    Towns: Dwarf Fortress with Stonesense
3079: Ace of Spades with less terrain destruction
Wyv and Keep: Not even close to Minecraft

    Then you're a moron.

Towns is a city building and management game mixed with an RPG that draws inspiration from titles spanning Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Majesty.

3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game, and an alleged lovechild of Minecraft and Fallout.

Wyv and Keep: the Temple of the Lost Idol is a lusciously pixelated 2D co-op puzzle platformer dubbed as a more fiendish version of Blizzard's classic The Lost Vikings.

Of the three, only one could be considered a rip-off of Minecraft, and it's clearly more like Borderlands than anything else. Do some research before instantly dismissing three interesting looking games.

EDIT: Ninja'd. But hey, at least my post time is cooler than Garys.

So no evidence at all then? Got it.
EDIT:Ok after checking the games out, how did you think they were minecraft clones even at first glance? 7 seconds of gameplay from towns and it clearly isn't even remotely similar to minecraft. You had to have done 0 research on that game.
EDIT2:17 seconds in and WYV and Keep to see a that there is ZERO similarities to Minecraft. Its an F-ing 2d platformer from what I see.
EDIT3:3079 I do get though, but only because it has the same graphic style.
  • edited February 2012
So far, and I haven't played Wyv and Keep yet, but so far, I like the games.

Now Towns still is a work in progress, obvious by the fact that a lot of resources you can gather aren't used in full yet, but it's a nice game.

1.number 3 and the box of town made it look like it by its block style, and i then thought it was a mix of farmville and minecraft, and i was doing impressions on boxes
2.i did not mean to say that all are similar, just most of them
3.i thought 3079 also because the box are remind my of the icon for minecraft
  • edited February 2012
I click on the box-art for Wyv and Keep, and then play the video trailer.

Doesn't look like Minecraft at all.

so you looked at the box art, noticed blocks, and immediatly thought "minecraft clone" Way to judge a game by box art and kind of the art style.

    Yup :/
The next Indie Royale is in 2 weeks.
Too bad the Humble Bundle doesn't say when they're upcoming bundles will be released.

Coming Soon: A kick to the face.

Also: If the Be Mine Bundle reaches $75,000, PAM is unlocked for everyone.
  • edited February 2012
Worth noting that if you did get the Be Mine bundle, then the $50k bonus (a half dozen albums) has been unlocked.
  • edited February 2012
Damn I miss The Lost Vikings.
  • edited February 2012
I'll bite on that Be Mine bundle.

(For the OSTs mostly. Gotta get me more music!)
  • edited March 2012
The Be Mine bundle has now unlocked either PAM or the aquarium screensaver (the two goal #3 bonuses) for everyone who purchased before or purchases now. (If you read the comments apparently this hasn't happened for everyone yet, but I assume it will.)

Also worth keeping an eye on: the Bundle in a Box.
For now, let us only say that the games will indeed be (strongly) thematically linked as promised and that there will actually be seven of them. Yes, seven. One of them will belong to a genre that has never before been included in any sort of gaming (indie or not) bundle and another one will be launched exclusively through the bundle itself, as we do believe in directly supporting and promoting talented indie developers.

Apparently you get randomly given one or the other, which is bollocks, because I do not want the Aquarium screensaver. I'd never use it, for one thing.

Would it really have been so hard to let us choose which one we wanted? Gah.

Also, new page, new Be Mine link.

But you'd never play the game either. So it doesn't matter (I got the game btw.)
But I have no hope for it. It looks like D.I.P.R.I.P.. That one's a Source mod no one plays. I have no hopes that a game you have to buy with the same style has more players (even though D.I.P.R.I.P. is awesome!)

Postal (the first one) has been added to Indiegala 2 (PC, MAC & Linux version) no Steam key though.
  • edited March 2012
The only Postal game out on Steam is the third one. Arguably the worst.

    Also, Indie Gala link.
  • edited March 2012
Since the bundle is over we don't really need the link. All you need is the link for your profile.
  • edited March 2012
The Indie Gala's over? Doesn't say it on the page.
  • edited March 2012
you are right. I thought it was over for a long time by now. Seems they still have a lot of bundles left though.

They don't seem to be able to get rid of them no matter what they try (I mean, really, 4 for the price of 1 gifts?)... Shame though, because the many problems they had and have it's not a bad bundle...

Indie Royale's St. Patrick's Day Bundle is up for semi-blind pre-order:
The Bundle is headlined by an explosive FPS with a future-leaning setting, available on Windows as a Steam key, Desura key and DRM-free download. Next up the flagpole is a jaunty Windows and Mac adventure game, available on Steam, DRM-free, and on Desura, arrr. Also featured - a brainy Steam-enabled Windows and Mac title 'dispensing' RTS action. Rounding out the bundle is an Indie Royale exclusive Windows/Mac debut (DRM-free and Desura) for an acclaimed satirical platformer, plus a bonus DRM-free Windows RPG overhead shooter from the same creator.

Those who pre-order the St. Patrick's Day Bundle receive a retro bonus: the NES-inspired 15-track album O.S.T from Daniel Capo, available in FLAC and MP3 file formats. Those who pay over the minimum while the bundle is live will also receive the bonus.

Well, I'm broke, so I won't be able to buy the Indie Gala for any of my friends.
  • edited March 2012
Don't normally pre-order bundles without knowing what exactly they are, but this sounds... intriguing.

Oh wait, I just spend a fortune on other games. Never mind. Guess I'll have to wait!
  • edited March 2012
Preorder'd. And I could've sworn that I passed on IndieRoyale's Alpha bundle, but apparently I was mistaken, seeing as I just found a key for it in my bundle key bookmark folder.

Jolly Rover is a good game. Well worth the purchase all by itself.

Ooh, nice looking games. :) I put $5 on this, as it's themed after my birthday, so I figure it's a good birthday present to myself. :D
