I have read many many posts and replys..I just want to know when Episode 2 will be released (question of the day)
From what I have read Telltale hasn't released an "official release date".. just that it will be released in June.
Its just a little hard to believe and wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything. I keep checking my email hoping I receive one from Telltale, cant wait!
I sincerely hope its truly not June 24th, that's alot of email checking:o
^ +1 I couldn't agree more. I bought the all episode package, pre-order, thinking I'm getting a monthly release. I was also disappointed with the release date fiasco. I wish Telltale would step up to the podium and rise to same level as their product and at least set release dates and release the remaining series on those promised dates. This would help erase the release fiasco.
I know why Telltale doesn't give an exact date for release. Has anyone ever read a blog for a game that was a day or two late? People get apoplectic. Hate, venom, crying, complaining. It's like a kiddie playground. On the other hand, we did pay for monthly releases. It is not unreasonable to assume monthly meant once each month for the next 4 months. If I had of known Telltale meant monthly to mean four months in no particular order, time or relationship to each other, we may have waited to pay for each individual episode as it came out.
Telltale could save a little face by making some kind of statement. Not an apology but an explanation with a general time frame for release. Nothing specific but maybe "We intend to release all episodes by years end" or something like that.
instead of 4 weeks why cant they make it 4 hours instead. that way at most we would only have to wait 4 hours between episodes and then seasons can be broken into 4 day gaps.
really good game and it is annoying having to wait a month per episode.
Do not worry.. episode 2 WILL be released.. Please notice the people who have been here for multiple game seasons are not panicking or worried.. They will unleash it on us when its ready, I am sure you all would not want a broken game.
Those who paid for the Season Pass (like myself) have every right to feel frustrated. The facts are that we have parted with our money and engaged in a contract to receive both a product and a service. The product is obviously the downloadable chapters of the game; and the service which they are to provide is the date-specific release of the product.
They advertise their product with this sentence:
"Episode 1 Available Now, Episodes 2-5 To Be Released Monthly".
So in order to fulfil their obligation to the customer, they should have released the second episode on any day in the month of May; which they have not done. The same applies with subsequent chapters; on any day of the chapter's respective month.
Many people will have taken this into account when deciding whether to purchase the Season Pass. I'm sure I would have had second thoughts if they'd have advertised: "Episodes 2-5 to be released sporadically, at scattered and unannounced occasions."
Imagine booking a cinema ticket and turning up at the agreed time; everyone is sitting in their seats in the theatre just waiting, time passes, the movie doesn't start, more time passes, you search for a staff member to ask them what the hell is going on - but there are no staff around to give you any answers and the movie still hasn't started. Would those same people who are posting to Telltale's defence also rush to the defence of the cinema in the example I've used? I doubt it.
I just want the damn game that I've already paid for..
Do not worry.. not worried just angry episode 2 WILL be released.. I'm sure it will, just not when they promised it would. I'm willing to bet money that we don't see episode 5 until 2013 Please notice the people who have been here for multiple game seasons are not panicking or worried.. Don't give a shit, if those people are prepared to be lied to and put up with broken promises and zero customer service good luck to them, they are special peopleThey will unleash it on us when its ready, I am sure you all would not want a broken game.then they should have told us they would unleash it when it's ready not every month. No I don't want a broken game, but I was led to believe that the entire game was almost complete when episode 1 was released. However, it's becoming clear that it wasn't and people who paid money have no idea when they will be receiving the final episode.
Not sure why we as a country have to be such impatient, self-serving, butt-holes. "They took my money and didn't post a release date or they prolonged the release date and I paid good money" .....waaaaaaaa. Just Relax!! I'm pretty sure it will be released and it will be great and fun. "oh but i have to check me email everyday and I hate waiting".....waaaaaaaa. Babies. Just relax.. go get a squirt from your mother's tit and wait patiently while you complain about your iPhone being too slow. Or you can go out and make the game yourself, that's an option because you know how easy it is. The thing is, they are probably tweaking it so much because all the complaining everyone did about the controls on the first episode and they wanna make it perfect for you. Im sure if they decide not to release it, you will get a refund. Patience is a virtue my friends.
I did the Modest Medusa Season 1 kickstarter back in august/september and didn't get my book till february/march so I know I can't be accused of not having patience
First thing,Hello everyone. Secondly, I have been lurking this particular thread for maybe 1-1/2 weeks(sorry I just was hoping to find information like anyone else) and I think what it boils down to is;people just want taletale to say something. It doesn't have to be an exact release date, or an apology. They read these threads and know some people are upset, all it take would be an update to they're website to calm a lot of people down.
They are customers after all. But that's just my opinion.
Let me start by saying I loved episode 1 of the series and I'm looking forward to the remainder of the series no matter how long it takes. However, I fully understand why some people are upset especially those who have already paid for all five episodes.
Telltale Games put themselves in this situation. They're the ones who said monthly releases (whether they made a "promise" or not is irrelevant they put it out there). They set themselves up with that deadline, they failed to reach that deadline, and now they're dealing with the fan backlash.
It also doesn't help that they've gone silent and given us no information about the delay. Even if they would say something simple like "We ran into some unexpected problems and the game will be delayed. We apologize for this, but rest assured we're working hard to fix these issues and give you the best experience possible when the game releases." I think a simple explanation about the delay would go a long way with the fans.
I'll say it again I LOVED episode 1 of the series and I will buy the remaining episodes no matter how long the wait. That being said if we experience significant delays on all the episodes it'll have an impact on how I view future TTG releases. (I do not consider this a significant delay yet. A significant delay to me is 3+ weeks late).
Goodness. I try to quit looking at this thread but it’s like a train wreck – I keep sneaking peeks at the carnage. I know I’m going to get slammed for this but … for those of us that purchased all five episodes in advance it was $24.99. Come on people! I can’t even fill the gas tank in my car for less than $65 right now and that doesn’t even last a week. And I have to wait in line to do it. So I’ve prepaid for five episodes of a game and there’s a little snafu in the release dates. So what? When all is said and done, I’ll have an awesome game that’s mine forever. Or until my system crashes but I don’t even want to think about that. :0) And honestly, it would annoy me more to mess w/ paying five different times for individual episodes.
i want to say if any one did not see that it my take more time then 1 month for ech ep. to come out u have not played my game or just new to this . u payed for 5 ep's as long as u get all 5 then they did there job.
My God people calm down! It's not the end of the world. Shit happens.
If you already payed for a season pass then stop bitching about a realease date and grow a pair. Episode 2 will get here when it gets here. Making a video game isn't easy, especially a good one.
Sure I was bummed when Ep.2 didn't come out monthly like it was supposed to, but I didn't freak out like a little two year old having a temper tantrum because I didn't get it my way.
I'm upset yes, but attacking TTG isn't the damn solution.
Just think of how awesome it'll be, all glitch free when it comes out.
The thing is, they are probably tweaking it so much because all the complaining everyone did about the controls on the first episode and they wanna make it perfect for you. Im sure if they decide not to release it, you will get a refund. Patience is a virtue my friends.
See how easy it is to give a reason for the delay, that's all people want. Yet you had to do it because Telltale won't.
So many Telltale apologists on here seem convinced that the anger is simply because people are impatient, it's not, it's because people were lied to and as of yet have received no explanation as to why.
I'm sure one day they will release the rest of the episodes and I will download them and thoroughly enjoy playing them. But I will never purchase another game from Telltale even if it contains Japanese porn stars fighting zombies on the moon.
Well Idk if anyone has pointed this out yet...but it says on the most recent news & updates that it will be out in 2 weeks and it was posted on May 22 so that means it will most likely come out on June 5. (Or earlier hopefully)

LOL - That made me laugh xD
Anyway, yeah. Back Spasm hit the nail on the head there. People just don't like being kept in the dark; this isn't a concept that's new/radical or limited to the games industry - it's the same for any business in any market. For example: people don't mind waiting a little longer for their food in a restaurant; as long as they are made aware that there will be a delay and offered some kind of explanation. Keep them in the dark however, and they feel like they've been ignored. It's simple, tried and tested "customer service"; which seems to have eluded Telltale. -_-'
Funny there are always little whiners.!! If you've been waiting patiently like myself there are small updates that you could have spotted, like the update to this sticky "June but when ", and the fact the poll on this thread goes to june 6th. surely you can wait till then to start posting crap....
Would be nice to come to ONE thread that isn't littered with impatient little girls posts, and actually read an important update .. GOD KNOWS WE WILL MISS IT WITH THIS MUCH SPAM....
also thier time is being spent obviously finishing the game would u like them to come on and waste valuable programming time just to let the impatient ones know its not ready yet? My advice STFU and wait till after the 6th

Wow, I didn't realise that Telltale's programmers were also in charge of Public Relations. We'd better not distract them; huh guys? -_-'

Didn't Know you knew what Telltales role descriptions consist of, whiner.. always something to cry about isn't there?
Well it doesn't take a genius to work out that most established developers aren't one-man-armies..
Besides, if I ran a company I'd much rather a customer tell me that there's a problem so that I can make sure it isn't repeated; as opposed to wanting them to shut up because they're "whining" customers.

If you bother to read the 1st post the thread starter states they do not know when the release date is either and that they do not work for Telltale. So 'June but when' and the poll only going up to June 6th mean nothing. It is not a 'small update' it's the hopeful speculations of another gamer.
My advice to you is the same and see you here on the 6th.

Guess you dont have anything better to do with you life than cry. Point is Crying is like a Rocking chair, it'll pass the time sure, But in the end it doesn't get you anywhere.
Do you want to do something for someone more or less when they cry/whine/bitch at you about it, or does it just make u wanna slap em in the face?
My God people calm down! It's not the end of the world. Shit happens.
But, you know what? A little announcement wouldn't go amiss. Why, when someone like myself has paid for them all up front, should I not hear about my purchase?
People complain quick enough when they order something from eBay and it doesn't arrive on time, they complain to managers when their food arrives late to the table after ordering two hours beforehand, so why can't people complain about this?
It's basic customer service, if you pay for something, you expect something in return. If that something is meant to arrive by a certain time and it doesn't, then an apology and an update on what is happening isn't asking for the moon.
It's good customer relations. As a first time customer of TTG I can say that this isn't a great impression and I'd certainly think twice about giving them anymore money in the future.
If they want happy customers a little blog or even a Twitter feed with updates on delays would be a great idea and would cut the amount of people complaining that their purchase is yet to arrive.
Tl;dr
They should at least keep us updated as to the progress of the damn game instead of just keeping tight-lipped. It's bad for customer relations.
At the end of the day, they should have only released the first episode when they had most if not all of the other episodes completed, to avoid any of this nonsense.
It's like if AMC were to release the first episode of The Walking Dead TV series without having the subsequent episodes finished; it just wouldn't happen.
yeah the way i look at it is the pre order /season pass in just that a season pass you will get the episodes when they are ready.
so like with bttf the release dates have been 'vague' and monthly was an estimate they planned to release 5 parts monthly but because of the way the world works
If this happened with BTTF then why is it still an issue with TWD?
If they've encountered these issues before then they should have planned better, like Caniscray said, get most of them ready before releasing them. It isn't professional.
What I have read there is, "TTG cannot ever release shit on time, they suck".
If a business is constantly having "shit happens" issues then they are in serious need of restructuring.
Noone is disputing "shit happens" (despite it being a shitty reason for a company to fail on releasing games when they say they will), it is more of a case of it being delayed and no one bothering to let the customer know what is happening with the product they have , in some cases, already paid for.
On the PSN the sales blurb for a season pass states "episodes 2-5 to be released monthly" you may think that's not a lie, but it's certainly not the truth. At best it can only be described as a broken promise.
Why is it so hard to understand. SONY posted that text some time ago without knowing better. Do you at least understand the concept of time, like yesterday, today and future? You cannot lie about the future, right?
First place I went to was the Telltale website, the one advertised in the game. Nothing about release dates, even in the FAQ section. They have a Facebook page for the game too, where they post nothing about release dates or hint of an apology/explanantion. If they said something, gave some information I would call them an unpleasant name once and then leave it. You may think customer service doesn't matter, thousands think otherwise.
As you said yourself, TT never gave a date, so why should they say sorry for missing a deadline which they never announced?
BTW: Monthly does not mean every 30 days or at the same day every month.
BTW: Monthly does not mean every 30 days or at the same day every month.
Monthly is accepted as "once a month at regular intervals" or "Appearing at least once a month". It didn't appear in May at all. So saying they are monthly releases, monthly being 30 days or appearing at least once in each month, is wrong. They missed May, that makes it bi-monthly.
One thing is for sure and that is repeatedly complaining and saying the same things ain't gonna make the next episode come any faster. Also I could understand the worrying about the possibility of subsequent episodes not coming at all if Telltale doesn't have a history of fulfilling every season of games that they have announced (9 full seasons so far by my count, not including Jurassic Park as that was handled differently, similarly their CSI games).
I'm so mad. I want my game NOW!!!!!! I paid for it and I want it NOW!!! They lied and continue to lie. It was supposed to be monthly and it's not. You see, the first one was released in April. May came and went and no episode. That means they lied.
