My recommendation is to get some sleep.

This way you know it will be out for sure when you wake.

I doubt it will take more than an hour but I can guarantee that if it does there will be some major rage going on in these here forums.

Thanks for the concern nice albino dyed hair moderator girl. I just wish developers would let their pc customers know what's going on instead of keeping them in the dark like second rate mushrooms?

i wonder if its steams fault, or TTG's fault
  • edited August 2012
Ugh. Tried to download. I get to the main screen and it says "connecting" and then stays on that screen for an eternity.

So sick of Telltale and their utterly inept customer service and technical support.

The funny thing is you know TTG is going to fail on each episode release.

    I've been here all day.

I was wondering where you were.

I figured you'd have things to say about the delay and ragers to deter.

GUYS. REPEATING AGAIN. I AM A VOLUNTEER MODERATOR. I AM NOT A TELLTALE EMPLOYEE. I DON'T HAVE EVERY BUILD OF THE GAME.

I'm just here to keep the peace. Really. I know just as much as you do as to when things are out or not.

"Sorry" is a bad thing to say? Personally, as a Steam user, I think it's rather the opposite.

I restarted steam!!! and it started downloading!! I got excited than I realized it was an update for portal 2 :(

nah, i am still young and this is something i was waiting for since episode 2.

Sometimes, crazy ppl like me just need such a game in a rough time, so i will smoke, watch a episode of an anime or smth and will rage then, if it is still not out.

Do i have to click smth. in steam or will it show itselfe from selfe?

It is TTG's fault for not uploading the game sooner, and not allowing preloads despite many major companies use that system.

And it's been half an hour, they could at least write "something" to let us know that they are working on the damn issue

This is rather sad but us Steam users did get boned. I don't recalled who said it earlier on a post but its true. Steam has TWD game for sale and Telltale games seems to be greedy. Apparently we won't get the game until the Sale on Steam is over.

I'm sure this has probably been said a million times, but I just have to post my thoughts about it.

As a business, Telltale blows. No other gaming studio would allow this to happen. Blizzard would never allow this, EA wouldn't allow this, Valve wouldn't allow this, nobody. When I say "allow this," I'm speaking on delaying a game and giving it's customers zero information on what's going on and why it's being delayed. Is there a problem uploading the game to Steam/XBL/PSN? Let us know. Was there a bug last minute that one of the testers caught and it could have potentially deleted your save file and you need to spend another day fixing it? Let us know..Telltale doesn't do that, they just stay silent and don't inform anybody. Wanna know another company that stays quiet about their issues and when they've done something wrong? EA. And you know how everybody feels about EA.

Some people here, including myself, have had the game pre-ordered before Episode 1 was even out. We were told we we're going to receive new episodes once a month..that shit went down the drain immediately after Episode 1 was released. Honestly, that's not even a big deal. One episode every month and a half or 2 months, it doesn't matter. As long as there's A DATE FOR US TO LOOK FORWARD TO. If your favorite games expansion was supposed to come out September 1st, but for some reason it didn't and the developers didn't tell you why or when to expect it, how would you feel?

This is probably all things you've guys heard before, but..The Walking Dead is a great game, and has caught a lot of mainstream attention. This game has definitely shown me Telltale can make good games, and I will potentially be buying future Telltale games, regardless of the terrible image they portray of themselves with the delays of Walking Dead. BUT...I'll tell you this, I will NEVER pre-order a Telltale game again in my life. If I would have known the game was going to release on consoles before PC/MAC, or be delayed on PC/MAC without any information as to WHY it's being delayed, I would have never preordered the game and just bought the episodes as they came.

Telltale has now lost a pre-order customer, and potentially a future customer in general if they continue to handle their errors in the way they've been doing.

**EDIT** I read that TTG is being greedy because Steam has the game for sale, which is the reason they are delaying. How about having GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE and releasing the game TO THE PEOPLE WHO PRE-ORDERED YOUR GAME FOR THE FULL F*C*ING PRICE AND NOT F*C*ING THEM OUT OF SOMETHING THEY PAID FOR.

As long as your Steam client is opened it should download the update on it's own.

On a side note I was waiting until I was finished playing Episode 3 of TWD before I started watching Darker Than Black.

TTG shouldn't have set a time they weren't 100% sure about. Also, it probably would be a lot better if they would pop a quick twitter message like "Whoops, having an issue, we'll give you updates every x minutes on the expected ETA."

TTG's biggest issue has been lackluster community management. Delays ain't no thing if you're communicative.

So it might mean they uploaded it at 6:00 and it takes time to get it up on Steam.

I dunno, trying to be optimistic.

    Holy cow hyperbole much.

They gave a release date and for all intents and purposes it was kept. Just because you have to wait a little longer for your pixilated escapism is no reason to get so mad. Quite litterally the amount of money you paid for this game is the same amount of money paid on a decent beer or a mediocre meal.
