It's episodic, to me this means that pre-ordering finances a better game as it's made (similar to crowd funding, only better), with the bonus of possibly influencing the story, depending on player reaction.

It helps not to come back every day/week. I haven't been on for about a month and it makes things much easier. It should be coming sometime this week, if their estimate is anything to go by. I'd be surprised if it takes longer than 2 months to release. If it does, and they claim it's for quality reason, I hope it's better than the last 2. Last 2 episodes were great, but my decisions didn't seem to matter at all.
so still the same fucked up shit and no date, death of episodic gaming, the wait is to long and spoils the whole thing you end just waiting and playing it all as one game anyway, fucking months for 2 hours gameplay

It looks like the decisinon do matter, however not so clear... As for another 2 month waiting time, I will not be suprised at all, in fact I'll be suprised if it come out on time....
Difference between episodic gaming and regular whole releases.
"It's 5 months until my game finishes, yay! Oh no, it was pushed back another month!" (Happens every time. Everyone whines.)
"I played two parts of the game and the next release got pushed back! There is no god! *swallows poison*"
Seriously, if you like full releases, wait til it's done. Games are delayed in exactly the same way for exactly the same reasons. Similarly, they're also released too early and then suck. Telltale's not doing anything different, you just have a nice place to whine together.

Not everyone wants to wait 10 months for something they were promised in 5. If I kept ordering pizza, and they came the following day, I'm not sure I'd make the mistake more than twice, no matter how good said metaphorical pizza was.
People don't like that they pre-ordered for monthly content that isn't coming in monthly. What's so hard to understand about that? Then, you have this bullshit excuse: 'They said it would be ready by mid-august, They didn't actually say it'll be released mid-august'. It's funny. [snip]
I'm not for whining all the time. Take for example Grand Theft Auto fans. They are whining about not getting information about GTA V. Now Rockstar hasn't promised or charged them for information so I don't see what the problem is. However, TT has charged people for monthly content, and they have not delivered so everyone who is bitching has a right to. This is what I assume this forum was made for. To talk about the game, give feedback, and voice concerns. [snip]
I actually don't mind waiting for content as I have other things to keep me busy, but from my short time here all I've seen are people putting other people down for their gripes with the company. These same people are voicing their concerns in a civilized manner, more civilized than I've seen on other gaming forums. So I don't see why they have to be judged and told to shut up [snip]

Classy......But I agree with the statement, even as ill-minded and ignorant as it sounds. People should allow criticisms to flow as it assists in letting the devs. know what's wrong and what people dislike about a game.
Not everyone wants to wait 10 months for something they were promised in 5. If I kept ordering pizza, and they came the following day, I'm not sure I'd make the mistake more than twice, no matter how good said metaphorical pizza was.
Uh. Between the pizza metaphors and stuff about [snip] I think we've lost my point. Games are delayed to shit no matter what, episodic or non. I don't give a shit about Telltale's specific records or how you feel you're different; I'm not a Telltale fanboy (at least, not where the Monkey Island series isn't concerned). I'm only pointing out that video game releases suck across the board. I don't care about your problems, especially when I hear is rehash. You're not in the support forum, you're just talking to people exactly like you who have already heard your stance.
It's late. Accept that video games are always late or stay in the support forum until you get your fucking money back. I can do without your irrational arguments and immature metaphors and it's not hurrying the releases or changing the company.
Classy......But I agree with the statement, even as ill-minded and ignorant as it sounds. People should allow criticisms to flow as it assists in letting the devs. know what's wrong and what people dislike about a game.
Feedback? Sure. Crap like the unedited version of that post? No.

I don't know what he wished to accomplish by alluding to one's sexual preference as a form of negative on how they react to criticism against a company they like. But y'know he'll live and learn. Best way to get your point across is to not insult the person you're trying to get a point across.
Remember when the website, Steam, Live and PS3 store descriptions all said 'monthly', then Telltale just simply deleted that word after months had passed? They can do the exact same thing with the mid-August time frame they've written now.
If they say it's going to be in August, come back in October.
Remember when Team Fortress didn't have all of their Meet The Team videos out? God, time flies when no one updates. I wonder if I can find new VGCats material yet.
Telltale is late, people get angry, people get angry at those already angry people, all these angry people start insulting one another, repeat every episode until completion.
Now the only way that this will all stop is if Telltale had stuck by their once month moto.
Don't use cheap tactics like it will be READY by mid August not RELEASED.
Then not telling people who thought it was getting released mid August that it would only be finished by then.
Everyone on the boards seemed to think or post something about it being released mid August just scroll back and read the messages, and Telltale does read these forums we do know that.
Never accepting responsibly to their paying costumers - slyly changing the monthly release text, never responding to peoples questions about the release of episode 2 when it was late, pretending they meant READY as to be submitted by mid August, when if that was the case they would just posted that.
Especially when they saw their costumers talking about a mid August release, and yes they would have seen they do read these forums.
Now if Telltale can actually treat their costumers and product in a more professional manner and get their act together then yes the moaning and fighting will finally stop.
one of the Staff from TellTale sent a link to the blog because their is a Stats video on Episode 2 and in the description they describe how Episode 3 isnt ready for released but is done just waiting on approval and w/e...i said "get that shit out of here and give us paying and loyal cutsomers what u guys promised but no u wait for so long to announced that Episode 3 midaugust isnt for release its just for getting approval."
Lol, sait, wait. So you somehow thought that the season pass would grant you the game before everyone else? Did you just not understand episodic gaming or what? As for your tight schedule, play your catch up games now since you seem to have put games on hold for some reason.
u do know i said why i put amazing spider-man on-hold. im waiting for Episode 3 to come out this week if not FUCK TellTale Games and im moving on with Amazing Spider-man
That´s great, then we will hopefully get the episode this month!
I belive so. If they submit today or tomorrow we will most likely get to play the episode august 22 or 23.
As far as I can tell they submitted about june 10th (the E3 video). If the certification proces takes about the same time as for ep2, it should be done in 10 days:)
I agree I would not have a problam with telltale games if they were streat foward with you. I would understand if they just told you whats going on, and this is our projected release date. The Walking Dead id an OK game I like the idea behind it and the art work.
BUT regardless of the monthly release thang, people are still buying the game with the wrong idea, they are expecting an fps, good graphics not cel shaded, not aware it's episodic/don't understand the concept of it, expect more than 2-3 hours of gameplay per episode, they expect full control and shooting zombies, plus people are complaining about the choices...
A simple truth is, people will complain about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING if it doesnt suit their wishes perfectly.
Like Clem.. everyone is starving, I gave her some food.. the ungrateful lil twit wanted a Sundae. Should have been an option to knock her upside her head and say "eat what your given or go hungry"!
Some people may want more of a FPS so they complain if it isn't.
Some want different choice options but complain if they don't get them.
No matter how the game is designed, no matter how good it truely is, no matter how many people will absolutely love it for what it is, you will ALWAYS have some that will pick apart any minor thing just to justify a complaint.
Like when I found Mark legless in the upstairs bathroom, I had to run down and stop the group from eating, but I was too slow and Clem ate some.
Justifiable reason to complain!
(begin sarcasm)
TT didnt give me enough time to run down and warn Clem not to eat. This game SUCKS!! They should make it where I get everything I want! (end sarcasm)
And as for Clem.. she got food at the motel and even some Mark-meat.. I better not hear her complain about hungry again for another few months!
"In the meantime, as the wait for Episode Three – Long Road Ahead nears its end, check out the latest stats video. Does knowing that thousands of other players made different choices get you chomping at the bit to try the episode their way? Hop back into the previous two episodes and get caught up before Episode Three hits in the coming weeks!"
I did that the day It came out, totally time for the strange. I wonder if any one that said "I wont play it when it finally comes, they've lost me!" over episode 2's delay actually followed through with the threat. Imagine if you waited till Christmas? Would
we have the whole game? Does any one know if the air can is a good idea for removing dust from a ps3? My guess is it'd just push it deeper.

thanks for the odd clarification of what i said in the quote box?!
as for clem you can stop her eating if you pick a choice quick enough, as soon as you find mark get down the stairs asap it is possible..

This a rather strange rant, especially considering the massive contradiction at the start "Like Clem.. everyone is starving, I gave her some food.. the ungrateful lil twit wanted a Sundae. Should have been an option to knock her upside her head and say "eat what your given or go hungry"!", you have just in effect 'complained' about an element of the game that disappointed you.
There's nothing wrong with 'complaining' about certain aspect of the game that don't deliver what they promise, it's called criticism and it's actually helpful. If you don't think the choice system is meaty enough then what's wrong with saying so? What about if you don't like the button mashing elements, or would like to have seen some more puzzle sections? You might find that many others agree and with a little bit of luck TT may notice and take it on board.
The same applies with the release date, if you aren't happy with delays in a service/product you have paid for then you are more than welcome to say so.

This means at least another month for the EU-customers on PS3... Sigh
