TWD Season 2 speculation/suggestion (merged threads)

In the coming months, Telltale Games will release three more episodes of their adventure game The Walking Dead. They won't stop there, though. Telltale marketing executive Steve Allison said that they will create a second season eventually as well.

"Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do," Allison told Polygon.

The Walking Dead has been a huge critical and commercial success for Telltale. The first episode, "A New Day," sold almost 1.7 million copies in its first two months. It's said to be the company's fastest-selling game ever.

The game starts before the events of the Walking Dead show and comic. Lee Everett, a man convicted of murder, has been unexpectedly free as a zombie outbreak sweeps the globe. He and a small group of survivors band together in order to stay alive. As Lee, players must endure zombie attacks as well as internal strife among the survivors.

It's not clear whether the second season of the game will be a direct continuation of the first season. They might just decide to tell a new story with a completely different cast of characters. I'd be happy with either. The writing for these games has proven top-notch so I have faith that Telltale could craft another compelling set of survivors for us to follow.

Episode 3 of Walking Dead will be available in August. "Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do."

The thing that confuses me to no end is that Allison said "This will not be the last Walking Dead game series we do". Everywhere else it says that the game is going to have a second season, presumably having Lee and Clem return for the main cast. Does TT not know at this point?

Awesome news, can't wait to finish Season 1 and onto Season 2 will be awesome as well. I am loving this game so far so I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd game if and when it comes out.

I am not to much a fan of FPS game but I might check out that game too since I am hooked on the Walking Dead show and the game.

If Lee does indeed die at the end of Episode Five (in some dramatic, heroic way, I imagine), it begs the question: who will the protagonist for TTG's The Walking Dead Season Two be?

I personally love the idea of it being teenage Clementine. I can just see an older version, hunting the dead out of bitterness for what happened to Lee and the others. I think to take the sweet, innocent Clementine and see her grow into a ruthless, hardened young woman would be very interesting.

Of course, Lee may well survive this season and live to see another - but I have a strong feeling that it's Lee's contorted body that Clementine is staring at in the picture for episode five.

Let me hear your thoughts on what you'd like to see, characer-wise, for season two.

    Thanks for reading!

If that happen they would have to make her sexual in some way.

It's like you can't have a damn women character without her bust out and half nude.

I would hate to see that as Clem. Seeing how we all knew her as a little girl, and then to see her as a young blossomed women, with blood running down her bosom and leather boots on her toned yet feminine Carmel colored legs. The thought of her kinky hair with specks of grass and leaves in it due to her rolling on the ground with zombies and the innocent look in her eye that gives way to hardened determination.

No....No..that's just not the Clem I know. Not in short adventure shorts a-la- Laura Croft. I guess she would be like a "ebony" version of Laura Croft...so she would have a bit of a "trunk" and that would be allright...but I tell you what gentlemen. I wouldn't be able to stop seeing a 8 year old girl in that woman.

She will always be my little Clementine.

I don't expect that from Telltale. Who is the sexiest woman they've had thus far? Sybil? Marzipan? Momma Bosco?
  • edited July 2012
I can't see that happening either. What I was suggesting was merely a darker, older version of the Clementine we know. She can't stay young forever, and the time gap between season one and two could be years, depending on how this season closes.

I should hope not. Usually the more violent a game the more nude the women.

    it goes hand in hand.

    Sybil is pretty damn sexy

Without the means for programming, I'd love for Lee to return as protagonist and Clem as the deuteragonist.

I can't imagine Lee dying, What if Clementine's parents are really gone.
Lee would be the only person left she has.
Although what if only Her mom or Father is left.
It depends actually we'll have to see at the end of Episode 5.
Most likely Lee may still be alive, but for a new character that would be hard to see, considering we haven't seen more characters.
A new character for Season 2 i would think if Clem's father is still alive it would be him.
(I'm not really a walking dead fan, I've only been playing the game.)

A season 2 wouldn't appeal to me if we don't play as lee.

Bah, unless the whole group went to hell, she wouldn't be alone. People who saved Carley could trust her. If you sided with Kenny, and in case that he and his family survive, he could raise her with Duck.

There's Lilly too, but unless she comes back after the Woodbury Accident, and alive, she wouldn't be a option. There's Doug too, but... I don't know. I saved him and all, he seems like a good guy... But I just have that feeling that, if I trust the little girl to him... Well, you guys can imagine.

And of course the new girl who appears in the Chapter 3 Preview. I mean, who knows? :D

And I would really like to play as a Teen Clementine. She doesn't need to be sexy or something. But it would be nice if she happens to be cute.

how about they give us a mass effect style create your own person from a set list of personalites ?

and some model choices ? heck even charge people a bit extra to make there own model yes i know that could be buggy as hell but if the skeleton of the models is the same and we have the range of thin to fat like lee/lilly to doug / brenda as a reference, voice wise would have to be stock choices.

and we meet an older clem even rescue her you know she likes it when complete strangers do that...

I really hope Lee doesn't get replaced. I'm really afraid a older Duck will be the main character. In search of his ''childhood friend'' Clementine. But Clem abanded Duck for obvious reasons.

i dont think it would be set far in the future, they might be stepping on kirkman's toes if they do, i dont even know if kirkman has said how long the zombies will survive, 5-10 years may be to much, and even if they do survive a lot would have happened in that time
  • edited July 2012
kirkman needs to have the walkers or the cause of the out break evolve into something else walkers will eventually rot away..

I still say telling the story of Lilly
after killing the governor and hiding in the prison
    would be a good idea.

I would like to see us play a character that is born in the actual Zombie apocalypse or a teen that has no memory of the world before the zombies showed up. It would be pretty interesting I think

In theory that sounds like a great idea, but in the comics, its only been 2 years so far. It would have to skip really far ahead of the comics for that to work, and that could accidentally screw whatever ending kirkman has in mind(assuming that this is an ending big enough that a new group can't form years later).

the zombies are endless right, everyone one is affected. When someone dies, a zombie is born, so if they don't find a cure the zombie apocalypse is forever. Unless people that are born don't have the virus, then it would take a very long time till the last zombie/person dies.

But if the brain is damaged, a person won't come back as a zombie. You start to see the group damage the brain apon death before they turn to prevent more walkers this way.

i believe a society post zombie apocalypse would be pragmatic about death, it would be everybody's duty to make sure any person that dies has their brain smashed in, hospital beds would have straps to secure ill people, and one of those air pressure guns they use to kill cattle with (no country for old men style) on each bed to quickly dispatch any dead, and all emergency services would be armed.
peoples general approach to seeing injured or ill people would drastically change from empathy to fear.

If not Lee in the second season than Id like to see a whole new set of survivors. How about Morgan and Duane before they ended up with Rick? Lord knows Ive been dying to know what happened to them on the show.

I agree with this too, because Kirkman has stated that he was done with the prison angle and moved on and he wasn't gonna tell their story... Perfect timing for a TT season 2 storyline

I like how optimistacly you people are. They haven't even finished half of the first season, but you assume they would get to do a second season. After all the delays so far, season 2 would start like 2014, and be done maybe in 2015.
  • edited August 2012
wait theres is going to be a second season?
  • edited August 2012
The devs have too much of a hard-on for the comics to do a proper time skip to an older clem. They probably still want to incorporate a bunch of comic characters and locations, and since the comic has only covered about two years of time they can't go too far into the future.
  • edited August 2012

Yep. Telltale thought that it would be nice to release a second season after the sales of the first episode, which was a million with "no signs of stopping".

If you haven't read the comics, this is basically Carl. He wasn't born after the apocalypse, but is a pure product of that world. My favorite character and a damn awesome kid.

Yeah, in the comics, I hope he developes into that kid in show too, he is too annoying right now.. But very awesome in comics..
