E3 2013 thread

edited June 2013 in General Chat
Because no one else is making one, I thought I'd do it.

Let's discuss this year's E3. Do you think [insert company name here] is going to make the games you want to play?

I look forward to the electronic entertainment on display at the expo. I look forward to seeing what apps and features to improve my entertainment the new and upcoming home entertainment consoles have.

The Order: 1988 wins the show for me so far. An original, non-zombie horror game in a steampunk world. With werewolves.

    And a new Oddworld game!
  • No Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments updates! FUCK!

IKR! I was hoping they would do something for E3 like last year.

Kingdom Hearts 3 killed it for me. Seriously, best reveal ever. Almost blew my load even.

    E3 in a nutshell.

I think we'll get a screenshot, AT MOST. AT MOST.

My bet is on a pre-rendered CGI trailer with a limited(roughly 3-4) character cast made up of obvious choices, so the rest can be slowly revealed over the coming months one by one.
  • edited June 2013
I too assume it will be a fully CGI trailer.
  • edited June 2013
Most trailers for video games are pre rendered.

Hopes have been high for a Beyond Good & Evil sequel, spurred by an Ubisoft facebook message. Hope they're not leaving the PC behind... I'll probably get a PS4, but BG&E is mouse and keyboard stuff, nothing else.

You know..I'm excited for it. This next year in gaming is going to be amazing.

No it's not. I have BG&E for GameCube, and the controls work fine.

So have you tried the PC version, ever? Because I have played both PC and PS2... and can only say that the PC controls felt vastly superior to me. It's always a bit personal preference, I guess, but looking around with the 'right stick'... feels like handling a wet bar of soap.

Look...look guys. It's almost time for the only conference that matters.

Well Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, SM3DW, X, W101, and Bayonetta 2 all look amazing.

Also, Nintendo has posted a lot more trailers on their page that weren't on the press event, so I'd take a look at those too.

Nintendo has debuted trailers that weren't in the conference, like A Link Between Worlds and Yoshi's New Island.

and for Smash Bros you get a full trailer plus a Mega Man trailer!

Most of the stages are fairly obvious, but I like the look of some of the quick shots of 3DS stages

I believe I see Gerudo Valley here. I wonder if it'll be a static stage or if it'll scroll through different Hyrule areas

    3dn2P.jpg
    This looks Fire Emblem-y

    Is this Donkey Kong Country?

After explicitly teasing the game on their facebook account, Ubisoft failed to announce Beyond Good & Evil 2 in their press conference.

I always knew these guys were trolling their fans, but THIS...
  • edited June 2013
Now who to assign "best conference" to?

Either Nintendo or Sony. I loved what they shown in terms of games, BUUUTTTT Sony gets bonus points for flat out killing the Xbox One in this conference. That deserves its own reward, so I'm giving this year to Sony.
  • edited June 2013
    Ubisoft.
Not a single game I had no interest in.
  • edited June 2013
I would say Sony, but that was less of a press conference and more of a lube-less fisting of Microsoft.

It makes you wonder what they were planning to do before Microsoft's reveal.

Hmph! That's very disappointing (not to mention cruel on Ubisoft's part).

Biggest disappointment so far? We still don't have firm details about The Wolf Among Us.

All that Walking Dead stuff, AGAIN... yeah, I believe some moving pictures of TWaU are very much in order. Then again, just wait a liiiittle longer. Telltale didn't just go to E3 to announce a two hour DLC.

Seriously, Eddie. This is what they posted on their facebook.

Still hoping that they'll sneak the announcement in during the next days - but mostly just because I can't believe the shit they're pulling off here.

If Telltale announces something OTHER than Walking Dead/Wolf Among Us, then I'll be seriously surprised.

I've learned to lower my expectations when dealing with this kinda stuff.

Poker Night 2 came completely out of the blue and was available pretty immediately after the announcement. Don't rule out surprises too quickly, lattsam... :)
