It's not as bad as you might think. There's a lot, but I just get 3-4 pages all set and blow through them rapid fire. It probably only took 15 minutes or so for each.

its less amount of words then if you described each object in detail.

VERY. But I'm going to be traveling on the 7th, so I'm not going to get to check it out until I get home a week and a half later. That's going to drive me insane.

You mean you don't get the game early? Dang.

Or an iPhone to play it on?!

I don't think I could play a game that has my voice, or watch a movie I'm starring in. It would be weird, I think.
I'm not sure why. I'm fine with picture of myself and stuff, but videos are always weird to look at and my voice sounds so different!

    Here.

    Here's the YouTube clip.

Cool! He looks kind of Jason-y. Much better. Lucasarts, you are so cool these days!

That's true, it must be strange to play one of your favorite games that just happens to have your voice as the main character.

Also for some reason reading Dom's posts reminded me of the early-mid 90's... *awesome flashback sequence*...

Dominic, we're all sincerely looking forward to having you and Earl Boen in all of our Monkey Island games in less than a month! It'll be so nice to have the series feel more complete this time around!

Speaking of the release date, was MI1SE released on July 7th last year? Or was it 15th or something?

Hey guys, I just registered at the forums here after lurking for several months and I just want to say I am TOTALLY psyched for this game! I've never played LeChuck's Revenge and after playing the first Special Edition and Tales I had to play the second one in the MI series. Luckily, I don't have to wait too long now :)
  • edited June 2010
you should have played in retro like all REAL fans.
  • edited June 2010
Well, you're gonna have a blast. Monkey Island 2 is the best game in the series, and adding voice by the original actors to the classic dialogue is only going to improve it!
    :)

I'm undecided about whether I'll play through this game in classic mode first or new and improved mode first. I want to see the new graphics, but at the same time I love the old graphics a lot. I'll probably just do what I did with SoMI and click the hotswap button for about 10 minutes whilst grinning insanely. That's a very entertaining button.

Hey, I've only recently gotten into the series. Growing up, I was always either playing Nintendo games or watching cartoons and anime. I hardly spent any time playing games on the computer until the last few years or so due to college.

Anyways, I'll make sure to play the game in both improved and retro, just like the other one.

I bet I will, seeing how much the other games made me laugh and think outside of the box.

    Aaand...we've hit 100 pages!
Is this true that this is the longest thread on the entire Telltale forum?
And it's not even for a Telltale Game?
    Hmmm......

But that's a game rather than a discussion, so does it still count?

Im first going to play SoMI:SE then Play new MI2:LR-SE with new graphics first all the way through, then play it again in retro and enjoy the beautiful scenes which got me hook into the series into the first place, and then play it again with the commentary.....but i guess when i start the game off ill probably flick back and fourth to see the comparison

hmm i wonder if they will still have the mix mojo reciepe at the starting, just for kicks, i doubt they will have the diffculty option at the start....this is my favourite game of all time in the series and its the one that introduced me to the series and made me a weird kid growning up.....i cant wait to play this

Has there been any mention about if it will have both difficulties?

Surely if its just got one version it will be the full version.

Well, the CD version skipped the difficulty choice. There are a few cool moments in lite (such as escaping from LeChuck's fortress) but nothing I'd sorely miss. With the hint system I doubt they'd bother to include it, too much more work in terms of voice recording/testing for too little gain.

What's different between regular and lite there?

That is indeed what happens, though you don't actually see it; it's implied in dialogue.

Obviously, he should play them in order, so save Curse for after he's done with MI2, then Escape then Tales, unless he's already played that - which is likely since he's here.

There's definitely longer. Like the Fanart thread.

I all ready have. I didn't want to play Escape because I heard it was the weakest in the series so I just watched a walkthrough instead and I had trouble finding the original LeChuck's Revenge be after hearing about the SE for it, I didn't need to :P

The first two chapters are pretty good, actually. Not as good as the other 4 Monkey Island games, but still pretty good. It only gets bad when Guybrush lands on Monkey Island.

Play the game. It's pretty good, except for a couple of really bad decisions they took at the end.
The monkey head is a robot? Herman Toothrot is H.T. Marley? They must have been high when they wrote these parts!
I didn't really think Monkey Kombat was that bad, I just had the patience to write everything down. Overall, it's a good game and you should play it.

EMI is best, strongest in the series. Most funny jokes, most beautiful art, coolest puzzles, most interesting storyline.
