - his hair looks like a girl's hairdo after it has gone a week without being brushed, his face looks slightly feminine but it has a beard stuck on it.
V2... what's with the pose? His feet are a yard apart and his arms are hanging down like a monkey.
V3 is well-drawn but kinda stiff and formal.
V4 looks completely amateurish to me. It doesn't even look like a quick scribble from someone who could do better, it just looks like the person couldn't draw, to be honest. I'm surprised they even posted that.
V5 does look good, but it's also a lot more finished than the others. I think an equally polished version of V1 could have competed with it.
I think he must be somewhere between The Secret of Monkey Island™ and The Curse of Monkey Island™. If he looks a lot older than he is in the third game it would be absurd. Although I admit they made Guybrush too young in the third game.
V5 is absolutely perfect. Considering how bizarre the MI2 Guybrush sprite is compared to his designs in the other games, it's the perfect compromise between making it authentic and making it consistent.
V1 and V2 look interesting - V2 seems though a little like a Manga Guybrush and V1 is actually the closest thing to the MI2 model of all of them but with a face as if Guybrush had just spent three nights drinking at The Bloody Lip
V4 and V5 sucks monkey ba.. because they are not "Monkey Island-ish" and "Guybrush-y" at all
V3 is the most interesting and the only contender imo to be speculated as a Guybrush model along with the V1. He seems like a MI3 meets MI2 and ToMI. I would like to see some mix of the V1 which is the most "Purcell-ish" with V3 which has MI3 comic-feel to it, but then we would be back somewhere at a Tales Guybrush

Here are V3 and V4 Guybrush with the REAL proper colors:
I've also gone back and put these new, better images into my original posts.
The eyes are a bit too glassie and pretty, but overall it looks good. Good beard.

If v5 is the one they went with, it looks much better here than it ended up looking in the game.

V4 would need a lot of work, but it has a good facial shape. V5 is the best though, overall.
Actually, when compared with the cover art, the belt buckle is now in the correct direction.

Edit: And I agree with Majus, his eyes are too glassy and "pretty." Of course Majus's eyes are always empty holes, so...

When does this come out!??
a Mod to play with V3 would be cool xD

Now, I really like the CoMI Guybrush design and I still found that funny.
