You're the entire mod team now.

Not yet... but I think we've lost Silverwolfpet, who hasn't shown his face for a full 14 days now. I blame Ubisoft.
why bother with a PS4 when you can just build an equivalent PC for a similar price
    http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/02/21/pc-gamer-vs-playstation-4-theres-only-ever-going-to-be-one-winner-right/

It IS weird. After all, the PS4 is PC architecture - and of course we take a very close look at the system's inside as we still don't yet know what its outside actually looks like (Apple must be laughing their butts off).

Have you ever seen the "crap hardware" that is in a 360 or PS3 and wondered why games that run on those consoles simply do not run on a PC with the same specs?

"Wondered", no. The main problem is that AAA games are usually programmed on and for console, then they get badly ported for PC. The true gaming potential of present PC hardware will only become apparent...

    ...with the PS4. Le sigh.

My heat keeps breaking down. I've been filling bottles with hot water and refilling them every 3-4 hours just to keep from freezing. I have to sleep with my head under the covers and get up to refill the bottles several times a night.

The landlord says he thinks it's fixed for good now, but... I'm not sure I believe him.

All the best for your heating... winter feels unusually long here in Germany this year. Global warming will make sure it'll lose those teeth eventually. But it's more of a nuisance than anything else, as I've got exceptional resistance against the cold (while heat is my kryptonite...).

well that article was more a vague comparison than an actually saying it was the same, but you could build a PC that could do what the PS4 does for a similar price and save money on games and have a larger selection of games.

also you can compare the specs if you go into detail about the specs not just the superficial labels like "8 gig of ram" there is more to it than that if you look into it, and obviously on a fixed machine you can optimise better so you could get better performance from comparable hardware from a console, but i really hate the myth that you have to spend thousands to be able to play games on a PC, you can spend thousands if you want, but for most games (especially because of console bias developement) you can play them on full settings with an affordable PC

Do you think the average consumer wants to build their PC?
  • edited February 2013
The average consumer also doesn't care about the PS4 announcement, most of it's features, nor the specs included. They will just care about the games when they come out.

As has been with every console, always. ;)

I think this "share" button lies somewhere in the bizarre to bad idea department. Let's be honest, what will most of the online community use it for? Oh you know it, glitches and other fuck ups. Great advertisement for the initial compete. They better beat Xbox to it's release.

It's weird that they don't allow the sale of Kinder Surprise in the United States because of a ban on non-edible items being in confections, but they allow the sale of King Cakes that have little plastic babies hidden inside of them.

I thought the same thing, but King Cakes are Made In The U.S.A. (tm), so not subject to importation laws. Or they could be illegal, but nobody bothers to enforce it, as there's not just one big company they could go after.

Banning confections that aren't entirely edible would have some interesting side effects, just as banning wedding cakes with a bride and groom on the top, unless the bride and groom were made edible. Now that would be interesting.

well that is a good reason to get a PC because there are only a few games that are exclusive to playstation whereas there are loads of games that are only for PC and loads more to choose from overall, and a few games defiantly isn't worth the purchase of an expensive console

I bought the PS3 solely for Metal Gear Solid 4. If Metal Gear Solid is a PS4 exclusive il need to buy one for it again.

that is just sooo against my nature to spend so much money just for 1 game, i need value for money even for luxury items, the idea of buying a console just for one game seems crazy to me, i really wanted to have little big planet and uncharted but i wasn't gonna buy another console just for them, and i wanted scribblenauts but i didn't want to buy a DS just for that (luckily it is on pc now) that is why i like the pc it is the best value entertainment system there is, especially considering most people want some kind of PC anyway.

The only reason I've used a PS3 is because my friend got one free with a mobile phone contract upgrade and as he lives here I get to use it as much as I want. And what we mainly use it for is watching Blu Ray films and streaming my TV library from my PC. Only actually own three games - Metal Gear Solid 4 (played only for a couple of hours), Gran Turismo 5 (played a lot when first got it but haven't touch it for ages) and Little Big Planet (good for short distractions). These three games are pretty much what I wanted the console for but would never have bought it just for them and if my friend hadn't got it for free then we wouldn't have one.

I used to do most of my gaming on the 360 since I got it 5 years or so ago but at least for the last year I've rarely used it compared to PC gaming. Right now I have little to no interest in getting a new console, especially when I don't have that kind of money to spare. But I imagine if I did have a good amount of disposable income I'd look to a new console, but my first instinct would be to whatever Microsoft bring, and that is as a fairly recent convert (loved PlayStation 1 & 2 and hated the original Xbox - the 360 converted me).

Console exclusivity in games is just annoying as there is no one system on which you can play every game. Even two will miss some out. And I don't like some of the things that are being talked about, like the lack of (or at least limited) backwards compatibility and the whole pre-owned games issue. Nor do I care about increased social functions, but then I don't like multiplayer games either really.

I think I've rambled on enough for now, not sure what points I'm trying to make. Just speaking/typing my mind.

I saw the first cutscene. Is there ANY notable gameplay in this title. I might have blinked and missed it.

Would the world explode if every nuke on Earth explodes at the same time?
  • edited February 2013
No. The land, water and atmosphere would just be irradiated and incapable of supporting life for tens of thousands of years.

The planet itself is too large to completely crumble or break up from the force, though, considering the thickness of the crust alone.
  • edited February 2013
It could be able to influence the planetary rotation considering that the deployment of nuclear weapons seems to be rather irregular and limited to the northern hemisphere.

You know I think I might skip half a generation this time guys.
I mean in hindsight, I probably have about 3-4 years worth of games I haven't played and I should catch up on them.

(Well... after I EVENTUALLY finish Ni No Kuni. (30 hours in and still no sign of it ending, now thats what I call awesome! :D))

Yesterday I told a guy I have a crush on him. It was the bravest I've ever been.

He Shot me down, but he made me laugh while doing so. I actually had to ask him to stop being witty.

Even if the results didn't turn out the way you would have liked, it must feel good to get that off your chest. Everything'll be okay.

    Hohohooooonooo.

Rammstein was never this good. Heino's Sonne cover is actually bearable, which the original wasn't. AND the artist beats Rammstein at their most internationally registered peculiarity, the rolled 'r'.

    Good one, old man.

Love the Ärzte. The "Junge" original (careful, zombie gore) is oozing with irony, but Heino sings this as if he meant it ... which in my opinon strengthens the piece.

Completely disagree on that one. In every point.

You have a point there but that still doesn't make the cheap music Heino uses any more bearable.
