cool it with the insults, Don't ask about the games release date, thats just silly.
  • edited May 2012
Yes, the second episode is currently being worked on. As are the later ones; that is the whole point of episodic development. But I'm really curious to see where the community stands on when they think the release date of the second episode is!

I would love to take part in this poll but I can't it only goes up to June 6th :(

I'm glad Tigerfish20 was banned tbh, he did chat a fair bit of bollocks.

Randomly, based on the information in his posts and his username, I found him on Twitter, 2 pictures of his kids, defo not 14 and 17 though, more like 7 and 10...... not really TWD demographic.

Why not just admit the game is for him and he didn't like waiting.....?

Now now, you got your way little one. Just give it a rest okay. He is gone. No more big bad man to upset you.

im a huge fan of the whole walking dead and i absolutely loved the first episode of the game. I constantly talk about the game and the series with friends and family and i find the waiting to be intense and fun.. no need to rush them and talk garbage because you're impatient . Perfection takes time.. The first part was amazing in my opinion and im hoping the second part or episode is just as good or even better.

    LOVE THE WALKING DEAD!

They haven't finished the game because they are using our decisions that we make in game to make the story more appealing to our decisions.. relax folks! wait wait! all the waiting will be worth it!

    THE WALKING DEAD!

I just wish they had spent more time making the game instead of making that 3 episode "talk show". Come to think of it. That lil infomercial probaly came out on time. lol
  • edited May 2012
I spend one afternoon on minecraft and miss all the fun!

What's with the long wait? This game is advertised as a monthly episode release, yet it seems that promise has already been broken. Can we please have an official statement from Telltale, for us your customers so we know what's going on. I don't think that's too much to ask.

..you haven't been here long, have you? It's going to come out in June.

We're all tired of waiting and eager to consume the next Walking Dead episode. Keep reminding yourselves that all the time you're not playing right now is time spent perfecting the product and ironing out bugs. There's no need for theatrics, no need for threats or quoting of consumer rights. TellTale aren't making their escape up the coast after blowing all your money on a luxury yacht. You'll get your game, just hold on a little bit longer.

This goes out to pretty much anyone who has to do with The Walking Dead Game... How can you tell people that new episodes will be released monthly, have people buy the season passes expecting a new episode every month, and then not bring out an episode each month after people already purchased it? Doesn't really seem fair and straight up sneaky to me. I understand your trying to make the best game possible, but maybe if you spent a little more time on the game instead of interviews and whatever else no one cares about the next episode could have been released this month. You should at least give the people who bought the season already a little bonus and an apology for this.

Hmm, I think episodic games are meant to be late, I mean look at Half Life ep 3. I understand people's frustration I mean I'm really eagerer to sink my teeth in to ep 2 however I think that a notification on steam would had been nice, I mean I didn't know what was happening until I had a look around.

However I think it's a bad image for TTG when then ban people for excessive complaining, people who paid in advance for a game. I mean it's natural like when investors invest into shares they expect dividends each quarter and an explanation when there isn't.

PS: Thanks TTG guys for being active on forums.

I like many others would like a response on when and why this has been delayed? From a customer stand point, I won't be buying another entire package like I did w/ this game again, matter of fact, it discourages me from buying more Telltale Games in the future.

w/ that said, game is a lot of fun, so much that it makes us all impatient waiting for the next ;)
  • edited May 2012
And then, if they didn't do any interviews or communicate, you would be complaining about that instead lol

I agree tho, should definitely have the game out by now. Maybe they had some bugs in it that would have made us wait several days anyway like Ep1 had. As long as they release Ep 3 by the end of June it will more than make up for it
  • edited May 2012
When i bought the game i didn't buy it for the interviews or anything else other than actually playing the game, so instead of complaining i should be playing it haha. With them releasing this episode late, would only lead me to believe all the episodes will be pushed back.
  • edited May 2012
pretty much kind of annoyin i can give them a a break this once but if it becomes trend for the whole series it will be the last one i pay for from tt till their whole series is ready this feels like a tease and its pretty annoying love their games though lol feels like they got my money haha so they can make me wait all they want :p
  • edited May 2012
I think Ep4 will definitely be delayed. Especially since they haven't even announced the winners of the contest yet, and they'll surely run into issues implementing that. Just be prepared lol I'm gonna get Walking Dead Issue 98 in a bit and read that while I wait, then possibly get Max Payne 3 for PC(27GB!!!! Largest game ever)

i want to say ty to ttg for a good game and plz take your time on the next ep. iv played alot of games and i dont what another game full of bugs and just bad all the way around.yall have done a good job so far just keep up the good work.

p.s ill wait for a year for a good game.plz dont rush it
  • edited May 2012
Max Payne 3 is a good game, it feels really different from the current 3rd persons out there, hope u enjoy it :)
  • edited May 2012
Look, I understand that everyone wants a game with no bugs and lots of time and effort put into it. But I also understand that TTG could have done all of this well before the initial release of Episode 1. I have been patient enough here. We were all promised an episode every month! Yeah, it's a cool game. Way short, way easier than it should be, and also LATE! TTG, at this rate I do not think I will be giving you anymore money after this game. That's too bad, like I said, I enjoy this game. :(
  • edited May 2012
Okay first off I love the game so far, it is definately one of the most unique games I have played recently; and the fact that it is in The Walking Dead universe makes it even better.
However this has gotten pretty ridiculous now. To promise each episode on a monthly basis is frustrating enough, but to not deliver on that will lose you a lot of fans for the future. If the game wasn't anywhere near finished when episode 1 was released (which is pretty obvious), why promise on release times when you know there's a possibility you won't be able to meet them?
I appreciate that games take a lot of work, however you had promised monthly episodes to the people who bought your game; and I just feel it is pretty disrespectful and unprofessional to not even give any information on what the hold up is or when a realistic release date will be, even if it were to be in another month from now.
Keep up the good work on the game though, no point in rushing now is there.

Alright. I'll give Telltale a break... I'm guessing Episode 2 will be released in June... of 2013. I at least agree with whoever said Telltale shouldn't go promising things they can't deliver. At least I can read TWD issue #98 on time...
  • edited May 2012
I would be more forgiving of this if Telltale would actually acknowledge that they lied to their customers. I want a refund.
  • edited May 2012
    Some things to think about:
    1. Was Telltales lying to us?
Telltales did not lie about the release dates. You can only lie, if you are are not telling the truth.
All they did was communicating their release plans. Obviously they did not know back then, that they'll miss the second release date.

    2. Do I have to wait longer?
It really does not matter when the second episode will be released. This game consists of 5 episodes so until you know better, the total waiting time is always the same.

    as for half life ep3

it's been canned in favour of half life 3 and gaben won't be at e3

but you can bet they'll be doing a portal 3 and l4d3 even tf3 then we get hl3 for 2020

    /sarcasm

I'm actually not here to complain lol. Was just looking to see if there was a release date posted yet. obviously there hasn't been looking at all of these complaint's lol.

To everyone complaining i have noticed that if you are going to complain you should complain to the company you bought the game from. That way they can offer you something for your inconvenience. Which i will be doing to playstation store. As long as your not being disrespectful they seem to always work with me on trying to make me satisfied with what they are selling.

Plus i have also noticed that noone puts more pressure on companys like TTG then the actual gaming systems you are playing the games on. So its pretty much pointless to complain here when the're already getting an ear full from them. Just my oppinion

I think everyone who is defending Telltale is missing the point. It isn't about the delay to work on things. It's the complete turn of the head to what is going on. A lot of people are not gamers and probably bought TWD because they are a huge fan. Everyone, gamers and non-gamers, just want some peace of mind.

It seems to me that Telltale got excited about their game and may have released the episode a bit to early. And it's hurting their reputation. So, I'm sure it is difficult for them as well.

But, I do not think the cries of the masses should be ignored. If they released a public announcement, giving their deepest apologies to getting peoples hopes up and noting they are just trying to make this episode better than the last. I'm pretty certain a lot of people would calm down.

They can't have a blind eye and expect people to not get offended by that.
  • edited May 2012
@SrslyYo?: Do you even know where you could find such an apology? Did you look there?
People are just too stupid, even if Telltale would post an excuse, they would ignore it or not see it and continue ranting.
BTW: I don't try to defend Telltale. Obviously they messed it up, but it really does not matter at all.
  • edited May 2012
I'm not sure that Telltale should really care about our anger. I can't wait for Episode 2 but I still want it to be the best it can be. Hopefully out next week as I have the week off work to play and blog.
  • edited May 2012
I don't know why people are complaining about the complainers. Its false advertisement plain and simple. They advertised a game, that had episodes to be released monthly. When they didn't release the episode within a month, they broke a contract if you think about it.
  • edited May 2012
I like many others am not happy with TT, but like many people have said it's really just because of the lack of info they are leaving us on their own site. I want the game to be the best it can be and if they need longer to do so that is fine with me, however they can't expect to just duck around the issue and think people wont complain about this. But on a more positive note the first episode was great and I am a fan of the comics and the show so I am very happy with the game as well and I hope the future episodes wont spark such an outrage from everyone. Hopefully this is a learning experience for everyone including the TT team.

As Topic says, where the hack is ep2?
It isn't released yet, although it was promised to be done monthly.

If there is a delay, it's not a big thing - except it's like "Duke Nukem" or HL2 EP3 - but why can't you inform the community?

What's your www. for? Posting old messages? NO messages?

Otherwise you did a great job on ep1, it's very entertaining, cannot looking forward to ep2 :)

Find such apology? Ever heard of Facebook and Twitter? The only thing they have posted on their Facebook recently is a Quiz. Nothing more. These are their advertisement sites. It would only be logical to put it there.

I would really watch about calling people stupid.

Hello world, new member here. I can tell by looking at past posts that people seem to be upset about release dates. Truth be told I would rather wait a little longer for a better game then to get a rushed, glitch-filled game. Besides if we can wait a year for new Walking Dead T.V. episodes then we can wait a few more days for an awesome game. Keep up the great work Telltale.

Did you pay for the Walking Dead TV episodes before hand?

I think people are forgetting what people are mad about. They have a lot of peoples money. People who paid for all the episodes already. Those people are just worried their money may have been wasted. Which isn't wrong of them.

And consoles games are the same. Who cares if they are late? If you paid anything before hand it was probably just $5 for a pre-order. So, those who only paid the $5 for the first episode don't have anything to worry about. The rest might. That is the concern of the players.

On the PSN the sales blurb for a season pass states "episodes 2-5 to be released monthly" you may think that's not a lie, but it's certainly not the truth. At best it can only be described as a broken promise.

First place I went to was the Telltale website, the one advertised in the game. Nothing about release dates, even in the FAQ section. They have a Facebook page for the game too, where they post nothing about release dates or hint of an apology/explanantion. If they said something, gave some information I would call them an unpleasant name once and then leave it. You may think customer service doesn't matter, thousands think otherwise.
