Imagine if there was a miscommunication and all the Valve guys are home sleeping?

    What have I become?

    I started out flaming Telltale.

    Now I defend them...

What sort of monster am I?

Go look at the mirror. See what they've turned you into?!

I'd have to say..the moment TTG site buyers starting downloading..is the same time the game began uploading TO steam. SO we would naturally have to wait that additional time.

    Doubt it.
UPDATE 8/29/2012: For everyone anxiously awaiting the release of The Walking Dead: Episode Three for PC and Mac, we will be live by 6 pm PST today through the TTG Store, Steam, Origin, and our other digital partners. We appreciate your support of The Walking Dead and we are excited for you to experience the episode.

When you say BY 6pm, you are suggesting AT 6pm or BEFORE.
So something is going on with this process. I'm disappointed, but I'm not mad.

This doesn't make any sense at all. MANY games are even preloaded from Steam so there is no reason they would start uploading the game on the release time. If they are actually doing that, there are no words that can describe how bad a company TTG is, at least in terms of "respect for gamers and equality values"

Sounds better my way in two ways...it's not bitching...and it's not brown-nosing.

Oh well time for bed :). I hope the episode is here when I wake up.

    Guys,

Ignoring for a moment that the game is already stupidly late, this is not Steam's fault--it is up to the developer to anticipate problems and be "done" far enough in advance that the game releases when its suppose to release, regardless of any issues in the pipeline.

Whatever validations, quality checks, data migration or whatever else need to get done (including delays, problems, etc.) AFTER the final product is shipped are PART OF YOUR EQUATION when determing a release date and when to be done with your work, heh.

    That's just good business.

If TTG is handing off the final version to Steam at the last possible moment, how is it fair that Steam gets the blame? That makes no sense.

I'm getting the feeling Telltale has just sent the game to Steam even though they should've had it weeks ago considering the extra development time they've had.

This means we may not see the game until tomorrow...

Someone tell me I am wrong...

    Please.

This thread has been...interesting, but this situation is not entertaining. I have class for 3 hours. If the game isn't out by the time I get home, then 'somebody gonna get-a hurt reaaaal baaad'.

We should change this topic to "Who will be the first to comment accurately when it finally releases to Steam"

I think the collaboration between gaming vendors has been epic failure

Haven't the Steam versions been traditionally a little bit delayed compared to the direct-from-Telltale versions? At least that's how I remembered it happening with Tales of Monkey Island. It's just something that can't be easily fixed by Telltale.

Anyways, I have to say I'm entertained by some of the more comical outbursts of impatience so that'll definitely tide me over this little wait. :)

Agree 100%. Steam just works with what they are given at the time they are given it. I still blame TTG.

So us steam users still have to wait. You would of thought TTG would of compensated for the steam upload.

I have to say that this doesn't surprise me. TTG need to get their act together if any consumers want to take them seriously in the future. Because this long ass episodic bull crap is more trouble than it is worth.

Nuuuu... 9:30 on 30th Aug (Thurs) and still no release?

I say we all sit in a circle with our hands joined and sing songs to the old gods of the world in hope that a day may come that TTG will release their games on time.

    Non-violence is true violence :p

If you go to TWD game page on Steam it won't let you open it, might be updating or smtng...
  • edited August 2012
I cannot validate if it's on steam, I only have a Telltale copy, and my original .dmg file was corrupted (my fault, not theirs) so I had to download it again. >_<

How do I transfer my save game files from the Steam version to the TTG version? I pre-ordered from TTG, got the Steam key and played the first two on Steam. Now, I'm downloading from TTG and it is not showing that I completed 2.
