I usually hate these bundles and everything they stand for but if you don't own AaaaAAAaaaaH! you're dead to me.
  • edited March 2013
Already have AaaaAAAaaaaH!, and I don't dislike the game, it's just that I suck at the game.
  • edited March 2013
Sod it, Da New Guys is enough to sway me (and no, The Shivah wasn't, because I already own that).

    It's been unlocked! :D

What's also cool is that Wadjet Eye Games is looking into porting all their titles to Linux now that AGS is open source and have Mac and Linux forks. They started with Gemini Rue and started beta testing in late January I think.

Indie games are looking to get a strong presence on the Steam Box with WEG, Double Fine and a lot of other smaller developers targeting Linux directly now.

    Question.

Would that mean that they could also run on the Ouya? Or am I getting my ideas mixed up again?

    Yes.

Cool. Thanks. Reason #17 to get one then.

    Yeah.
    Da New Guys

    Bundle bought. :D

    Answer.

    Yes.

Are you sure about that? The Ouya is an Android device running on ARM architechture whereas Steam for Linux targets Linux desktop OSes running on x86 architecture. It's true that Android is Linux based, but in this regard Linux is more similar to Windows and OSX than it is to Android.

I won't claim to be an expert on Ouyas though as I've only heard mentions of it before without any real interest in it, but I just read this breakdown of the current alternative console marked. It seems to me that the Ouya is little more than your regular Android phone, only with HDMI output and controller support.

He shouldn't be. You're right, the Ouya is an Android device roughly as powerful as an android tablet from a couple years ago. Android games will run on the device, though how/if it handles side-loaded apks is a question that I'm not sure has been answered.

If you bought the Saint Patricks Day Bundle on indie Royals last year you will get a Steam Key for DLC Quest soon.
  • edited March 2013
Sweet. That saves me a whole £1.59.

...still feel like buying it anyway.

Hey, remember we've got an entire goodwill thread hiding around here somewhere...

Actually, he SHOULD be, because there's already an Android port in the works, and Dave Gilbert did say he wanted to get it out on both the Android as well as iOS as soon as he can.

Oh yeah, and an iOS port of AGS is also in the works.

There's also an AGS engine for ScummVM in the works, which would make them run on practically anything.

I did that. Because I wanted it NOW! I need my DLC fix.

Humble Indie Bundle is going in a different direction now, offering weekly pay-what-you-want deals for one game at a time. This week is Bastion.
  • edited March 2013
The 25$ tier is really good. I paid that for the Soundtrack + shipping alone.
  • edited March 2013
Certainly interesting. Wonder what'll be next, and whether they'll offer similar physical perks.
  • edited March 2013
    That is interesting.

I'm on the fence with this so far.
  • edited March 2013
Oh good, I was buying entirely too many indie bundles already. This will totally help me curb my purchasing, because fuck that. I already receive e-mail alerts from IndieGameStand and ignore every single one of them.

New Bundle: the Indie Gala Dwarves bundle. Contains:

    - SRS: Street Racing Syndicate
    - A Game Of Dwarves (Steam)
    - Gettysburg: Armored Warfare (Steam)
    - Warlock: Master Of The Arcane (Steam)
...and two unlocks that we don't find out about until next week.

Oh, of all the poor timing...

Here's Build a Bundle 5. You can choose from the following:

    - Dawning (Desura/DRM Free, Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Dawnstar (Desura/DRM Free, Win/Mac)
    - Lume (Steam/DRM Free, Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Manhunter (Desura/DRM Free, Win)
    - Marvin's Mittens (Desura/DRM Free, Win)
    - Nethergate: Resurrection (Steam/DRM Free, Win/Mac)
    - Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey and Abe's Exoddus (Steam/DRM Free, Win)
    - Spellforce: Platinum Edition (Steam, Win)
    - Storm in a Teacup (Steam/DRM Free, Win/Mac)

The first Bonus, already unlocked, is a few sampler albums (because people really want those). Second Bonus is Millennium 2. Not the first one, the second. They really just have no idea, do they?

EDIT: Bonus 2's been achieved, Bonus 3 is another album. Woop-de-doo.

SO, about that Indie Gala Dwarves bundle... one of the unlocks is Europa Universalis III collection.

Still waiting on the other one.
  • edited March 2013
I've gotten dangerously addicted to Warlock - Master of the Arcane. Not perfect or as fully-featured as you might want, but well worth beating the average for.
  • edited March 2013
Why the hell did no-one tell me about Bundle in a Box?

(Note: when I say Win, that means a DRM-Free download for Windows as well as any other service like Steam)

    - Dédale De Luxe (Desura, Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Dinner Date (Steam, Win)
    - Necrotic Drift Deluxe (Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Phantasmaburbia (Desura, Win)
    - Vampires! (Win/Mac)

Beat the average ($5.88 at time or writing) and get:

    - Cognition: Episode I: The Hangman (Desura, Win/Mac)
    - I Get This Call Every Day (Desura, Win/Mac)
    - J.UL.I.A. (Win)
    - Reversion: The Meeting (Desura, Win)

And there's OSTs and stuff too. Well worth the cash!

Oops, I meant to post about that here when I posted about that on my blog. But the Telltale site was undergoing maintenance at the time and then I forgot. :o

But, yeah. Everyone pick it up if you don't have the games already. Lots of good stuff! :D

I trusted you! YOU ARE TEARING ME APART, JENNY! You betrayed me, you didn't keep your promise, you tricked me, and I don't care anymore. Everybody betray me! I fed up with this world!

HIB's got two new deals for you this week. The Humble Mobile Bundle (which is Android exclusive so why didn't they just call it that?) comes with Contre Jour, Anomaly Korea, Plants vs. Zombies and Bladeslinger, with Metal Slug 3 and The Room as BTA awards. Please note that these are all Android, and are not available as Steam downloads or DRM free downloads. And for their weekly sale, it's THQ time again! Darksiders and Red Faction Armageddon, with Darksiders 2 and Red Faction Guerilla as BTA awards. Please note that these are all Steam, and are not available as DRM free downloads. I get the feeling a certain mod isn't going to be happy.

Here's the links for the lazy - Humble MobileAndroid Bundle and the Humble Weekly Bundle.

Also now live is the latest Indie Royale bundle - The Mighty Bundle. Here's what's in it:

    - Avadon: The Black Fortress (Desura/Steam, Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Derrick the Deathfin (Desura, Win/Mac)
    - Tidalis (Desura/Steam, Win/Mac)
    - War of the Human Tanks (Desura, Win)
    - Waveform (Desura/Steam , Win/Mac/Linux)
    - Zafehouse: Diaries (Desura, Win)

There's also a couple of other interesting bundles floating around that I don't think I've seen mentioned here, so I'll do a quick round-up of them, just for the hell of it.

First, the Indie Mash-Up bundle. If you pay the minimum you get:

    - Jazz: Trumps Journey (DRM-Free, Win/Mac)
    - StarDrone + OST (Desura/DRM-Free, Win)

...beat the average and also get:

    - Chrome (Steam, Win)
    - Crash Time 2 (Steam, Win)
    - Still Life (Steam, Win)
    - Still Life 2 (Steam, Win)
    - Syberia (Steam, Win)
    - Syberia 2 (Steam, Win)
    - Tank Universal (Steam, Win)
    - Vigil: Blood Bitterness (Steam, Win)

The team's previous bundle, Fire and Ice, is still up for a few days as well. I think that one's already been mentioned, but just in case, here's what's in that one:

    Minimum
    - Airport Control Simulator (Desura, Win)
    - Tiny Troopers (Steam, Win/Mac)

    Beat the Average
    - Adam's Venture I, II & III (Steam, Win)
    - Armada 2526 (Desura, Win)
    - Darkness Within I & II (Desura, Win)
    - Firefighter (Desura, Win)
    - Society of the Serpent Moon (Desura, Win)

Finally, I've also discovered another site that does bundles. This one's called IndieBundle.org, and it works by just grouping together three games for $5, one a day, with each pack live for a week. here's what they've got live right now:

Perceptive Puzzle Bundle - Terraform, Plith and Vizatt (all 3 Desura, Win)
Neon SHMUP Bundle (they mis-spelt the URL!) - Clean 'em Up, Koya Rift and P-3 Biotic (all 3 Desura, Win)
Delightful Point & Click Bundle - Metal Dead, Shadows on the Vatican and The Journey Down (first two Desura, Mac, The Journey Down Steam/Desura, Win/Mac/Linux)
Summer Sun Chiptune - a couple of albums and the OST for the forthcoming 'The 9th Wizard: Rings of Eternity'
Retro Platformer Bundle - Crystal Towers 2, Oiken and Three Dead Zed (All on Desura with Steam keys guaranteed if they get Greenlit, Crystal Towers 2 is Win only, others are Win/Mac/Linux)
Full Steam Ahead Bundle - Mayhem Intergalactic, Metal Drift and The Journey Down (first two Desura, Mac, The Journey Down Steam/Desura, Win/Mac/Linux)

...and then they introduced Bundle+, where for $7 you get a fourth game. I'll italicize that one.

Eat My Dust Racing Bundle - Headlong Racing, Metal Drift (Steam, Win), Little Racers STREET and Monsters Mini Extreme Off-Road (all Desura, Win with LRS also being DRM Free and Steam keys for LRS and MMEOR if Greenlit)

Point & Click DARK Bundle - Castle Dracula, Cognition: Episode I, Reversion: The Meeting and The Journey Down again (all Desura, Win and on Steam Greenlight with Cognition also being DRM Free and on Mac, and The Journey Down on bloody everything)

...christ. Another thread to keep updating. Sheesh! :p
  • edited March 2013
    The Room was pretty fun.

Sadly I just beat it though... :'(
  • edited March 2013
God dammit! I just found another one. Someone stop me. PLEASE.

This one's the Name Your Own Price Indie Gamer Bundle, and it contains:

    - Aztaka
    - Blades of Time
    - Cubemen
    - iBomber Defense
    - SpaceChem
    - The Journey Down: Chapter I

All PC/Mac, and all DRM-Free and on Steam except Dlades of Time, which is Steam only.

Get all 6 if you beat the average (currently $3.73). Not what sure what happens if you pay lower than that - or of you even CAN go lower than that. It doesn't appear to be the best run bundle in the world.
  • edited March 2013
It's mentioned below. Pay-what-you-want is for iBomber, Aztaka and Journey Down. Beat the average to also get Blades of Time, SpaceChem and Cubemen.
  • edited March 2013
Oh yeah. Still, bit of a dig to find that out, isn't it.

Get the Journey Down for that price, that's all I can say.

The latest (last?) unlockable game in the Indie Gala Dwarves Bundle is Warlock - Master of the Arcane.

And I guess the IndieBundle.org thing doesn't update once a day. How very confusing.

No. That was in before. New is Defenders of Ardania.

    ...oops.

Guess I'll be unleashing the tiger on myself instead of any picture-happy posters. *sigh* I'll get the meat sauce.
