I have to admit, I'm not big into art. Sure, I can look at a beautiful painting, scultupre, photograph or what-have-you and find beauty and/or meaning in it, but I'm not at all interested in myself personally analyzing what an artist was trying to convey through some particular form of brush strokes. With regard to such artistic minutia, my first thoughts are along the lines of "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

I can understand that. I think of it like a hobby.
Honestly, when I look at a particular stand alone art piece four things, in this order, comes to mind: What am I looking at? How do I feel? Why does it make me feel like this? What can I learn from this?
A couple years ago every first thursday of the month, I'd go out to downtown Portland and do an art crawl, so to speak. at all the galleries that open on that special day. I really ought to start doing that again.
I always love these situations where some kind of art critic (amateur or not) is monologueing about symbolism, hidden meanings, philosophies, how it reflects some kind of sociological thing, or how it portrays existentialism or whatever, and then the artist says something like, "Dude, it's just a picture of a rabbit."
Well, to be fair, this is how this thread started in the first place.
Plus, we stayed on topic!
Is that really all that impressive when this discussion itself was made because it veered so far off-topic in another thread that it deserved to not only be split off from the main thread, but also moved to an entirely different subforum?

Blatant discriminations are often sheer acts of ignoranceness or obliviousness (can't decide which; nor if that's really an excuse).
I didn't know you could change the number of posts per page. But I don't like it to be that many, anyway; scrolling down too long makes me feel like falling into a bottomless pit.
Which makes me wonder, where's the "Bottoms: an artistic discussion" thread hiding?

I just click the "first unread post" thing.
We can go off-topic so fast, I like being able to scroll back and have some idea what just happened without needing to change pages
I have a Chrome extension that loads the next page beneath the one I'm reading as soon as I get to the bottom of the page I'm on. It ends up being one long super-page.

I think I have the one you're talking about, but it doesn't load the next forum page, it loads the next thread. Maybe I need to tweak some settings.
No, he was asking if he could feel "like" to test its authenticity. I faced a scandal in the news recently suggesting that every instance of the word "like" I typed was fake... IT WAS ONE TIME

I call poetic license.
When it comes to character design, the Larry series has some great artwork, for sure.

Edit: Happy 20th page, thread!
I enjoyed it immensely.
CURSES! -flees out the window-
This post is blatant discrimination against those of us who have 50 posts per page (or, really, any number other than 20).
