PC gamers have already given their money. There is nothing gained from us. But letting MS and Sony bid over exclusive early releases is definately a way to pump more gold into the coffers.
Well, as for the PC situation, it's a little annoying, but I can't really say I'm "mad" about it. At least it's still within a day of the console releases. Still beats waiting for it on iOS. I am a little curious as to the reason why the PC release takes longer though. I would think that would be the easiest platform to release for. Unlike PlayStation and Xbox, there's no middleman that they have to go through. It's using their own software. I would think all they'd have to do is upload it to their server. Sure, that can take a while for big files, but they apparently had time to upload it to PSN and Xbox Live. I would think they could time the PC upload to finish at around the same time. I don't know. Maybe I'm just underestimating the technical difficulties involved. Would be nice if someone from Telltale could maybe shed a little light on the process.
they relayed it what 1 maybe 2 hours ago its all most midnight here in the uk been waiting all day so you maybe able to see the problem there
They promised the game August 29th PST - using common sense, that could easily mean 30th August GMT for UK gamers. So waiting all day was a little bit silly.

I guess its possible that they have some kind of contractual obligation to PSN and Xbox Live for an earlier release or something.
Valve games are released at PST maybe, but most other games are released at GMT in my experience.
And yeah TTG made it clear that it was PST but 6PST means 18 hours of that day gone in the USA too. So that's 3/4 of the day gone, if they released it 00:00 PST, it would be nice of them. Like I said, I'm quite sure that it can be released without having to be in the office since there are countdowns for many games on Steam and as soon as it hits 0, the game is available. So if 3/4 of the day is gone, that's not a good release either.
Also, they offered monthly episodes, look where we are now.
Plus, they could have set the exact time even days ago, like any proper publisher but no, they had to make us wait and tell us 3 hours prior to the release.
If it was just a money grab - wouldn't they release sub-standard games every month on the dot, regardless of quality?
this. I waited for each ep and have had no glitches other than my older desktop wont run it but on my laptop i have had no problems. now if they start taking forever to come out and still have alot of bugs then thats screwing you over, but some bugs cant be helped/found through regular runs sometimes and so the occasional bug is understandable. checking steam.....and no. mustve tried steam like 2 or 3 hundred times today i frickin swear (Shit...since frickin isn't a swear word:p)

divisionten, that's a very good motivation considering the areas this game explores haha, you would enjoy the game more than us probably, with heightened feelings
You don't need to know there is a pile of garbage behind a door if you can smell it.
We can't smell it though. You don't know anything that's happening, just that something has gone wrong. I still don't get how you guys all jump to the "LIARS" argument, when it feels more like Telltale were overconfident with their skills and didn't realize how hard this kind of stuff is.
Of course, that isn't a good thought either and I immediately jumped to as the conclusion like the people saying "liars" so uhh... where does that leave us again?
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather wait a few hours for something that doesn't have a problem, rather than getting it early then being disappointed by an error.
Keep up the good work TellTale, been a fan of yours since the second season of Sam and Max, and that is not going to change.
It will be the 29th... where Telltale are based. It will be the 30th in the UK. It has always been this way when Telltale announce a launch date. I understand what he is saying, but I don't think either of you understand how worldwide launches work.
"UPDATE 8/29/2012: For everyone anxiously awaiting the release of The Walking Dead: Episode Three for PC and Mac, we will be live by 6 pm PST today through the TTG Store, Steam, Origin, and our other digital partners. We appreciate your support of The Walking Dead and we are excited for you to experience the episode.
IT'S OFFICIAL! The Walking Dead: Episode Three – Long Road Ahead will release Tuesday, August 28th on PlayStation Network in North America for $4.99 or as part of the Season Pass option for $19.99 which includes all five episodes. The episode will also be available on Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday, August 29th for 400 MS Points as DLC within the original The Walking Dead XBLA release, and also on PC/MAC as part of a Season Pass on the Telltale Games Store, as well as through our partners on Steam, Origin, Amazon PC Downloads, GameStop, and GameFly. European and international release dates for PlayStation Network are still to be confirmed. The title is in submission with our international partners at SCEE, and as soon as Telltale Games receives a release confirmation, a date will be announced."
Do you see PST in this official announcement?
Ah, they've added the first paragraph to cover their asses I see(This evening).
This is exactly what I said would happen if they gave people information before the release of episode 2. They give you information and you shit on them for it because you had to do some math.
For future reference, (and you should have realized this since episode 1) they go by GMT-8. There is your time frame for EVERY release they do. You are welcome.
IF they didn't realize that this kind of stuff is too hard, they should have realized this a long time ago and not repeat it over and over again. I hope we don't go through this with ep4 and definitely not Season2. If they say they will give us monthly episodes again in Season2, they better do it -.-

Ah, they've added the first paragraph to cover their asses I see.
I do see it, yes. Plus they're based in San Rafael, California.
My annoyance comes from the fact that I've already parted ways with the entire cost of the game yet when I look on the 360 I see them only being charged per episode. Now I would think you would want to deliver the content to those who paid first instead of last, which is what is happening here.
Not only that but every time the consoles get a prompt update around the same time as Microsoft and Sony are really good about this. Telltale on the other hand just has to release the PC version, which the best of my knowledge was done alongside the console version about two weeks ago.
It would be a different story if all the platforms had a scattered release like this where you didn't really know when it was releasing until it did but Xbox Live updates at the same time every, PSN updates at the same time (though sometimes late), so why is the PC version getting left in the cold?
I'd be pretty annoyed right now if I had planned on playing this today. We already deal with the cliff hanger endings, unknown launch windows, and constantly delays in a story we're actively engaged in. This is just salt on an annoying wound.
This isn't about hate so much so as just wanting better service and to get easier access to a product I paid for. I love the work Telltale does and I don't want them to stop but they could streamline the process for PC gamers some. That is one of the freaking perks of the platform after all. I'd expect this nonsense on my 360.
Very well said. Just more accurate information, communication, and some reasoning from TT. No one on this forum is out to sink TT.

To be fair, it seems that a lot of people are out to sink Telltale. For every well-reasoned chap, there seems to be a foul-mouthed fool in his wake.
I don't usually entertain fools but I'll make an exception. The first paragraph did not exist before this evening. This means that EVERYONE in the world would get it on the 29th, like the 360 release for example.
I just saw the tags for this thread
guess the release day
telltale eats babies
now i'm not for sure but one of those is pretty silly so I'm wondering when guess the release day is going to be removed from the tags as its just silly and makes me a hulf sized madman:p oh and im so joking in case no one knows (apparently my jokes aren't funny but fuk it I keep on laughing;))

We(The UK) didn't get it, do you get it?
Okay so now I'm a fool. Even if the first paragraph didn't exist before this evening - which I didn't realise - that only means that they didn't specify the timezone. So they didn't lie, did they? You really need to learn some manners - you must be a nightmare when you're waiting in line at the post office.

no one on pc/mac has it yet...GET IT! stop being so combative as its very easy to start online beef (but since its only online its like online chicken.:p) and we all just want to play. anger leads to hate and hate leads to...well you know;)

It's not even 4pm where they are - and they have relayed the info to their customers, promising the game before 6.00pm. So what don't we know?
ye i agree with you just a money grab for them
they relayed it what 1 maybe 2 hours ago its all most midnight here in the uk been waiting all day so you maybe able to see the problem there
Clearly Telltale has a communication problem if they aren't able to properly get their message across.

its not m8
Personally, I'm going to play it this weekend on my 10+ hour flight to go see my family.
You are going to have a 5 year old or something behind you and a parent complain about how violent it is
Two things.
1. Headphones
2. Bulkhead seat.
The advantages of being blind.

Surely, one would assume that they would honour their own timezone (http://24timezones.com/usa_time/ca_marin/san_rafael.htm) rather than the UK's?!
PS: Thanks for entertaining me, I really appreciate it.
Still nothing..TellTale is the confirmed king of delays..
JahBless, King of hyperbole.
