It's 12:40am the 28th and just checked Steam.. not available yet.. Didn't think it would be, just had to check

I really doubt anybody's playing it right now on Psn because PlayStation doesn't update until after 8 o'clock in the morning and its only about 1 a.m on the west coast right now

Would you finally understand that this delay can't_be_avoided. Thank you.

Yeah I would understand if it was 2-3 days like with other great games, but with Telltale it's a freakin' week! That I can't understand.
I am perfectly ok that european releases are few days later from US releases, but there always are solid dates with other companies, with TTG it's always "coming ASAP" and they announce the date only few hours before the release! If this is okay with you I am happy for you man, but for me it's just weird.

Add ons for the xbox are normally released on tuesdays and arcade games on wedsndays. It was released tuesday last time, so It might be released today imo.

That's because they aim to get their games out as soon as possible, both for them and the partners they're working with. Sometimes ASAP literally means the next day, sometimes it means a week later. It depends when they get confirmation back of whatever partners they're using.

The reason other companies have what look like more solid dates is that they get the certifications done well inside the release window they have set at which point they just sit and wait until the release date comes to them.

Telltale could do that, but they prefer to have as little a delay with a release as possible.

I'm pretty sure this is beyond Telltale's control. Afaik, Bethesda has had the same issue with their latest Skyrim patches, which EU PSN somehow managed to delay for two or three weeks.

These "early" releases of a few (in this case: one) days for certain consoles (last time for the Xbox, now for PS3) confuse me. Are there actually timed-exclusive contracts with Microsoft/Sony? Because otherwise Telltale could surely just put out the PC version right now...? *weep* ... Well, I can take the wait. ;)

Once again EU PS3 players get screwed. Perhaps they want to punish us for beating New York to host the Olympics?

And no, I'll understand a lot but it can be avoided.... e.g. Hold back everyone else until you can release simultaneously. I know that's mean and selfish but feeling a bit grumpy as I wanted to play without all the barely hidden spoilers in forum posts. Why did I look at the forums? Because I wanted to know when the game was out. Writing "Spoiler Alert - why did x do y" doesn't help. As a strong reader I kind of see the whole sentence at once so instantly I've read some of the spoiler. Grrrrrrrrr

Four days last time; compared to previous games, that was ultra-quick. But this IS beyond Telltale's control. No one got "screwed" just because he gets the episode a few days later.

It will be exactly like that for two more TWD episodes, whatever Telltale still accomplishes in their general release schedule, so please at least don't act surprised each time.

    Surprised, no.

    Annoyed, yes.

It would be interesting to know if they would release EU a few days or a week before US? My gut feeling says probably not.

If you really want to blame someone, blame Sony Europe as it looks like their certification process takes longer than Sony NA.
  • edited August 2012
Comon now,is 2-3 days less or more REALLY that important?I think Telltale surprised us all that they release it 2 days after "a news update :P".At least it before September. :)

Seriously, people wait for TTG to announce a release date and assume it's going to be the same day of the announcement? That's illogical. I guess people complain about everything. I have to wait for Wednesday. Big deal - it's only one day. Imagine the EU players. They have to wait maybe a week. Good luck to them :D

It's being released today (the 28th) for the PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade and the 29th for PC and Mac. You can all stop the complaining now about Episode 3 and start for Episode 4.

I'm happy despite being a psn eu dude :)
It's nice to know that it is finally there. A few more
days won't kill me. I only need to avoid this forum to
    be safe from spoilers :)

I'm from Europe, enough said... or should I say enough sad. Damn PSN, but NOT damn TTG. I can't stand the haters since they don't know what kind of an effort it is to put an incredible magnificent episode up every two months. Imagine the wait for the first play of a game that has not been released episodically, a year might go by pretty fast, or slow, depending on how much you're anticipating. I'm a big fan of this product and I don't want them to destroy it by rushing.

If I read the text correctly, it is going to be released to all X-box players in the world at the same time... Is that correct? Can anybody confirm that? Maybe even what time they usually update:)

Exactly, better to suffer through a delay and enjoy a quality product. You're from Finland! Welcome!

If you are reffering to the story, voice acting, great characters and art style that is. Because technically this game is mess. All the stuttering and glitches... Don't see high quality in that.
  • edited August 2012
damn it, why would the steam release not be the same time everywhere (maybe it is, that part was confusing), i have to leave and cannot return until i have completed episode 3 at least once :)
  • edited August 2012
I play on Xbox and as much as I would like to play it today, I don't mind. I am sure Telltale have their reasons, unless it is just to 'make up' for Episode 2, that is lame as hell. One thing that is kind of worrying is their messed up schedule. Announcing the release date one day before the release date can't be good for their sales. I wonder if they have dropped or will drop in sales with Episode 2 and 3 compared to Episode 1.

Still I am so glad I bought Episode 1 (with very low expectations) and loved it so much and then loved Episode 2 even more. I can't wait to play Episode 3 tomorrow.
